Corpereal beast solo with cannon + spirit shield? + message
I think it's possible, but requires a Divine or Elysian Shield. Probably Divine. Ruby + Onyx bolts/Z spear, cannon, Barrage runes for the Dark Core, dancing underneath it and reloading the cannon. I think it can be done.

The New Shields
Well, I was almost right when I guessed what they'd do. I'm still very impressed. The Elysian Shield could be amazing on Slayer tasks where you take tons of damage. The Divine shield and a whip is probably the best solo equipment for just about any boss monster. Arcane could be used for DK mages. Spectral for Castle Wars (that's all I can think of). This is a pretty great update. I'd expect the Divine and Elysian shields to stay right where they are in terms of price.

15 September 2008 - Summer's End
Heh i thought that when i started reading about it. Going on early sketchy details that came through me and some mates were working out a possible way to 5-man it using a main tank and 3-4 rangers on lunars to act as healer/dps. Although it seems like the easiest way is in fact just to brute force it ;/. I was hoping that the boss would put out huge damage to the tank but negligable damage to anyone out of melee range.. it'd be interesting to have to coordinate lunar mages to take shifts healing the tank while dpsing with range, while also having to watch their placement to avoid that AoE thing he does. In other words i wanted a fight that used some semblance of skill instead of hit it til it's dead :P I just talking about this with a friend of mine yesterday. He plays WOW and was telling me about the raids and end game bosses and I just thought "wow, if Runescape actually came out with a boss like that..." I'm a little sad that this boss takes more brute force than anything, but it's a step in the right direction. Hopefully, a few players will find a way to effectively kill it using more than just body after body after body. Nonetheless, I'm really excited about those shields. (And it was sad when I tried to explain Zilyana to my friend. After his epic story, GWD just seemed nooby in comparison.)

The Corporeal Beast ( lvl-785 )
Made me LOL. This new boss is totally exciting. I have yet to do the quest, and I doubt I'll even try to join a team for the boss. I'd like to know what those shields do, and they're stats.

Getting ready for some serious slayer
Pretty much everything Robinhoodie said. Although, I find that the Overlord and Void Spinner work pretty well for combat and healing, respectively. But if you can use a Bunyip, go with the Bunyip. EDIT: Buy an SS for Gargoyle and Waterfiend tasks, but otherwise, train controlled with a whip, it's much more efficient. If you use your DDS specs a lot, your strength experience will skyrocket past your other stats, but that's OK. Buy a fury. Use a Barrows plate. ROW increases charm drops, so I'd use it, but Explorer's Ring is fine if you absolutely cannot hold onto drops. Use a cannon as often as possible.

Impressiveness of the Kill
Like a few other posters said, I would think that the longer the battle, the higher the reward. I would be more impressed with a five minute battle than a player KO'ing another out of nowhere.

Wait... Stakings GONE!?
You can make a couple million if you stake in tournaments. It looks pretty fun to me, but probably only feasible if you have near maxed combat stats and good equipment.

Is the D2H any good?
I've seen D2h's used for Slayer tasks like Kalphites, Dags, Dust Devils, etc, etc. Anything in multicombat. Seems to be pretty good if you just use the spec while you're surrounded, then switch to your primary weapon.

DED BLAWG
Finished the blog. Decided to keep it simple, as I'd rather not have to update it every day. Sorry folks, no pictures unless I think they're worth it.

Market Instability and Gameplay
I buy equipment to keep as well. If I buy a SGS for 60m, and the moment I buy it it drops to 50m, then so be it. I bought it so I could use it. While it's terrible that the economy is insane right now, it doesn't affect me. I'm mostly an independent player anyway.
