Burnin' / Too Long by Daft Punk

It's definitely better than some of your older stuff, still needs lots of improvement; Contrast - There is none - I recall you use GIMP, so I don't know about adjustments on there, but a black layer on overlay mode will add some contrast Stuff over the render - It can look good, but it is hard to get right. My suggestion is to remove the layer above which is creating that effect. Background - Everything is good, in moderation - the amount of brushing you've used just detracts from the final piece - I only tend to use brushes to create part of a background. A better way to make backgrounds is by smudging. You'll get better with practice - you seem determined.

I see where you are coming from, though if you made whatever font you used in bold, and then tried an effect to do it, it might work - always good to try things out ;)
