  1. Might be buyable in GE -- I heard they crashed today.
  2. I'm looking to buy a white partyhat and someone is selling on rsof for cash. (junk is brine sabres) His final offer was 1.848M, quite insane if you ask me, even for a partyhat... Actually, if you have the cash, that may be a good deal.
  3. I'd say the red is closer to 2.5-2.75 easters really, but it doesn't matter too much. For white, you'd be better off trading eggs for pump+disk to trade for that, so the egg value is a bit iffy on it. Now street values. Yes edibles have extremely high street values, but they don't represent the street value of the partyhat. Even if someone had the junk, no one in their right mind would pay over 1B for a partyhat besides blue and maybe (big maybe) white. Asking for a cash value on the higher three partyhats is just out of the question really. Edible trades are what run that market anyway and you'd be better off asking for those. This also goes to people trying to find a cash value of partyhats; you'd be better off finding what they are worth in edibles than in gp because it's near impossible to ever find a partyhat under green selling for gp. These street prices still are off. I've bought and sold red three times this week. Nobody will sell red for 3 easters. The going price is 1 disk and 1 easter, which is well over three easters. I have no idea on white. If someone wanted to buy a red for cash (which nobody does), the cash price would be over 1B. It's easy to calculate. Take the street price of disk less GE price. Add street price of egg less GE price. Then add GE price of red. I'm sure that's over 1B. You're right, though, that nobody has that much junk. That's why you have to build up starting with edibles. But, if you're starting off with nothing but a cash pile and hope to get a red phat in the end, you'll need more than 1B. That's because it will take that much to get the disk, the egg and then to complete the trade for the red.
  4. I find coifs pretty good and combo them up with fletching maple longs to get the fletching and crafting rocks. If you buy the gold bars, bracelets will cover the costs and make a little profit selling min on ge. Why not do gold neckalces? You can sell them for w/e the min price is on the GE to the rogue person. Gold bars are like 110gp each and gold necklaces at min on the ge atm are 227. I've been making gold bracelets and alching them. Perhaps necklaces would be a better idea?
  5. There must be more to it. You get a better reward for opening songs! On the other hand, maybe this is a bone to the whiners who can't beat Nomad? If so, I don't think it will work.
  6. Agility is the only one that I actually gave up on before getting both stones -- still have one in my bank. I like the extra incentive to train agility, and I like the extra xp (if I ever get it), but I'm close to going to the low wall method.
  7. I'm no pro, but, right now, I'd trade green and blue for red, if I could.
  8. That is exactly why I am sad. I could of sold 3 santas for 200M, wait for them to drop and buy 4-5 santa. Here's what you don't want to do: Sell for min as soon as they start selling again in GE. I always think of santas and masks in relation to each other. All are crashing right now because they had gone ridiculously high. But my opinion is that the santa will come back sooner and stronger than the blue and green masks. Those babies have a long way to fall yet. Every newb who could scrape his 76K-won cash together bought one on the way up, and I expect them to dump like crazy. Thanks for the advice, I will hold on to them to about July or sell them before that, if the prices are good (hopefuly, they will rise before that). Also can santas/masks be flipped like other items if you have the cash and they are stable? Here's what I"m doing, again, FWIW. I have one santa in GE at min. (I don't have any masks atm, but I'd do the same thing with them if I had any.) I'll keep moving my santa down as the ge price crashes. When it sells, I'll wait for GE to update and then try to buy back at min. If it buys instantly, I'll put it back in at min. If it takes a while to buy at min, or if it doesn't buy at all for min, then I'll put one in to sell at max/mid. Eventually, I'll start selling at max and buying at something less than that. So, to answer your question, yes, you can flip santas and masks (when they're stable) just like anything else. (Of course, the big constraint is that you can buy only 2 at a time.) I'm not much of a merchant, but I probably make most of my money flipping these small rares, when they're stable.
  9. I will forever say "HP." If newbs don't know what I'm talking about, so much the better.
  10. Tmk, 3a is crashing, too. Fwiw, here's my approach to 3a: I only buy the stuff that I wouldn't mind being stuck with. That means I only buy one or two at a time. It also means that I don't buy a 3a shield since there always are other things I'd rather do with my shield slot.

  12. For there to be so few bans, Jagex must have been very tolerant in their definition of abuse. The banned accounts must have been really hard-core cheaters. My guess is that most (or all) of the perma bans probably were not legit accounts anyway. I'll bet that the listed "top ten" all got temporary bans.
  13. This smells like a buying opportunity to me. Ima wait for prices to move a little more, sell all my raw materials and buy high end items, then wait for high end items to go back up, sell them back at a profit and buy materials back when prices settle down. I'll just extra xp skills that don't require raw materials.
  14. Check out the topic like 2 under this one. In short, people were able to turn 1 dbolt into 12 enchanted dbolts. People were making 60M+ per hour worth and I hear of people with many B worth. Jagex is going into banhammer mode atm so if those abusers bought rares with the GP then those rares are going to leave the game. My guess is that few if any of these accounts bought major rares. As we've discussed many times, a large cash pile does not equal the ability to buy a partyhat. However, it's conceivable that some of these could have bought masks and/or santas. Perhaps that explains the extremely strong buyout of these items that previously had been impossible to buy out for long? Anyway, if a lot of santas and masks disappear, we could end up with a world in which partyhats are not the only rares that can't be bought with gp.
  15. Of the 30 93+ slayers I have talked this over with, only about half have fire-capes. Berlin wall? Pshh, that wall got torn down. This is more like the wall dividing Cyprus, that is alive and kicking. On a serious note though: serious analysis requires thorough examination and reasoned argumentation :P I'll be 93 Slayer eventually, but will never have Firecape due to my degenerative issues with the joints in my hands. Nice to know when I get that level, I'll be able to do them. Ya'll are starting to scare me about how hard Jad will be when I give it a go someday. I also have a degenerative issue with the joints in my hands -- it's called old age. I'm a horrible clicker -- regularly get my butt whipped anytime I try anything like pvp. But I've always assumed that with a little patience I'd be able to put up the right prayer at the right time. Is it really impossible for any but the most agile?
  16. U-p-g-r-a-y-e-d-d? Sorry, but when I spell it normally, it goes to the normal spelling of upgrade. I wonder who changed that? <_< Someone who's tired of all the whining? Maybe they have a two-year-old at home and are trying to shield themselves from even more whining here? oh chill out. I'm not whining about the update. Just when Ninane said the thing about 2009 I thought it was was funny. I also don't think they should specifically code the forums a certain way to change one this word I said. And I don't whine anyway. I criticize. I'm a curmudgeon. There's a difference. Frankly, I'm tired of all the whining about whining. Maybe I'd be more popular on here if I told Jagex how great they are and how every update is awesome? One man's incessant criticism of even the smallest things is another man's whining.

  18. I am shocked, SHOCKED I say, that anyone would suggest that any aspect of an MMORPG is a waste of time! Oh, wait, now that I think about it, serving as a time sink is a primary purpose of the game -- never mind! Seriously, though, believe it or not, some people actually like the "street value" game. Others refuse to play it. (I refuse to play Trouble Brewing -- does that mean nobody should be allowed to play it?) I never implied that you shouldn't be allowed to do it. I simply cannot fathom why anyone would do it as I find it to be horridly boring and pointless. That's just my opinion though. Gotcha. Btw, I tend to agree, but I can't seem to help myself. When there's stuff in the game that I don't have, I keep trying to get it. Sooner or later, I'll probably even give the fight caves a shot!

  20. Hope you're planning to play for a long time! Easter's GE price is less than 1/3 it's street price.
  21. My advice would be to forget about the cracker and focus on the blue partyhat. I don't do pvp, so I don't know about these statues, but I cannot imagine how they possibly could be worth more than their trade-in value. Are they even tradeable? In any event, they have no use apart from trading them in for cash. The first thing you need to do is get in the game. This means buying something with a street price above market price. A cash pile will be largely irrelevant to the purchase of a blue partyhat. I doubt any partyhat owner would want to collect that much junk, and they won't want cash anyway. Here's a plan for you: Buy three easters for cash. Figure on about $900m total. You can then use those easters to buy a red. (Actually, you should be able to put some junk with it or take hooks or something coming back.) Once you have the red, you can buy more easters for cash to trade up to a white. I'm not exactly sure how much you would need. Master Smither probably could help there. You might actually need to buy multiple easters, which you could turn into a disk or pump. Once you have the white, rinse and repeat until you have enough for the blue. Again, Master Smither can give you some idea just what you'll need. What I'm trying to show you is that you won't be able to go straight from cash to blue. Probably the most direct method would be to buy easters for cash, turn the easters into pumps, and collect enough pumps to convince someone to give you a blue. Even then, you might need a white or at least a red to throw in.
  22. Are we just trolling now? Surely anyone who has read any part of this thread understands that you can't buy those things for cash? The blue phat question was addressed relatively recently by MasterSmither -- check his recent posts to the thread. There is no market for the cracker, so it's impossible to name a street price.
  23. This. Lunar staff is the only thing in the poll that I actually use the most (for fairy rings). :( Bows... we have rune c'bow that is better for the job. Robes... ahrim and void beats it. (who cares about repair bills since we are already blowing money on runes) Robin hat... armadyl / archer what your average rs player would use... Pet rock... it doesnt follow you around, you cant equipt it... argh, i hate rsof... Since when can you not equip the pet rock?
  24. Please don't mention the mint cake nerf -- I sacrificed a half dozen santas to get mints. Fortunately, I turned some into an easter before the nerf, but I was still left with 25 mints. (I turned down an offer of a green phat for the easter, eight mints and junk.) The easter has turned out ok, but I lost my shirt on those mints.
  25. I agree with you. I'm a little queezy about masks because they're so ridiculously high right now, but, in the long run, I imagine they'll be fine, and I see no reason for them to crash in the short run. Masks might go sideways for a while like santas did for a few months, but I don't see any major crash on the horizon.
