  1. In BH you actually get the items youre opponent was using, in the pvp worlds it wont be that way. Although looking at your stats I could see why you wouldnt miss it. I concede defeat. You made two good points. ;)
  2. I have never DK'd, but as far as I'm concerned, it's not luring in the RS sense of the word. If you're maging Rex by yourself, you need to understand that there are two other bosses there, and you need to be prepared to fight them if they come close, regardless of whether or not it's by player influence. I for one will never go to DK's unless I'm hybriding/tribriding with a team, or doing it solo. And by solo, I mean taking all three Kings. Rant: [hide=]It really bugs me when people say they're "soloing" the kings if they're just maging Rex. You're not soloing, you're hiding from the other two Kings.[/hide]
  3. When PvP worlds come out, I don't see what use BH will have anymore. If they got rid of it, I wouldn't miss it.
  4. Hahaha, like I said, I don't follow Zarfot's guide to the tee. I don't have his levels, nor do I have his items or cash. I generally don't worry about EXP rates, so you could say that I'm relaxed in that sense, but I do slay as fast as I possibly can. I get a kick out of finishing long, drawn tasks quickly.
  5. I'm not saying we should all be like Zarfot. I'm saying that his knowledge of Slayer is literally unmatched. Honestly, I don't think any guide compares to his in any way. I would only write a Slayer guide if I were providing alternate methods or tactics that he doesn't mention, and even then I would put a link to his guide in the introduction to my own. For Tipiters who are unfamiliar with Slayer, your guide is great. It's also pretty easy to follow, which is a plus. :) But for anyone who is seriously going for 99 and beyond, Zarfot's is paramount.
  6. He's quoting Zarfot's guide most likely. Anyways, I don't beat around the bush. I just give them the straight up facts, and that is blue charm droppers aren't good charm droppers. There's a very, very good reason to quote Zarfot's guide. In my personal opinion, every serious Slayer should read his guide twenty times. I don't necessarily follow everything he says, but I've learned quite a bit from reading it so many times. If he's quoting Zarfot's guide, it's worth listening to.
  7. I got around 20 when I killed those 198, in my opinion that's far from good - yes, I know it's a lot of blues compared to monsters killed, but as blues are this rare I don't make number out of them. Bork is steady source of blues for me. I don't feel like using cannon at single either, if I had 85 mining then I would complete those, without it dark beasts are waste of time in my opinion. 92 slayer and monk robes, I haven't completed quest that gives you proselytes yet :D Also figured out what tasks I will block. 1. dark beasts 2. hellhounds 3. Kalphites 4. Fire giants I was thinking of blocking turoths/kurasks but those tasks are so rare that I can just use points to skip them or kill them - as it's rare assignment I don't have to use points or kill them all the time anyways. Do you use Duradel? If so, he doesn't assign Turoths or Kurasks. Also, with a Leaf-Bladed Sword, they're not so bad. ;) Anyway, sorry if I seem a bit rude or scathing. In the end, if it's not fun, don't do it. I would personally block Gargoyles if I had space on my list, just because they annoy me to no end. They have great drops, but they're not fun for me, and that's what counts. Slay on.
  8. Used whip + supers, praying in monk robes. Still too slow for my taste and as you already know you never should hunt for blue charms as drop rates are very low for those. I actually asked around from my friends what did they block, dark beasts was very common answer, just like hellhounds, kalphites and terrorbirds. If i don't like killing something exp rate wont mean a thing - I play for fun, if it feels like work then it's better to quit for a while. No one said they were hunting for blue charms, however, getting 20-30 blue charms in a single task is pretty damn good. Like Outsanity said, they go down fairly quickly, especially with a cannon. Also, 90 Slayer and monk robes?
  9. I think most hardcore slayers use either the 10% prayer, or piety. I've known about this for quite some time, but this topic will be pretty helpful for others. =D>
  10. Zaros is the Empty Lord. #-o
  11. Wow, I'm excited about this. The first Mahjarrat quest in God knows how long. And it looks like the Ectofuntus is now a viable option for raising prayer! Too bad I'm leaving in twenty minutes, but when I get back, I'm doing this quest. =D>
  12. I know it's horrible, but those forty-five minutes wont be too bad.
  13. According to the knowledge base, you're going to need the 90 Prayer and 85 Smithing to attach the Sigil. Think of it this way: you now have a very good reason to raise those skills. ;)
  14. Go buy one on the GE for less than 200 GP, and try to wear it. Get back to us on the results. I've always noticed an increase in nests when using it.
  15. You can buy them on the GE, and I don't believe you need a level to wear them.
  16. 82 Slayer. Closing in on 88 HP already. I've also started using my slayer points on Slayer Dart runes. In one more level, Slayer is going to really start paying off. I'm pretty excited. Also, Duradel continues his trend of Gargoyle tasks.
  17. Dark Beasts- If you use a cannon, a beast of burden, and perhaps piety, they will fall pretty quickly, and inventory space wont be a problem. At that Slayer level, your melee stats and prayer should be very decent. They drop Dark Bows, a large amount of blue charms, and are right next to a rune rock if you have 85 mining. Fire Giants- They are never crowded in the chaos tunnels, which is multicombat. Use a familiar, either for combat or healing, and you'll rip through them. The drops are quite nice. I usually get one or two rune scimitars, and at least 100+ gold charms. Jungle Horrors- Duradel doesn't assign these, and once you hit 100 combat and 50 Slayer, you should really be using Duradel.
  18. I've noticed that Overlords seem to use melee attacks when they're up close. What I think it is is that the animation of the range attack disappears, so it seems to be melee when it's not. It's probably a still a Range attack that the Titan is using. ;) I think it's worth testing, however. Not even close. The geyser titan does a SLAP with 2 hands, it's clearly a different animation from the geyser titan throwing a ball with 1 hand. Also, I'm going to edit the Fighter torso. Although it's DEFINETELY not worth the time spent, I guess you can use it if you refuse to combat prayers. That's very interesting information. I wonder if the Steel Titan also uses melee when it's up close? Information like that would definitely cement certain familiars as better choices for certain tasks. Again, great guide. I would recommend that you perhaps go a little more in depth with your descriptions on how to do each task. Which super set to use, which familiar, combinations of familiars, which speccing weapon, etc.

EDIT: Also, I'm curious as to whether or not Jagex has assigned attack modes to monsters, such as crush, slash, etc. I'm sure they do, but I don't base that on anything. If they are, what familiars use which modes of attack? If Iron Titans don't use a crush attack (I don't see why not), then they wouldn't be preferable over say, a Steel Titan against Gargoyles.
  20. This is what I was suggesting. A lot of people aren't familiar with what attack types certain monsters are weak to. Also, for your gargoyles section (I despise them too, brother), you should add that they're weak to crush attacks, and a Saradomin Sword is the best weapon to use. A Godsword is also great. If you can't afford either, a Zamorakian Spear is still better than a whip. I was also wondering, since they're weak to crush, wouldn't an Iron Titan be the best familiar to use, as it's melee based? I don't think any large familiars are actually very useful at CT Gargoyles, because they dance too much, but a melee based familiar would be preferable. I know that a Geyser titan is crush/range... not sure about iron. I forgot about Gargoyles and SS because I havn't been there in a while tbh, lol. Also, I'm going to update the Dags section. Doing a task now, getting a pic in a second. I am going to change the part that says that ct gives better charms, because it doesn't. Dags are a much faster task, and faster charms. (surprisingly...) Geyser Titans use melee as well as Range? I thought they were purely range based, though I don't know what they're special would be considered.

  22. I don't know if it's been mentioned, but for Spiritual Mages, use a Zamorak Robe Bottom instead of Pros legs if you have a Fire Cape. This provides higher attack bonuses and higher prayer bonuses, as you're allowed to use a defender and fire cape. It's not a bad guide though! =D> I'll be watching it. Also, just a suggestion, but some combat familiars are obviously better for certain tasks than others. You should recommend certain familiars, rather than stating "combat familiar". I learned that from your guide. ;)
  23. Giant rock crabs are designed to be "combat triangle" monsters. They're melee based, and so they're weak to magic and strong against range. I would highly doubt that range would do any good whatsoever. Their defense is ridiculously high.
