  1. Personally, I say wait for the crash. Some people don't think partyhats higher than green are going to crash, though. It's a gamble either way. For the sake of sounding "stupid" once again -- when you say "crash" are you indicating that this is a crash from the current "street" price, based on the supposedly necessary amounts of combinations of (junk + items + whatever) = (x) phat, or are you predicting that the actual, eventual "GE" suggested price and/or street price after the return of free trade will be substantially less than the actual current "GE" suggested price? Jesus -- I think I just confused myself ... My advise: If he can get it for a price that he couldn't before, then get it. This is especially so if he wants it to keep. In the very long run, he won't be sorry.
  2. ^This -- there's still excess demand for these things, but the professional snipers aren't targetting them atm. They're probably all trying to snipe reds.
  3. You didn't give people time to get their offers in at the new max.
  4. "Borrowed items may not be taken across the ditch." Same goes for teleporting in. It would probably be "You cannot attack another player with another player's stuff!" Pretty much be a meatbag clad in metal, leather, or cloth. Don't think I'll lend for the first week or so.
  5. why should they try to appease a small minority? Because the small minority can shout really hard. Anyway, I'm interested in seeing what effects this will have on the market and what all the changes will be (regarding ovls, clue scrolls and such). I'd like to at least give a go to a falling star in the wildy -- could be fun.
  6. well that's stupid   No it's not. <_< It lasts 10 hours of combat, or about the same as the effective bonuses do during double xp weekend. It's also a seasonal event with a pretty big time window to complete. I see no reason for Jagex to encourage no-lifers to camp these in order to speed toward a 200m xp goal even faster. Be grateful and take it as a bonus event with decent, useable rewards. It's DESIGNED to last 10 hours in combat for NORMAL people. In reality it only lasts 500k bonus xp, roughly. That's a very nice bonus, particularly if they continue to allow it to be used for non-combat mage training.
  7. Yes, we shouldn't be allowed to get these items for training after 99 and for the looks of them either . You have 4 weeks to kill it then like 3 months to use the gloves, there's no rush. yes you shouldn't.. Is it so wrong to ask something for non-maxed people one day? really everything these days is for maxed people and even the things especially said for "mid level" are getting massed by people with maxed combat.. - If you are just land 1 hit and then wait till everyone can do that! So what you're saying is that experience should stop at exactly level 99 as it's pointless training higher and people shouldn't be able to as it's not as worthy as actually gaining levels? Here's an idea: Jagex has "high level worlds." How about some "low level worlds"? I think that would be a nice idea. Plz point out the high lvl world I havn't seem to have found it yet I guess you must be whining because they're not high enough. Of course Jagex won't set up basically empty worlds for just a few of the highest level players. But that wouldn't be a problem with newb worlds -- there always are plenty of newbs. I think the concept is sound.

  9. This wolf must be a real beast -- he already broke the whole game!
  10. Jad wouldn't be hard if you didn't have to prayer switch. If this is a straightforward mele wolf, it will be relatively easy to slaughter. Depending on its defense level, might actually be pretty good xp. Perhaps their idea is that you get the gloves and then use them to train up combat on the wolf.
  11. I'd strongly suspect that you don't have children. If you did, you'd appreciate the heartbreak that a child endures when his items are basically stolen from him. As a parent, it's gut-wrenching to discover that some douchebag has scammed your child out of items he worked so hard to acquire. This is one of the reasons I don't want "free-trade" back. Though my children are all older and wiser now there is a large population of children playing the game who will be taken advantage of by people who consider earstwhile unconscionable acts as valid game tactics, because they can hide their truly despicable nature behind a computer screen ... I remember back to the day when I started this game, and I was just a kid. I got scammed several times and yes while it is painful it gives invaluable advice. I look back on those moments today and I appreciate them. Also, a parent who thinks it is gut-wrenching to have a child taken advantage of, needs to back off a little bit. Give children some freedom, there is more satisfaction in knowing they can do things for themselves instead of having to worry about them for the rest of your life. Shortly after aquiring his first mil, my son was scammed of most of his bank. He cried. I said, "lesson learned," but I was crying inside. He quickly got his mil back (and more). The truth is that scammers can't get the most valuable part of the file -- the character and it's stats. That untouchable part of the file is what makes it possible to make the money in game. So scamming is not really a very big deal (although it does hurt), and it does teach valuable lessons. My son is much less trusting online now, which is a good thing.
  12. Don't think it will be January -- I think they're going to milk the word of mouth publicity from the change longer than that.
  13. Clues were a lot more fun in the old wildy -- I liked to put on black dhide and load up with monks, carry a dds and cheap shield and hope to get attacked.
  14. I don't know about pvp, but I'm really looking forward to trying this thing against mith dragons. As for being too easy to get, how many of them are there out there? I don't see many. I died quite a few times before I finally beat it.
  15. Ely's not even a green now. People are panic selling them.
  16. Ely is not close to white. Maybe three elys for white and junk.
  17. Did you find soloing was not a viable option? What things did you find yourself doing repetitively?
  18. I'm not saying that the whole concept is "lame". Dungeoneering would have been awesome if it was a minigame instead. But, as a skill... for those who don't like it as a skill (which, if you take a look at the RSOF, there are more than a few of us), we have to have our overall skill totals suffer because of it. Actually, since this thing apparently is super-slow to train, then you can focus on your other, faster-training skills, and actually get an ADVANTAGE over those who choose to pursue this skill. So now you're a big fan, right?
  19. I haven't had a chance to try it yet. What did you like least about it? Was there anything that you did like? I know this question probably already has been answered, but when you fight, etc, in these dungeons, do you get combat/cooking/crafting xp?
  20. Who cares what you hear from other people? Do YOU like it?
  21. This overstates the value of the disk a bit. If I were trying to upgrade yellow to disk (which I wouldn't unless I desperately needed cash or wanted to put disk with egg for red), then I would hope to get closer to disk plus 150m junk for yellow. Of course, this depends on the junk.
  22. Getting a divine/elysian, getting dozens of onyx rings, sniping lesser rares off the ge, sniping the hat itself off the ge, buying the green partyhat or lesser rares with hundreds of millions of junk on the forums, or getting lucky and trading hundreds of millions of risings for the hat or lesser rares. In the last month or so I've gone from 20 santas to a red, and I think I've learned some things along the way. If I were starting from scratch and trying to get a green right now, here's what I'd do. First, you need a cashpile. Right now, 1B would be safe. You possibly could do it with as little as 700M. The first step would be to buy two easters. These can be bought for cash. They trade in the 300's. Right now, figure pushing 400M each. A few days ago they were going about 300M each. You should buy 2. Once you have the two eggs, getting the green is simple -- you just put the eggs together with cash. Because greens are very hot right now, I might have to add some wergali (unf), and these can easily be bought for cash. Feel free to follow up with questions. Getting a divine/elysian is not a good idea. Both of those are declining in value. If you have a divine, you easily can get a green, but why would you do that? As for the elysian, they're dropping fast. I doubt you could even get a green for an elysian right now. You do NOT need dozens of onyx rings. Nine easily should be enough for the green, but getting it with easters would be easier. You might be able to buy the green with hundreds of millions of junk, but that would be very hard to do. Honestly, I think I've given you the easiest way. If you have the cash (between 700M and 1B, probably closer to 1B), you probably could get the green within an hour or two. Having said all of that, I, personally, would not buy a green right now. They've been successfully manipulated on the RSOF and their street has skyrocketed. If you're just in love with the green, then go for it because they may never come back down. But if you're just trying to get a first phat for an investment, the yellow (which has really born the brunt of the upward manipulation of the green) is relatively very cheap right now. If you have a big enough cashpile to get a green, then you probably could get a red for about an extra 400M. The method would be the same except that you'd have to add another egg and maybe another onyx.
  23. Might be buyable in GE -- I heard they crashed today. should i wait then? Personally, I'm not buying masks at this price point. What do you think about santas? They are still much cheaper than a blue h'ween mask, yet they don't seem any signs of rising (but they're not crashing either at least) Personally, I still like santas as a long-term investment. They're not in favor with the street right now, which is why I like them. I bought two yesterday below mid just to dip my toe back in the water. I had 20 before, but I sold on the spike and used the proceeds to get a red.
