  1. The rarest item is the Thingy or the Truffle
  2. I'm actually happy it didnt come out today. My last final exam is today and I'm glad to have no reason to even consider spending some time on RS until tomorrow when im done for the summer.
  3. And both of those creatures are Heavily based off of the archetypal D&D Monster, the Beholder (and all Beholderkind.) The Beholder is a large floating fleshy creature with a massive eyeball and maw and six eye stalks that it files magic beams and such from. There are many variations of these kind, which the only constant being "Large floating Orb with a big eye and lots of smaller eyes." Sound familiar? When you accuse content of being ripped off of other content, you should take the time to guess that they may in fact, simply be based off of the same source.
  4. Also, I'm pretty sure that saying "You stole that from D&D" is like saying "You stole dragons from mythology!" Granted, to a lesser extent, but D&D is so popular that taking stuff from it is more of a reference than stealing. Especially since pretty much every game that ever existed is at least slightly based on the game. MMO's like Runescape and WoW have been literally based on it from the beginning.
  5. No, you simply have to defeat 10 Lower Champions to fight the Human Champion. It's entirely possible that the first 10 you kill could, for example, not include Hill Giants but instead include Banshees. You'd then need to kill Hill Giants (and whatever other two champions you have left) to fight the Gnome Champion. Thank you for all the kind words.
  6. Yeah whenever people ask about places to use the Bonecrusher, I usually recommend they go after Champion's Challenge. yes you can get Banshee before Human/Jogre, etc. There is no preset order to which champion scrolls must be obtained at all.
  7. No, but I bet if you wait long enough, Nech's will be given a Champ Scroll =P
  8. Yeah I feel a little guilty for robbing that Dwarf blind. The point of the guild is to take from the obscenely reach right? Well, I didn't just take some of him money, but ALL of it! That said, he shouldn't be putting all his money into one resource. =P
  9. It would seem that Hawking supports a Lovecraftian based alien form. They're terrifying and not neccesarily organic. Go ahead and look at some of those Lovecraft Aliens sometime. Often times they're sentient cosmic matter or living radiation or something crazy like that. And it's not too rare that they end up killing people or driving them insane simply because they happened to walk by. If I'm walking down a road and an ant is in the way, I don't swerve my path to get out of the way. I probably didnt even notice it. Everyone says that our planet wouldn't be worth harvesting for resources. If they're looking for Oxygen or Water...
  10. Winnar! Hehe. Just had to do it. In regards to the staves: On average, I will lose money per 10 uses. I might save money with luck. I might lose money with luck. It can go either way. Reguardless, losing 10 gp per teleport on average is worth speeding up things, such as D Bone altering. That one bone over 20k bones will save ~800 trips, so I'm sure that the money lost while using it can be made up in the time saved. As for the nature staff... You can super heat one extra ore? That **** is just bad. If anything the Nature Staff is better for this. I can't site a specific example, but I'm fairly certain that while I was superheating Addy Ore I was a bit angry because one more inventory space would unlock another ore.
  11. I suppose the Law Staff is worth it for the Inventory Space when training skills where you teleport a lot.
  12. Honestly these Bonus Exp weekends are silly. Theres a reason behind the XP rates of every skill.
  13. It's worth noting that Runescape likely has a special place for Andrew. This MMO is more than a game concocted for profit and success, it was originally made as a non-profit game for Andrew to play with his friends. Granted, it has changed drastically since those days, but I feel that Andrew will try to keep it online and running for as long as he possibly can.
  14. Most of the so called "rough rates" that I actually pay attention to are ones that have been researched to a pretty heavy extent. Running this data through various statistical analysis methods generally ends in the same results, so I trust them. Your logic would suggest that it's only coincidence that people don't get visages as often as dragon platelegs, as there apparently is no probability number attached to any drops.
  15. Drop table. Each drop is assigned a range of numbers. Game generates random number. Number decides drop. it's called probability. When someone says something like a 1/2500 drop rate, it means on average you recieve one 1/2500 of the time. We know this is not GUARENTEED. But when programming in a monster drop table, a probability rate must be chosen. All youre arguing is the semantics of what we call it.
  16. That's true, but the larger your test sample, the closer you should get to the theoredical value. With people doing 100k+ alches to 99, it's fairly safe to say that you'll save a number at least close enough to 10% that using the 10% in the math makes sense. True plus they say 1/10 not about 1/10 whihc suggests it will do it often enuff to be fairly accurately 1/10. Where as monster drop rates are purely player inventions Any random event has an associated probability with it. Drop rates exist. The nature staff saves money when you superheat. I think the law staff would save money for trollheim/ardougne/watchtower teleport and is about the same with telegrab. But of course not worth my tokens. Monsters have drop tables where drops are picked by random number generation; no rates involved Please don't argue semantics like that. When people say Drop Rate, they mean Drop Probability. Everyone knows this. It's completely unnecessary to specify it.
  17. It's worth noting that "1/10" is a relatively high probability and thus unlikely for you to get a really screwed result unless you only do like 50 alchs ever. People have crazy dry streaks because of things like 1/2500 drop rates, but with a 1/10, I can almost guarantee that you will end up with a number extremely close to 10% even with only 1000 alchs. And im sure you plan on alching more than that if you buy a Nature Staff.
  18. What you heard was true until Jagex recently went through their database and fixed all those errors. They will drop a scroll now. Even Barrows Skeletons can drop one.
  19. I heard a theory that Ruby Dragon refers to the next Myreque Quest for two reasons. One: Ruby is the next gem to be added to the Ivandis Flail. Two: Drakan, the vyre king, has a name that means dragon. I feel that the obvious Dragonkin influence behind the vyres also supports this point. I am aware that this guess is a bit of a stretch though so i'm only presenting it as an interesting thought. I sure hope so, Myreque questline is my favorite.
  20. I wish they would wrap up the old storylines, or at least ADVANCE the gnome or myreque one by a step. That said, this quest seems interesting and when it comes out I will be quite happy. Quests are my favorite thing in runescape.
  21. If I may make a recommendation? Try completing the original 10 champion scrolls. All the monsters drop bones (err. except Lesser Demons. So skip him.) and all are easy to kill. Then you'll have a IX Banner to show for your trouble!
  22. These weapons are actually money sinks. To buy recharges, it's 200k for gravite weapons and 2000k for chaotic. That'll help a little.
  23. I'm sure you current girlfriend would appreciate the way you wish you were with your ex?
  24. Im betting that killing Bilrach will be a quest that requires you to have reached the bottom of Daemonheim.
