  1. I think you really did well there -- reds seem to be going well under 1.3, so unless yellows have really crashed, this was nice for you.
  2. Saw two green sellers at ~1160. Neither sold. Yellow is 1.01. Almost equivalent to divine. It's all sellers right now in the partyhat market. Red's below 1.32.
  3. Still rising, anybody know why when none of the others are? Also, would I be able to upgrade from yellow to green with the mask, currently at 110m g.e All masks (and santa) are rising. True, though, that blue has risen the most. (For that reason, I've sold all mine and am not buying blues right now, only greens and maybe santas.) My limited experience is that most phat owners looking to downgrade are doing so to get cash, so they'd prefer for you to sell the mask and upgrade with cash instead of the mask.
  4. The red is even a little lower than this, I think. This "mini-crash" has come after a somewhat more extended downward drift. I'm not quite sure what's going on here. Perhaps this is merely a "consolidation pause." Also, the ge prices of some of these hats have caught up with the street, which sometimes can result in a bit of a crash. Finally, don't forget that right before free trade, many of the lower hats were bought for a fraction of this. Perhaps some who wisely bought at that time are seeing this as a good time to take some profits (and buy some kickin' new armour). The GE price has no relevance to the market price. Just because the GE price rises doesn't mean it can manipulate the demand to suddenly slow down. Red partyhats were once, the most expensive item in the game because of the GE price. But its market price was still lower than white, blue, and cracker. That's how terribly inaccurate the GE price is. The pre-free trade was merely panic and the prices were so low because people was very scared to lose money. Now that we adapt this new system of trading, people came to their senses and realized that this became a great opportunity to buy items cheap. There is no way rares will go back to where they were before Feb 1st. Everyone just had too much money to spend but ironically, too scared to spend it. The dip we're experiencing is another cycle we go through whenever merchants feel the need to sell items. Then when they're cheap, they rise again. It's already happened 2-3 times since FT was introduced. :-w Well of course phats (and all other wearable discontinueds) will go up in the long run. But psychology still has a lot to do with "market" prices, and I'm not sure the ge price is entirely irrelevant to psychology.

  6. Never thought that partyhats are 'too' inflated... but then theres so little of them that you really cant say for sure if they can even crash more then 10% of their current price lol. Also green masks seem like a great idea, santas are about as common as all 3 masks put together then multiplied by 3 and theyre still worth more then green masks :P Only problem is... you could have used the 1b or whatever u paid for them on something else, aka a yellow that consistantly rises and would sell easily if you panic lol (as opposed to selling 19 during a potential crash) Difference is that I can "flip" the greens while I'm holding them. I could flip a phat, too, but that's a little more risky in the sense that if it suddenly spikes, you lose your shirt. Last time I went through this process I held these smaller rares and flipped in and out of them until I got 20 santas. When santas spiked, I sold them and bought a white. Unfortunately, I was stupid enough to get caught in the edible crash, so I lost most of my value. Now I'm just holding smaller rares again, flipping when I get the chance. I'll buy another phat again sometime, but I'm waiting for a nice dip. It might take six months, but they'll dip when the next big thing is released.
  7. Fwiw, my primary investment atm is in green masks -- I bought 19 of them. I selected green masks because they had crashed hardest pre-free trade, which led me to conclude that they had the most upside and were least likely to re-crash from their current position. But I don't see any wearable discontinued item as a serious long-term crash risk from where they are now. Phats might experience a short-term correction because they shot up so much after free trade, but I think all wearable discontinueds will go up in the long run.
  8. I'm pretty sure that's just your mistake, seeing as tree grow time fluctuates (they can still become diseased, and when they do they lose a cycle of growth even if the farmer cures them). Between 6 fruit trees and that many growth cycles it's not surprising that some take 2 hours extra. It's why I normally give them ~20 hours. :\ I supercomposted mine and paid the farmers to take care of them -- all grew in less than 12 hours.
  9. There are a lot of people who got phats at cheap prices, Bare in mind, purp was around 480 before it rose and yellow ~520. Like you said, red was probably the most profitable since it was as low as 550 and then got back all the way to 1.4B which is an astonishing 850m profit. More than any other phat. That may be why reds are so popular with merchants. Still, this isn't enough to entirely change the prices from being expensive to super cheap. Also, the phat ranking is very strict as far as demand goes so red will still be the third most expensive. I don't see any real evidence that red is going to crash below green or even yellow other then pure speculation or manipulators. I still remember when yellow was more than green at one point, but then green catched up since the demand (and supplies) automatically corrected the prices to where it should be. Green was manipulated back above yellow. Relative "demand" for phats depends mostly on their perceived value, not inherent desireability. If manipulators can make most people think one partyhat is more valuable than another, then it will be. In this case, perception is reality.
  10. All party hats aren't 2b+ In fact Red had a crash today and is now selling below 1.4bil. I'm pretty optimistic that it will recover though. There wasn't really a reason for Reds to crash today and is mostly caused by a panic sell. Yeh, It's funny how this crash was aimed at a particular color. Makes me question whether reds are the most common phats or not or people who have them are just plain idiots. 1.4 seems low for a red imo. Purp isn't far from 900 and yellows are still stable at 1.02-3'ish. It'll recover. Read on RSOF that some merchers are trying to crash red (with some success). There are a lot of people out there who got reds super cheap right before free trade, so they could sell at 1B and still make hundreds of mils. They might even be trying to force red to switch places permanently with green. That would be interesting. This probably is possible right now because xp weekend is sucking up all the excess cash in the game. Lower rares also are on a pause atm.
  11. I realize my levels are a little higher, but I have no problem getting to Jad with simply prayer pots and sharks. I just max prayer/ranged bonuses. I spend almost nothing. Unfortunately, I keep screwing up the prayer switching, but I've never seen why brews are thought necessary just to get to Jad.
  12. Maybe someone can tell me whether this was a lure. This level 130+ asked me to be in his "vid." He insisted that I wear h'ween mask and good armour "so that the vid would look good." He asked me to tele to trollheim, which I did (with an inventory full of food and a 1-click, just in case). His buddy was there and they were saying for me to "follow" them to the spot where we would shoot the vid. I teled instead, but I'm not sure what they could have done to me up there. Any ideas? yeah they would take u to the bit with the trolls that range cain u out if u dont have prayer on, i remmebre when it first came out i trained melee there and soooo many people died because they panicked. oh ffs guys stop moaning about luring its just a bit of fun, dont take runescape so seriously. its weerd. also like to add ive onyl ever had one friend i would even consider at all an actual friend and he was a pro lurer. i always found lurers to be much mroe fun than most other players. did anyone ever go on mayhem makers forums? everyone there scammed/lured/hacked but it was jokes man. actuallly got hacked by one of the membs for 40m, which 4 years ago was quite a lot. i didnt cry and report him, i just was a bit annnoyed. If this was their ploy, it was rather lame -- anyone who's been to GWD (and who hasn't?) knows about the throwers. Even if I didn't, I can't imagine I'd die before I got my prayer on.
  13. Could jagex routinely (once or twice a week) do a simple update that "makes the bot client outdated"?
  14. In an earlier thread on a video of kiills in the clan war lure, I volunteered to be part of just such a group, but nobody has called me to help yet. I'm not exactly high level, but I could help overwhelm them with numbers.

  16. A berserker ring increases your chance of receiving a whip or a dragon chain, too. And well, i guess jagex just need a better PR department and some common sense. I'll still use zerker for things that I have to pound to kill. But when I'm already killing as fast as I can check the drop pile, I'll use RoW. Another important variable will be where the teles take you. If they make it so that you can bank and get back to slaying quickly, then I'll definitely use that slot for RoW with some frequency.
  17. Sigh, i hate Ring of wealth. But now that you guys have corrected me, it deservs a update. But i still hate it for all discussion and thoughts i have put in trying to understand it. I appreciate the correction. RoW just went from something I NEVER used to something I will FREQUENTLY use. And you know that it'll be useful because...? I seriously doubt it'll still become more useful than a trusty berserker, or the kind. As for the other updates, what a way to let us down easy, ey? first they have an awesome month with free trade and wilderness(best update in years), and then they come up with all this ****. wow. If it increases the rate of unique drops on items like whip and d chain (on monsters that I already 2 or 3 hit), then I can't see myself using anything else for those.

  19. More likely scenario: Phats crash as super rich buy out commodities. Lower rares then crash as nouveau riche liquidate to buy the commodities from the super rich. The super rich then take all the cash and buy back all p hats and lower rares at discounted prices, driving those prices back up.
  20. You know what's better than temporary bosses? Permanent ones ;) I'm not sure that's true. I've always thought that Runescape ought to have more seasonal contect. E.g., there ought to be a Christmas tree erected in Varrock every December. Parts of Runescape ought to be decorated every halloween. I like the spring flowers that then disappear only to come back next year. Minor seasonal bosses? Yes, please!
  21. Agreed 110%. It actually pisses me off that my money contributed to this sorry excuse of an update. ;_; In your haste to whine you forget that Jagex hinted that Hati will be back, so why do you say that the programming is "wasted"? If they're developing a rotating set of temporary bosses, I think that's a nice addition. Each of us can look forward to the return of the one that we like best.
  22. Sorry if someone's already answered this, but do you get combat xp for those 10,000 lp?
  23. Just came from w2, and reds are 119 - 121. (Actually, I didn't see anyone selling for 121 -- lowest seller was 125, and highest buyer was 119 or 120.) Update: Santas are now 79-80 Green 69-70 (hasn't changed) Blue 90-92 Red 123-125 Easters seem to be junk at the moment. Greens are 70-71.
