In that case I am in a romance with everyone I have ever known and every member of the Tavern. My point in the post was that Sex is typically ASSIGNED that role, and so, to have a meaningful conversation, we have to accept that role. Elsewise we might as well all be speaking different languages because we wouldn't have any reference points in common. I meant that both ways, not just as in not minding not having it, but also the other way around.

Never did I think I would have to tell a gay guy that sex isn't all there is to romance. I mean yeah, recent years the term romance has been more abused than the teachings of the Abrahaic religions, but still, it's not that hard to grasp. Being horny is when you desire to sleep with a person, romance is when you don't care if you get laid as long as you can make the other person happy. You want something to separate friends and romance by? Would you risk your life just to make the other person smile? If yes then it's romance, if no then it's friendship.

Well that is the difference in what you do, but there is also the matter of what you feel when you are together, which is where what I said above comes in.

Why did you assume I meant sexual enjoyment? What I meant is that to me that phrasing says enjoy being together in a romantic sense, as in you take pleasure from eachother's proximity. Because the way some literary, poetic and cinematic works describe the characters as feeling more complete when physically close is an actual thing.

Since you you formulated it that way. Note how these sentences get entirely different meanings: "I enjoy spending time with Ouyso." (Ouyso is a fun guy to be around.) "Ouyso enjoys spending time with me." (Ouyso benefits from my presence.) "Ouyso enjoys spending time with me, and I with him." (Ouyso benefits from my presence and I find it rewarding.) "Ouyso and I enjoy spending time together." (Serious bromance going on.) "Ouyso and I hang out. We enjoy spending time with eachother." (Ouyso and I are dating.)

I'm at quite a different position, I'm desperate to give anyone a chance (as long as they're female and around my age) but I only actually care about personality, and the only girls I know well enough to fall for have already rejected me. So I'm stuck at wondering "who the [bleep] am I going to flirt with?", and the answer of course ends up being no one. I've also got the confidence to ask someone out, but even if I were to find out who I'd ask out, I'm still socially retarded so I have no idea how one goes about dating.

And yeah, good luck, Nex. Now at least one male here in the Tavern is in a relationship.

No, I'm not that pale, that was just my phone's saturation being off. As you can remember I have often been talking about my tan, and the fact that it doesn't go away hasn't stopped being a thing. The scar you can faintly make out as a brown line inside the red area is in fact a yellowish purple right now, about the same color as a really bad bruise.

Just managed to fall asleep a heating panel (the kind used in schools that utilize hot water), it seems my hand is now halfway cooked. [spoiler=Spoilered for large, not disturbing] EDIT: Damnit, the loss of math and natural science has cost me, my average is down from 4.1 last semester to 3.9 this one. I've just got to hope this presentation will pull my Norwegian grades up for this semester, that there'll be less actual politics in political science, be more active in English class and get around going to the gym with Ouyso so I can do some cardio and get back my stamina for P.E. Sort of ironic that the class I got 5 in was the one I've just been screwing around in, but that's where my natural aptitude for electronics and coding comes in, also my disrespect for anti-piracy laws.

It's Å/å, or alt+951/alt+0741 for anyone that doesn't have a Scandinavian keyboard. And hey, I did handle that tree pretty well, and I did so without even moving. Besides they would kill him before me, and then I could just disappear underground.

EDIT: Oh, wounds... Didn't she heal those? Anyways, I've only had the one to my head, the rest of the time Aeon's weather screw-ups only bounced off.

Yeah... one wound each... And no, Aeon is behind most of us by a lot more than 1 point,

Inb4mauledbybear. I'm thinking the wound system is a bit superfluous this early in the game. We're gaining power quickly enough that some of us will be able to take on demons before long. Where's the Google? Where's the Thunder Knight? Where are... those other guys? We haven't seen anything but humans and mundane animals, which is kind of dull. But I suppose that'll change soon enough. A bear put up a decent fight against me and Jen, and that shouldn't even compare to a demon. There's no way you could handle one soon.

It just occurred to me that I have been shirtless since I emerged from the ruins of the bar. Suddenly everything I have done becomes a whole lot more of both awkward and manly.

Our system over here doesn't quite translate into that system. To put it as it would be for tests: 1 = You wrote your name on the paper and handed it in. 2 = Were you drunk when you did this? 3 = You gave it a fair shot. 4 = You know the topic. 5 = You're good at the topic. 6 = You answered perfectly on every question/you know more than you should about the topic.

Huh? All I could understand from that is that either the American school system is a stoner, or people got so high grades that they upped the requirements for the grades, which made even more people get high grades. And knowing the stereotypical American, the latter seems improbable. The first makes sense though.

You guys sure have a weird grading system, we just get 1-6 in each of our classes and then if we want to compare we get the average, but schools and employers just look at each grade.

Anyways the site is up again, looks like it's using a system that downgrades the network when it doesn't need the full capacity.

First of all it's not hurting them, secondly this means they can't do it to more people. What I'm doing is just occupying the stockades to save people from the misery that is groundless, non-constructive criticism.

DDOSing a website because its community gave a fanadventure author lasting depression. Feels great man. :ugeek: BTW: It's a fanart site with a community that loves to make people feel like shit, so it's no big loss.

It's better to keep the audience entertained, or in this case give them something that doesn't hurt their eyes and ears while they're on Facebook or Youtube, or playing WoW or random Flash games. I agree with you about that, but just because the game they're playing isn't up to any modern standards it can still mean they're proper gamers. WoW players can unlike the scene girls who play flash games and Angry Birds pull all-nighters, and unlike those who only play CoD, CS:S or Battlefield they can talk with eachother about other things than sexual intercourse with eachother's mothers.

I don't think I'll be labeled an asshat for making a presentation about Runescape in a class full of proper gamers (proper in the sense that they play games like WoW and Skyrim, not just Battlefield or CoD like so many people our age). I can only think of three people in my class that aren't gamers, and two of them only make presentations about metal bands and are generally supportive of any strange ideas such as this so I'm in the safe there.
