Well currently everyone who doesn't have the most votes have worthless votes in that sense. Weaker parties are the one to most likely benefit from the change to AV. Before you cry about a party like the BNP party being more likely to raise to power, the only way for them to would be more that 50% of the votes, as one way or another 50% + 1 have to support the party for them to gain the seat.
  2. Picnic! I really enjoy taking girls ice skating, I'm good enough at it to impress them, and most of the time I get to teach them how to skate, which is a great way to start talking with them as you can easily joke about how much they suck. If you don't start turning it to praise at how they're improving they won't want to talk with you later though.

I've only been in one accident, and I was being a safe driver. I'll do 160 going from where I live to town, because I know the road and the spots where I need to do the limit to make sure I'm not going to roll.

Err, that's not how AV voting works, out of the 3 your preferences would be like this: BALLOT [2] Generic Left Party [3] Labor [1] Party X Party X does not gain enough votes, and so they're out of the race. You had Party X as 1, and so your second preference now gets your vote; which, would you look at it, is Generic Left Party! Now lets say that the number of supporters for Party X would have given them enough votes to win, but because you only get 1 choice with FPTP and most people thought Party X wouldn't win, enough people instead voted for Generic Left Party to put Party X in 3rd place, knocking them out. With AV, people don't have to do that and can put Party X as their first preference, and still put Generic Left Party as their second preference, should Party X not get enough votes. FPTP heavily favours the two-three major parties.
  5. Knowing you, it's more believable than you doing it yourself.

You put them as last, I put the Labor party below the Christian party last year because I'd rather fundies in than those stupid [bleep]s in. In the end they got in anyway, and now everyone is crying about how they're [bleep]ing up. Wish the Greens had given their preferences to Liberal. Liberal would never try to [bleep]ing sell of parts of the government to make their budget look better.

    Why is it stupid?

Here in Australia they do, as voting is compulsory. The number of people who either do a donkey vote (just number each candidate from 1-whatever in order of who is first on the list) or write "[bleep] you" on the ballot papers is appalling.

Remember the 48÷2(9+3) = ???? thread? It's happening on facebook in the form of 6/2(1+2). The two choices were 1 and 9. The fact that 637,000 people voted for 1 tells me that the whole schooling system is failed and needs to be built from the ground up.

So I've figured I should be able to buy a car in June some time. I shall use this calm before the storm well (doubt I'll see my bank hit $1,000 for a while after I buy a car.)

Of course there is chance for deadlock in FPTP. It is much more likely though with AV. Australia has used AV for god knows how long, I don't recall ever hearing of this occurring here. Actually, it's 50% + 1 vote. Source please.

SUCCESS! After 4 hours, I am able to do things on my computer again. Got a new CPU for my birthday and bought a new mobo and 8GB ram to go with it. This meant I was finally able to update to 64 bit. Alas, I was having troubles with finding guides to moving Users and Program Files to my other HDD to allow me to at least keep all my Steam games. 5 tries later and I didn't destroy some vital Windows files. Who ever says they've been trying to stop you from [bleep]ing up your computer easily was lying. The easiest way I did it was not editing a registry file, which made the user accounts disappear and so I couldn't log on.

This is why if I had a sexual partner weather its friends with benefits or a girlfriend I'd want her to have the rod. because if we did it without rubbers (or in fear of with, in your instance) both wouldn't have to worry. If she was it would have either been because one broke just enough.

Guns may have been made for killing, but it was killing with a reason behind it. I'd like to see you effectively cull thousands of animals with a knife. Sure, you can post statistics, but mine are backed up with peer-reviewed sources. If they can prove it was in self defence, yes. However, 100 people all killing 5 people in self defence before the police could arrive is highly unlikely. Sure, if you're willing to supply me with the cost of moving, buy my house and sell me a house. Oh, and supply me with the money to afford the elevated costs each week. You see, my current financial situation doesn't afford me such a luxury, however a $200 gun and $50 in ammo provides me a source of protection to which none else compare; a cheap, yet efficient one.

OH THANK ODIN IN HEAVEN! Ex went to the doctor and had a test, came up negative.

Just a quick hypothetical for the gun control advocates, if people started killing 20+ people in one attack using nothing but a kitchen knife, would you also advocate knife control in the same sense as you're advocating gun control?

Wow, just found out about Project Gunrunner, in the US the BATF are supplying guns to the Mexican drug cartels, they then later use eTrace to show which guns they recovered come from the US. Not only does this artificially inflate the success of eTrace and the amount of US firearms being sold to Mexicans, but it has also cost at least one person their life.

Ex says she's still late, by now it's nearing a month late, am worried.
  25. Not even the occasional glass of red when dining out? I used to smoke and even though I've stopped smoke doesn't bother me in the slightest. If I could find a girl who could come close to out-swearing me I'd be in love. Yeah I don't think dizzle's old enough to take a girl to a restaurant and have her order red wine. Good point.
