Well its time I finally say a very hard goodbye to my RuneScape days. Between college, commitments, friends, and family I'm seeing less and less playtime. I never really pictured this day ever arriving and have been dreading it truly. While I did not get to reach my second goal of 99 smithing, I didn't need to achieve to already have a smile a mile wide. That smile doesn't come from the achievements I've accomplished...it comes from knowing that I have truly made some friends here. I really love you all...there is something about the Tip.It community that really impresses me. Always maintain the great unity that exists here and know how great a thing that is. Bye folks.

P.S. I placed the names of every single person who has ever commented on my blog in a virtual magic hat and raffled off my four remaining 3 Month RuneScape membership cards as a goodbye present. Enjoy :^_^:.

    Congratulations to the following people...

Sadly in the midst of getting ready for the 4th of July weekend, something very hard hit my heart. Today I had to say goodbye to my dog Skippy. I adopted Skippy along with my cat Tiger Lilly several years ago from my neighbor. Skippy was older than Lilly, but he was the biggest kid you would have ever met. When I first adopted him, he use to take running leaps toward me and had a million dollar smile. Over the years as he aged, it got tougher for him to run up to me, but he never lost his trademark smile and the little wag in his tail. This year had been his most difficult but you wouldn't know it. Till today he was at my feet, licking my fingers and grinning with all the cheer he could muster.

He had been very ill this week and there was no way we could hold off a visit to the vet until after the 4th. We took him in and got the news we did not want to hear. They asked us if we wanted to stay. We did. I stood there. My heart sank.

It got me thinking. Everyone in this world deserves the comfort of having someone there. I do not surround myself with fake friends. The number of true friends I have, I can count on one hand. But you do not know how blessed I feel to have them. Please I urge those of you reading this blog now, go pick up the phone and call that friend of yours that you haven't talked to for 5 years, sit down and have a dinner with your mom and dad, or go up to that special someone you have feelings for and admit your love to them. This is what really matters at the end of the day.

    R.I.P. Skippy

I can certainly say that I am truly Lady Happiness today! After a bit of an agonizing wait, I have made it to level 97 smithing. My body is shaking at the thought that I am only 2 steps away from finishing this journey. I will become a real dwarf of RuneScape by possessing one of the sweetest duo 99s. Unfortunately I'm not sure I can enlist with the other dwarfs at the Mining Guild due to a certain height requirement. All jokes aside, I am enthralled in this moment! Every level up feels like its own mini-99 to me. I get the same feeling of excitement, accomplishment, and ecstasy. I really am lucky to have so many supporters that have constantly nudged me along on this journey. Thanks a million folks <3:...

In non-smithing news, I have a grand total of 120k gold bars and have gained 24 million mining xp. Another sweet thing that has happened to come my way, is the fact I have been deemed a champion of the Judges faction in the RuneScape Triumvirate . Its been really fun working with Tip.Iters and non-Tip.Iters alike, and the challenges have been a blast! Well thats pretty much the gist of all the happy coincidences in the life of ol' Lady S. See you all around :D!
  4. Lady_Shahdie
Well folks lately Lady S has given her faithful pickaxe a rest and done something highly unlike her...she engaged in bloody combat for the Triumvirate wars . This massive community event has become incredibly enthralling. I have really enjoyed the indepth Roleplaying that has spawned from it. Though I'm a little disappointed with the lack of skilling challenges, I have actually found the Realm vs. Realm (a world wide massive PVP event) and the Castle Wars challenges to be...FUN. I was requested twice to serve as a commander or second commander for these events and have managed to be on the winning side both those times  . I did serve on a team that lost, but it was a commendable tie. Still though, how does a little combat noob, who'd rather solve her problems by whacking it with a pickaxe than lead a squadron, manage to prevail?! Someone please explain to me.

We've had some epic matchups so far and the Judges (my team) ended up taking home the gold for the Realm vs. Realm challenge. Castle Wars has been more of a rough going but I'm proud to say as the assumed "combat underdogs" the Judges have taken two victories. Anyways didn't mean to bore you non-Triumvirate folks with this entry its just lately this has been whats engaging the little play time I've been scrounging up as of late. Oh and before I go...I found doing the following in CW to be incredibly amusing  :

Looks like hitting things with a pickaxe is quite a viable option!

What a charmed life I lead folks. This week I aced 2 exams, amassed over 100k gold bars, leveled to 96 smithing, got featured on the official RuneScape Youtube channel, and now to top it off I get to make the day of 2 very lucky people :D!

So without further adieu the winners are

Yes congratulations to darkdwarfiv, Laikrob, and OH MY GOD...Laikrob again . Thats what I call lucky! Be sure to check your Tip.It inbox for your card codes and let me know how everything goes ;). I really hope you all enjoyed this contest as much as I did.

I would like to take this time however to remind you to reach into your heart and give back to some very worthwhile organizations. As a big Celebrity Apprentice fan, I can advocate for the organizations listed here. Be sure to Google them and if you have the monetary means, give what you can. I wish you all a nice Spring and fantastic Summer ahead. See you around!

Can it be? Can I really have reached level 96 smithing? Why yes...yes I have . I am three, count 'em, three steps away from achieving my goal. My pulse is racing at the thought of making it to the finish line. The cape I have worn for so long will no longer remain untrimmed. It will dipped at the sides into a can of cyan paint and look shinier than ever before. There will soon be no armor that I cannot smith in dungeoneering and I will be able to outfit my comrades in the hawtest of promethium plates (*cough* as I have already *cough*). Every time I tell you dear blog readers that I never pictured what these moments would be like. While that sounds really cliche it is the truth. Nothing could prepare me for this ecstasy I feel. The gratification that another long road is winding down to its end. When I got 99 mining, it really felt that another 99 would be out of reach, that I did not have the stuff to do it all over again. The fact that I'm coming close to repeating this feat proves to me I can do it. I cannot tell you how thankful I am to those of you who have constantly supported me and assured me that it is within my grasp.

    [hide=Level 96 screenshot][/hide]

In other news, I have accumulated 23 million mining xp and approaching the ranks of RuneScape's top 200 miners. Its only gonna get better and better my friends . Also click on the banner up there if you haven't already. The mining division of the contest has had very few entries. However the current winning entry is quite astounding, not going to state it here so you won't be discouraged, search every comment page of the post if you're really curious :P.

Guys a landmark achievement just happened. I have actually mined and smelted 100k gold bars since I began this journey. I am shocked, awed, and frightened all at the same time . 99 smithing is still a long ways off and I still have 65k bars to chew through. I truly do not know if I am crazy enough to follow through with this but I am getting tantalisingly closer and closer. Several people keep asking what I'm going to do with the bars once this is all over. Selling it would help a poor miner such as myself get a bit of gp in her bank but it would leave me guilty for not capitalizing on the crafting xp. To be honest though, it would be hard to make inexpensive gold jewellery because there is no such thing as inexpensive gold jewellery XD. I could try saph stuff but the xp makes it quite unworthy and it would take well over the amount of gold bars I currently have. At the end of the day I'm just happy to have faithfully kept my bars this long and watch them grow for the fun of it.

    100K NOTES OF INSANITY BABY!

  9. Lady_Shahdie
Well it seems Jagex is embracing the roleplaying community events quite a bit lately. Their latest concoction plays off the ancient forces of the gods and has split the realm of RuneScape into factions. There is the evil faction known as The Reavers, a good faction known as The Lords, and a balanced faction known as The Judges. To get a better understanding of what your choice entails, I made a spoof enlistment video (or you can skip my machinima shenanigans and go straight to the official forum thread :P ):

Video quality may still be processing so be patient.

Folks I had quite the experience this morning ! It was 6 am or so and I could hear some audible commotion outside in my garden. I wearily looked out the window and see my mom huddled over this little Blue Jay chick. She was hurriedly instructing my dad to grab this or that and I had to ask what in the world was going on !

She pointed to its left wing and indicated how he had hurt it a bit. He was bumping against the side of our wall and the poor thing was starting to get exhausted. I swear I think my mom's a bird whisperer...she told us to grab some hand towels to cover its eyes first and place it somewhere safe. We gave her the towels, she delicately draped it over his eyes and he didn't so much as move.

Now to those of you saying you should have staid away, your heart would have broken for this thing. We live in snake country and we have discovered at least 10 snakes every year in our yard. In the current location it was in, it was pretty exposed to all those nasty sort of reptiles. Though we knew it might not reunite with its mother, we felt the least we could do is put it somewhere safer.

So my mom grabbed a basket, hung it on one of our trees, lined it with another towel, and set it there. The poor thing was panting and you could see his chest moving up and down quickly. It was obviously thirsty. I remember hearing that those birds particularly enjoy berries for nutrition and hydration. So I mashed up some strawberries and we grabbed a small turkey baster. We carefully motioned the turkey baster to its mouth and wouldn't you know it, it actually opened its mouth and let us feed it <333.

Finally, we stepped back inside to give it some space and left the strawberries next to him. We periodically checked the window from time to time...and then...we were shocked by what we saw! We saw a large shadow passing by the little thing several times. At first we thought it was a bird of prey or something...but no...it was its mom <3:. She tore a bit of the strawberry we left and fed him a bit more. It was the most endearing thing I ever saw.

So at the end of the day, this story had a happy ending. All I can think of now, is that little guy, my god...it was quite an experience.

Thats right folks! What seemed like a snail of a level up is finally done and in the history books. I now possess level 95 smithing! My journey is literally winding down to its final stages. It makes me feel a bit teary-eyed to be honest. Ever since I began RuneScape I envisioned myself with 99 mining and 99 smithing. It doesn't seem like I'm really getting there but I actually am O.O. Of course I have some other plans once this is finished but still...this is quite a milestone for me. A new 99 shall soon be mine...

    [hide=Level 95 screenshot][/hide]

In other news, I catapulted to 21 million mining xp and have amassed over 90k GOLD BARS.

    CAN YOU SAY BLING-BLING?
  12. Lady_Shahdie
Hey all, in the midst of video making and smithing to 99...RuneScape just had to hit old Lady Shahdie on the head with Dungeoneering :ohnoes:. While I'm mainly leveling the skill for research purposes I have gained a strange liking of it. I find it an intriguing skill but a bit too raw in development of its potential. So I just wanted to post this update to let you know whats stalling my progress so much and why you're seeing my adventure log clog up with dungeon bosses killed and floors breached . What are your thoughts personally?

Those titles are right about one thing...I am indeed "beserk" XD!

Hello dear blog readers! It would seem that a fair share of friends have been nagging me to pieces about doing another karaoke. As some of you may recall, back in January I debuted a video of me singing the Pokemon theme song. Recently the vid was posted again and I even harkened back to it in my last entry. Ever since that dreaded day I was forced to sing that song for the annual TET Slave AuctionI have received countless pms to sully my pride and sing again XD!

Well, the wait is finally over. I have yet again produced a new video showcasing my ermsinging  . To those who suffer any ill side effects after listening to it, you have my deepest apologies. So sit back, relax, and listen to a parody of Lady Gagas Telephone called Ill Be Minin. It tells of a crazed miner who was rejected by her love and decides to go out for a night of mining and pub hopping!

Well I certainly got a kick out of Tip.It's April Fools Day festivities. For those of you that were not around to indulge in our bit of mischief or those who just wanna relive the fun, I present to you...

Reminiscent of the Night of the Living Pikachu, the staff decided to outdue the efforts that us crewbies had made during last year's Halloween high jinks. This meant not only building a Pokemon army, but creating an unstoppable wave of Pokemania to overthrow the entire Tip.It forum. We each took on a Pokemon persona and created countless avatars/sigs to match. In between we also brainstormed other bits of mischief such as an entire forum dedicated to Pokespeak. Here's a look at all mayhem!

    Pokepersonalities!
It all started with what Pokemon each of us were going to choose to unveil on the magic day. Some of us chose Pokemon relevant to our personalities, style, or temperament. I chose Persian, as it was a feline Pokemon and I myself am of Persian descent :D! We even had some cute Pokecouples like ForsakenMage and Necromagus being Nidoqueen and Nidoking. Each choice seemed to fit all of us naturally like a glove.

We started unveiling them by posting sprites in the forums for the now running Rank Contest. Little did the users know what was coming. Conspiracy theories ensued and the suspense was beginning to build. We finally couldn't contain our Pokepersonalities any longer and brought them to Forum Games!

    Pi Ka Pikachu! (Silly Posts)
Following our Forum Games onslaught, we released several Pikachus to scamper around the forums. The forum logo was sneakily changed to one that bore a Pikachu holding the old logo in its cute little paws. A mysterious forum also appeared with the subtext of "Protected Forum." Clicking upon it lead to a forum full of native Pokemon speakers...mainly those of the Pika variety. We did however have an appearance of the elusive Snorlax :o!

    [hide]Logo

    Snorlax Appearance
    [/hide]

Other silly postings include the now legendary Queen Valerie Will You Marry Me thread. Das professed his love to Valerie in a heartfelt sonnet. Well-wishers arrived in droves and spirits were high. It was not long however before Queen Valerie would arrive, only to reject Das's proposal!

    Be the Very Best!
The true magic of the day arrived when we started seeing users join in on the fun. There wasn't a poster in sight who didn't want to be the very best...

So dear Tip.Iters, thank you for the amazing community effort. I hope you all enjoyed the Day of Pokemadness as much as the staff did. I leave you with this closing song that we all know and love...

  15. Lady_Shahdie
No not Dwayne The Rock Johnson, a pet rock :P! Busted out my camera again and decided to whip up a new machinima. And yesthis is the result of when someone has mined one too many ores in their day. Enjoy.

(Note the video is still processing so the audio/video isn't in HQ hawtness yet!)

Also anyone end up voting for the machinima contest finalists? I was fighting between Evil Yakuzas maid advert and Runet00bs unicorn stallion. Feel free to share your choices in the comments below!
  16. Lady_Shahdie
What...ALREADY? You heard correct, I've already speeded through 93 and achieved level 94 smithing! I am actually down to the magical final five levels. Its just too awesome to wrap my head around. I have even amassed over 80k sparkly gold bars...Holy Guacamole ! I'm determined to get my hands around 99 but I must take it one step at a time. Victory will soon be mine...

    [hide=Level 94 screenshot][/hide]

In other news, the Girl With a Tiara Who Likes to Mine Alot, just reached the amazing 20 million mining xp milestone! I'm beginning to wonder if my pickaxe is merely a mining tool or another limb...?
  17. Lady_Shahdie
Finally! I got my rear in gear and achieved level 93 smithing! With this level brings the ability to smith noobish rune square shields :D! The levels are just ticking away like the hands on the clock and I'm feeling my goal falling within my grasp. My gold bar stack has risen to 66k bars...its just staggering to me O.O. Still haven't tired of gathering my gold just yet...someone convince me otherwise heh!!!

    [hide=Level 93 screenshot][/hide]

In real life news, I received the amazing news that I made it on my department's Dean's List ^_^! Also looking into applying for my campus's radio program. Hope I make the cut!
  18. Lady_Shahdie
I finally bit the bullet and made an entry for the machinima contest. It came to me as I was strolling through Varrock just like any other dayand a particular gypsy/psychics booth caught my eye.

I have no dreams of grandeur or making it to the finales but if I do happen to make itI sadly would not be able to accept a trip to Jagex (got enough real life matters on my plate as it is :( ). Lifetime membership wouldnt hurt thoughhe he he!

And yesI promise this is the last machinima blog entry youll see for this month!
  19. Lady_Shahdie
Lately it seems my blog is molding into an RS machinima blog heh. In a funny way it causes me to update the blog more often in-between my smithing level ups :P! I probably will not have as active a machinima month as this past one but will most likely post more of my machima work here in the future.

Many have asked me if Im going to enter the machinima contest but Im on the fence about it. I dont like to make videos for the heck of it and commit to ideas at 3 am in the morning sometimes. If I have the burning desire to make an entry, I will do so. For now, Ill stick with other projects I have in mind.

I got a lot of YouTube private messages recently asking about different effects and such that I do in my films. One topic that came up quite a bit was greenscreening. While pointing to other tutorials is easy enough, they often lack some helpful personal advice. I was also stunned to see that free methods for achieving the effect have not been covered at all!

To remedy this, I decided to put together another machinima tutorial about how to achieve this effect.

In other machinima news, I released an official Tip.it forum guide to the Orb of Oculus machinima tool. You can read the guide here.

As far as smithing, I am nearing 93 but havent had much time to visit the Living Rock Caverns lately. Ill head back down soon hopefully so I can get a few more loads of gold to smelt. I love how my stack of bars is just getting bigger and bigger ^_^!
  20. Lady_Shahdie
Hello dear blog readers! What can I say? Im on cloud nine! Not only am I nearing 93 smithing but several other delights just happened to walk by my way.

Those of you who read my last entry may remember I posted a video on my musings regarding the strange power. I was more than happy with the few hundred views it got and ran off down to the caverns to get back to mining up some gold for smelting.

A few friends who saw the vid pmed me and encouraged me to tweet it to Jagex. I didnt think much of it but went ahead and tweeted this ominous phrase to them:

A day or so went by and I laughed at some of the comments, chatted with friends, and gave my cat her twice hourly massages. Before heading to bed I read up on the Orb of Oculus oncemore and dreamed of future videos with amazing camera angles and close-ups.

I woke up the next morning and continued about my normal routine. Morning slipped into afternoon and I rolled by some of the chats I normally visit. Immediately I was informed that the crazy folks at JagexACTUALLY RETWEETED MY TWEET!

I was flabbergasted! Immediately I opened up a tab and loaded YouTubemy eyes literally widen to see the damage O.O. While Im certainly no Excl of videomakers nor do I expect any sort of mass stardom to ever happen to meits nice to even have over 5 people interested in the videos that I make XD!

One thing that I must say though, is how much you people out there really rock. Any endeavor Ive taken regarding RuneScape has always been so well received. I never expected 2.5 years ago when I signed up to play this game that Id be making so many friends along the way! While my MMO repertoire is a small oneout of the few that Ive tried, I can certainly say RS has the nicest community out of all of them.
So as I have done in entries beforeoncemore Id like to saythank you guys.

    Smithing Update:
Im finally at 60k bars, I couldnt be happier :D!
  22. Lady_Shahdie
Well folks...as I mentioned in my last entry, I had been put up for auction in the annual TET Slave Auction. From the moment I consented to this auction I had a feeling I would majorly regret it. It seems, I was certainly correct.

My master ended up being fellow Tip.Iter and clanmate Crazykid (SS4Alex on the forums). Crazy was a little secretive about his intentions but gave me the clue that my task was definitely "going to suck." I was tormented for the days approaching our meeting time with this thought and had several nightmares about what it could entail.

When our meeting time finally came, he revealed to me that he wished that I would sing a song. After deliberating with my other clanmates, he ordered that I sing one of the most cherished oldschool cartoon theme songs of all time...Pokemon!

All I can say is...I hate my life.

Upon my return from Vegas, I find myself shackled up and put up for a slave auction :o! More on that in a bit

So Tip.Iters, I went to Vegas, and had a truly unforgettable trip. So wonderful that I feel like blogging it for your reading pleasure :D (hears the groans of those who hate TL;DR entries). So without further ado I present to you:

    Shahdie Goes to Vegas!
After a long and arduous drive we pulled up to the MGM Grand among a boulevard of twinkling lights. The night was young so we were eager to take a walk on the strip as soon as we checked in. After getting our room keys, confirming our Ka tickets, and having our bags taken up to our room, we headed out the door into the cold night air.

I could truly tell why they call Las Vegas the city that never sleeps. Everywhere you looked was illuminated and full of action. There was only one little minor complication to this evening of fun and wonderIT WAS FRIGGIN WINDY! We had no clue that we had arrived on the eve of high wind conditions. Due to this, we were able to snap very lovely wind swept photos like this one!

(Check out the height on my hair!)

When the sun started peeking through the evening sky, we decided to head back to our hotel room. I plopped myself down on the queen size bed and fell asleep the minute I shut my eyes. The next morning I woke up to already find that room service had delivered our continental breakfasts. The portions were so generous that I hardly finished what they put on my plate :P(mmm the pancakes) After breakfast we sort of lazed around the hotel area, went outside to see the iconic MGM lion statue outside, and took this picture.

Once the day slipped into night again, we anxiously waited outside the Ka theater. We werent left outside the theater doors for too long and were soon escorted by an usher to our seats. The moment I sat down I was startled when I noticed there was physically no stage! There was just an empty abyss and the sounds of whispered voices emanating from it.

Shortly the lights started to dim and finally a stage emerged from the dark chasm. Two swordfighters were engaged in graceful and elegant combat. And the restwell I dont want to spoil it but I will give you a taste of what I saw. Picture witnessing 10-15 spearmen twirling their staffs in mesmerizing choreography. Imagine a sea battle of epic proportions on an 1800 lb boat piloted by the performers own strength. Envision a matrix-like martial arts showdown occurring at a 90 degree angle. Conjure up your definition of a wheel of death and be surprised to find out that you were wrong.

When the performance finally ended, I was winded by what I saw. Ka had soaked me in like no other Cirque du Soleil ever had. If any of you out there have written down a bucket listI seriously advise that you add seeing Ka as one of the things you must do before you die. What I just saw will stay with me for the rest of my life.

During our last night in Vegas, we toured the strip one more time for some fresh air. It was not as windy as the night before and we were able to truly enjoy our final evening. I whipped out my camera one last time to get some snapshots of the amazing places I had seen. Phewwhat a trip it was.

The above is just a little fun graphical glitch that is achieved with the candy cane spin emote from A Christmas Warble. For an explanation of how to achieve it see this. I got inspired to do this since it looked incredibly fun and as homage to the amazing performance I'm about to see...you guessed it, I will actually get to go to see Cirque du Soleil's "Ka" in Vegas! It was one of those, you have to wait till the last minute to be informed if there are tickets for you kind of deal. I'm so happy it worked out :D!

In other news, I hit over 19 million mining xp today! It was certainly a nice early Christmas present and I am eager to reach 93 before I head back to university. I may even get to 60k bars, perhaps 70k very shortly. So don't be surprised to see me making countless Edgeville furnace runs on world 99 these next few weeks. Well, thats it for now...I wish all of you a very fun and happy Holiday. See you after Christmas Tip.It!

Good God! I'm actually level 92 smithing and half way to achieving my epic goal! Such a milestone is highly desired in any 99 chaser's journey. I can't believe I am finding myself in the same position I was all those ages ago on my quest for 99 mining. At this point I was quite confident that I would indeed make it to the finish...I can easily say this feeling has not changed. I am still smelting away every single gold ore I've mined since the living rock caverns were released, and I have yet to tire of it. Thanks to this, I am well over 50k gold bars smelted. I'm wondering if I'll ever feel like switching over to addy plates and be done with this affair. Guess I haven't reached that point just yet :P! Onwards to glory I go!

In other news, I may be heading to Vegas soon with my family for my Christmas vacation. We've managed to find a very nice deal on MGM Grand reservations along with tickets to see Cirque du Soleil's "Ka". I've heard so much praise of "Ka" and how it is a life changing experience to see. I was lucky enough to see "Varekai" several years ago, and believe me, it did NOT disappoint. Hopefully all will go well and I'll be able to go :)!
