So, my mom's computer is acting up, and since I know enough about a computer to build one myself, she suddenly thinks I can solve any problem she has that may arise. Lately, her computer has been just randomly shutting down. I thought at first it may have been an overheating problem, but it does it occasionally only 2-3 minutes after startup, which leads me to think that it may be a problem with the motherboard. The model is MSi G31TM-P21, which I guess occasionally has problems with this sort of thing. Any confirmation and/or alternative suggestions you could give would be great.

The update is a bugfix, certain NPC's were causing the RS client to crash.

I don't often criticize Jagex's updates, as there's always at least one plus side to them, but this wyrms update is terrible. Who's gonna attempt to slay these things? Nobody is going to take any decent armour out there for fear of being PKed, just to get a drop of a piece of food that will disappear later. I'm all for seasonal content, but damn Jagex, this one missed the mark. The nex update, however, was much needed, so they kinddddd of redeem themselves. Kind of.

Ts referred to me as a rising star <3: I had considered writing an intro to mine since it was my first article, but I figured I'd let people form their opinion off my writing style instead of the intro. Glad to see at least a couple people liked it, I had a lot of fun writing it.

Personally, I'd love to see Season be the first to max totally, simply because she's one of the nicest players I've ever met. But I don't know that 200m all skills is even one of her goals, plus I believe she's a bit far behind to ever catch up. I do think Zarfot will be first, he's just terribly efficient and lucky, and very consistent as well, even if he wouldn't be my first choice, but I do think Aasiwat is underestimated too because he has a lot of fast exp in prayer and herblore that Zarfot no longer can gain. I'm also pulling for Kingduffy, even if he doesn't play as fast, seeing a highscore page with ranks all that low is just cool. Also, Langer, keep doing awesome with this thread, your updates are great.

Just recently bought StarCraft II (awesome game by the way), but I have a problem with it. So far I've only went into the campaign, and the game runs really nice. For about half an hour. then it freezes, kicks me out to the desktop, and gives me a little "send error" thing to Blizzard. This is what looks to me to be the main error. ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005) occurred at 0023:00C869F8. The memory at '0xE00F0089' could not be read. There is more to the error report but it's a huge amount of stuff. I can post the whole this if you need it though. I did some looking and to me it seems like it's related to my RAM, but i don't see why there's should be a problem because I have plenty of RAM to run the game. Any advice is much appreciated.

Looking for recommendations on a quality headset, keyboard, and mouse. Looking for something that are good quality and will last for quite a while. I'll be using them for gaming, not intensive, but higher use than casual, so I'd like something that will be able to at least compete with the "hardcore" gamers. Try not to break my bank, but don't feel the need to skimp on price as long as the product is worth it. I'd also like to use the headset for casually listening to music as well. It'd be really nice if you recommend products that either you or a friend personally have experience with, just so you can give as honest of an opinion as possible instead on an "I hear these are good." Sorry if this seems really specific, just trying to give you all as much to go on as possible. Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure the stats are in the knowledge base, and the Unholy (Zamorak) book still gives the best bonuses of any book. So yeah, the new books aren't anything special.

Lots of cool looking stuff, but really nothing that new, just a lot of recolored stuff. Don't get me wrong, that white trimmed dragonhide (I assume Armadyl?) looks fricking hot. Just nothing that makes me think they'll be worth hunting beyond the first couple weeks of inflation. The guaranteed item every scroll makes me happier. Also. LOL MEERKAT. Meerkat summon + Pet Broav = Timon & Pumbaa?

Glad you figured it out, and yeah adding to the queue helps, it'll still take a while though. As for having problems syncing. I've had that problem too, and usually the error was that I accidentally clicked the wrong preset. You'll notice there's 3 sections of presets, one on top that has iPod/iPhone/iPod touch and all that. These presets are for the MOST RECENT release of said device. So if you're using an older release of the device, say an iPod Nano 3g, you'll want to go to the bottom section where it says iPod Legacy and select that one. Before doing this, you'd be best to go up to the top bar and click the drop down "Presets" menu and click update. For whatever reason the program doesn't have automatic updates, and though since you just installed it recently you should be fine, it doesn't hurt to be safe. Hopefully this clears up your problem.

I use a program called Handbrake. Free program, converts video to different types and also different resolutions, which you get to choose. Can be found here http://handbrake.fr/ All you do is click the button in the corner for the source, select your file, browse and put it where you want the converted movie to go, set your resolution (or pick on of the presets on the side, there's a bunch there for iPods and other stuff) and hit go. It's not gonna be quick, but it'll work.

As the title says, this is my first 99. I've played for the better part of 6 years, after my friend introduced me to the game. I'm one of those "attempted every stat to 99, get 2 levels, then give up" types, but when I bite of smaller chunks, like 5 or 10 levels, I like it, which is how I ended up with 70+ all, and working toward 80+ all. I'm not quite sure how, but I settled into attack, pretty much entirely done through slayer because camping bores me to no end. I've also never had more than 20m at a time, due to my nature of spending on skills. Anyway, here's the picture, 99 attack, my skills, and a couple emote pics. Future goals at the moment are: 80+ all (dungeoneering excluded) 2k+ total Undetermined 99, possibly smithing. Thanks for the look.

I've got it all sorted out now, a little different than I originally had planned, but functional nonetheless. Thank you all for your input.

I don't think I am, as when I boot it boots into the fresh install of Vista instead of the one with all my old files. Plus in Disk management it lists my S: drive (one that holds the fresh install) as Boot, Active, Crash Dump, and Primary, and the C: drive (one I want to wipe) is listed as System, Page File, Active, and Primary. I think I'm booting to the S: drive...but I'm not sure. So if this helps, anything you can give me is useful. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Just read up a bit more, I am booting from my 500gb drive cuz that's where all my BOOTMGR and stuff is, but then it goes to the fresh install on my S: drive. If you guys have any suggestions on what I should do about this (to make it boot from just one drive and have the other for storage), I'm all ears.

So here's the situation. I've had my current computer for a little over a year, when i got it I wasn't quite as knowledgeable about computers, and just installed everything one one mass partition. Since then I've taken classes (in high school, so it's not high end stuff) that have taught me about partitioning and stuff to help organize my drives and such. The issue I've run into today is this. I've got 2 hard drives, one 500gb and one 1tb. The 500gb is the one i initially purchased, so it has all my data, including my OS files. My new tb drive is the one I want to make my primary drive, and I'm going to use my 500gb one for music, movies, etc. So today I went about partitioning, my tb drive is all set and I have a copy of Vista on that as well, so essentially I have a dual boot system at the moment. No need for a dual boot of 2 Vistas though, plus as was my intention from the beginning, I want to wipe my old drive. However, I've been unable to as of yet. I'm not looking to totally wipe my drive beyond recovery because I'm not planning on throwing it out, so I figured I'd just reformat it and it'd be good. I haven't had any success as of yet. I've tried through Disk Management, which is where I created all my partitions and such, but when I try to format the C: drive it won't let me, as the option is grayed out. I've also tried formatting through the Command Line, but it says the drive isn't allowed to be formatted (not from lack of permission, I am on the admin account). Is is because Vista is still active of something or am I just missing something simple? Like I said, I don't want to completely wipe it, like using dban or something, just clean it all out so I can use the space for other things. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the post, much appreciated. And I know I don't really need an extra case fan, but the one I have here is only like 5 bucks, so I figured it wouldn't hurt.

Greetings, wise gurus of Tif T+C. So I'm building a computer for an A+ computer maintainence class in school, but also as a computer for my mom. This is just a basic computer, she doesn't game or anything (aside from facebook, which somehow our current computer has trouble running), so I'm trying to keep it not real fancy, but at the same time keep it future proofed for a while. What I'm asking of you guys is to look over this list, make sure I'm not missing anything and that it's all compatible. The main thing I'm not sure about is the power supply, and whether or not I'll need to get any extra SATA cables, as I had to do this with my last build. Here's the list, feel free to post suggestions on other parts, and thanks in advance to you all. Alright, thanks for the replies. I guess my question now then would be is there any way I can get the experience working with hardware and not lose money? I already have a job that takes up most of my time out of school. (family business, so I can't really quit) There are a couple of computer businesses in my town, which I suppose I could check out (as I'm not sure if they're hiring), but again, like I said, I have another job. Any more options?

Right now I'm looking at a career in computers, particularly the hardware aspect of them. My question is how possible is it to profit by building computers? I'm not looking to get rich quick by any means, all I'm looking for is getting the experience of handling the hardware and such, while maybe making a little bit of money on the side. I'm taking an A+ maintainance class in school, as I've always been more of a visual learner, but that will only go so far in helping me. Like I said, I'm not looking to get rich, I just don't have a large amount of money to throw into getting this knowledge. So, essential question is, is it possible to build computers without breaking my bank?

Alright, thanks much foooman for the recommendations. If anyone else has something to add, feel free, otherwise that's all I needed.

Nope, i don't have a portable amp. And I'm looking for a pair of IEMs for when I run, but also a pair of full sized headphones (that cover the ears) for when I'm lounging about. Budget isn't really set, but $35ish for the IEMs and 70ish for the Headphones is about as high as i'll go. Music preference is...well...not really set. It ranges from metal (like Five Finger Death Punch) to rap ( mostly Eminem) to alternative (like dashboard Confessional). Sometimes even some Death Cab for Cutie if the mood strikes me. Just generally looking for a good all around headset, something that can put out some bass for when I want a rap beat, but won't leave the vocals in the dust for something like Death Cab. Hope this helps.

So my old pair of earbuds broke, and I'm looking into buying some new ones. Quite possibly even two, a pair of buds for running and headphones for regular use. I'm wondering if anyone has any good headphone/bud recommendations for me? No, I will not be using them for gaming, so please don't suggest gaming headsets. I've looked at skullcandy, as I've used my friends pair before and I thought they were pretty great, but I just wanted some other opinions.
