  1. Error :P Also, I have a question. My past 10 tasks from duradel have ALL been either hellhounds or greaters, and i'm really getting tired of them so I considered switching to Sumona. Should I do this, or just block them? And btw i'm definitely going to be taking metal dragon tasks and maging them, considering i'm 99 range and want mage exp very badly. Definitely block hellhounds and greaters. More trouble than they're worth.
  2. I don't believe I ever once stated that maxed players discovered how to best train every skill, kill every boss, etc, etc. Obviously there are players who know more about particular aspects of the game than the maxed players. But that's the thing, they know more about certain subjects, but they do not possess the overall knowledge of the game that a maxed player has. And you keep using the word automatically. I agree with you on that account. When a player obtains 2,376 total, they do not get a big box in the mail full of R00nSc4p3 NOELEGE!!!1! Right, because it's not like they EARNED that knowledge playing the game or anything. And on your last point, it is NOT conceptually the same as a player maxing combat. There you go using speculation and theory. You can't claim that a player possesses the same knowledge and experience as a maxed player just because they know how to theoretically level each skill. You've given the example of a player maxing combat. That player knows how to max combat. There. That's it. He/she may know a lot about combat, but what could this player tell me about getting 99 mining, smithing, herblore, farming? At best, he/she could tell me what they read from a guide.
  3. +1. If you had to guess which player had more knowledge of Runescape between someone with 1500 total and a maxed player, who would you pick? What about players who have been playing for a long time. Usually if someone has been playing for a long time they have tried a little bit of everything. From pking to skilling. The only thing there would be that forum would be filled with "bring wildy back pl0x" threads. I would fall under that category. I've been playing for seven years, and I probably know the fastest way to get to 99 in most skills. Being experienced isn't just knowing how to theoretically do something, it's knowing what it's like, and actually doing it. No one can say that they know what it's like to have maxed total, and no one can say that they know just as much when all they know are the theories behind leveling each and every skill. Not only that, but what do you do when you've maxed every skill? We don't know, we've never been in that situation.
  4. I almost always get a rune scimitar, a good number of rune arrows, some nice herbs, and a couple fire battlestaffs. It's pretty good for a Slayer task, but not if you're looking to camp there.
  5. Yes, actually. No, actually, you don't automatically have a greater knowledge of the game once you're maxed. Keyword being automatically in case you missed it the original post, and my response. So you're saying that you do not have to have completely maxed stats to know what it's like? How to get there? What those players are able to do with what they have? You know, I know, we all know exactly what they know, they just have more time? I personally am not so naive to think that I have the same knowledge and experience as a maxed player. Zarfot is a great example. All you have to do is look at his extremely comprehensive collection of guides on the RSOF to know that he's far more knowledgeable on the subject of Runescape than any one of us. The difference between him and a lot of other maxed players is that he's written guides on his methods. Please, show me a player who does not have maxed stats that can compare to the level at which these people play the game.
  6. Or you could craft a couple thousand of them in an hour. That works.
  7. Size is definitely an issue with a lot of familiars. I'd agree with Philip. Go with the Lobster.
  8. Abbys are weak to crush?
  9. Now I'm leaning towards a Saradomin Sword. I feel that faster Waterfiends and Gargoyle tasks will be worth the cost. I can also lend it out, as I wont be using it THAT often. I'll make my money back in no time. This sounds like a good idea to me. I'm about halfway there. I'll probably go and buy it after I get my fire cape.
  10. So now I'm kind of leaning towards a DFS. I think it would be a pretty decent investment, especially since I'd get tons of use out of it. I'm going to be going boss hunting after 90 Slayer, so a DFS would be great to have. I'd like to see some more opinions!
  11. I actually use a cannon on every task that I can. I also use the 10% prayer. This extra money that goes towards a new item is the money left over after buying super sets, prayer potions, and cannonballs. :) I think you're absolutely right about the DFS. I can't finish a Nechs task without banking. I tend to get a good amount of waterfiends and gargoyles. But you know, now that you mention it. Investing in using piety might actually be the best route to go. I'm definitely considering it.
  12. I'm going for 90 Slayer, and I'm trying to get there as quickly as possible. ALL of my money goes towards Slayer, so my cash pile is steadily rising. I'd like to spend the extra cash on an item that would help me slay more quickly. I can't decide on what I need to upgrade. Here are the options. I'd be saving up for one of these, as I feel that any one of them would help me quite a bit. EDIT: It should also be noted that once I purchase an item, I keep it forever. EDIT2: A few more clarifications. I use a cannon on every task that I possibly can. I also use the 10% prayer on every task. All of the money going towards a new item would be AFTER buying cannonballs and prayer potions. I'm also editing the SGS section. Bandos Plate I'm currently using a Guthan's plate. I'm not quite sure if the extra +4 strength is worth the investment. So far I'm leaning towards buying this first because it's more universal and would help all around. DFS Currently using a Anti Dragon Shield/Mind shield for dragons. I would really only need this for Wyvern tasks, but it would be helpful to have in case I want to go to the KBD for a Black Dragon task, or if I decide to unblock Irons. Mostly though, it would make Wyverns a little more bearable. Saradomin Sword Currently using a whip + defender for Gargoyles/Waterfiends. I would need this for Gargoyle and Waterfiends tasks. I'm currently using a whip for both, and I suppose I could invest in a Zamorakian Spear, but I'd rather not deal with junk trading. Overall, this would make both of those tasks much faster. I'm sort of leaning towards this as well. Saradomin Godsword No comparison. The problem with saving for the SGS is that it will take a long time. I'd rather get the other items sooner, which would then aid me in saving for an SGS. Still, it's an option. I'd be using the Godsword for its specials, and for Dark Beasts tasks when I get them. Berserker Ring Using a Ring of Wealth, which I'm happy with. I don't feel that this is worth saving up for, but it's an option.
  13. I personally see this as being a very good thing. After reading the thread, the common argument seems to be "well why should they be able to suggest improvements for 99 Firemaking, when 20 million other players have the same level?!11!?!" I can't wait to see more of Zarfot's suggestions implemented. Dark bow anyone?
  14. Level 90 is Soul Runes. And besides, we CAN craft them. ZMI. :twss:
  15. I've decided that I'm not going to worry about prayer for the time being. Being able to slay as fast as possible is far more important. I think it's because I'm absolutely determined to catch up to Minergoo. =P He is ahead of me by over 1m experience, and that's unacceptable. So now I'm going to be spending my money on items that will help me slay faster. This includes a Bandos plate, Armadyl Helm, DFS, Berserker ring, and a SGS. I wont have these items for a while, but it's best to get them sooner than later. I'm also going to be doing my first fire cape attempt when I hit 85 Range, rather the originally planned 90. The fire cape is a priority, but I have all the super restores. I'm only going to need to buy a verac's helm temporarily, and the bolts, which shouldn't cost much. I may actually get full void range as well. I only need the helm, so 200 points would be what, a few hours at the very most? Time to get serious. SRS SLYR.

    This man speaks the truth.

When training, speed > power. If you use your GS for boss hunting pretty often, keep it. If you're just training to 99 Strength, you'll be faster with a SS.
  18. She never states in her thread that range bonus affects the damage rates of a cannon. She only says that range LEVEL does. I've read over the entire thread, and all of her other threads, a good few times.
  19. [hide=] [/hide] I just bought 20k Arctic Pines. 1. Buy up arctic pines. 2. Wait for PvP worlds. 3. ???? 4. PROFIT! Thanks OP.
  20. I for one would love to see this implemented. It would bring an entirely new degree to the game.
  21. The point wasn't that people could make current products such as rune platebodies more easily, it was that we need MORE to certain skills than just the basic "click on tree... log. Click on tree... log."
  22. I think you missed the point. He's not saying that we need to get rid of how the skill works, we just need to add to it. I love mining as well, I personally find it to be very fun, but it does need more. That and other skills need to have other uses. A player with 99 mining should have a huge advantage over lower level players, not just the slightly faster gathering rate. All skills should work like Summoning in that 99 should be hugely more advantageous than say, 50, and in more ways than one. EDIT: Also, I really like this thread already. There have surely been others like it, but I think that what you've written is pretty thought provoking. Bravo. =D>
