  1. I tried getting new driver for it, and that doesn't seem to have worked. Any other ideas?
  2. So I built this new machine because my other one was getting old and I needed something faster. After several hours of downloading and such, I finally got everything set up, or so I thought. I went to play some Runescape to relax, but when I clicked the Member's login button, it said I needed java. Ok, no biggie, I'll get java. So I installed that, went and tried again, and this time all I get is a big black screen. I restarted my computer and tried re-installing java, neither worked. I checked if it was enabled, which it was, and now I'm at a loss for what to do. Is it because I'm running 64-bit Vista? My friend told me that's why, but he had no idea how to make it work. Help please? EDIT: Found out RS will run on IE, but not on Firefox. Reasons/solutions?
  3. When I read your initials were K G, I was like. :o and from the looks of it, you're a girl, which made me go. No, the reason is not that there's girls on the internet. It's because my girlfriend's initials are K G. Perhaps you are secretly her? Intersesting... Good luck with 99 woodcutting, I'm too impatient to get it myself.
  4. Thanks much Joe, I would have completely forgot the power supply, lol. @Nadril- I was going to go with an intel, but they all seemed more expensive when I looked at them. Are they really worth the extra money?
  5. I'm in need of a new computer, and I've heard that you can build one for fairly cheaper than a pre-built one. Here's the bad part. I have really no idea what I'm doing. I mean, I know enough where I could put it together easily enough, but when I start getting into having the parts all be compatible and whatnot, my head starts to ache a little. I've consulted newegg, and have a list of what I'm looking to buy. My question to you folks is will these parts all work together? And if not, if you could provide an alternative that would give roughly the same results without too much of a blow to my wallet? Also, am I missing anything? I've read about needing fans and such things, but I'm not sure if this setup would need those things. Anything you can give me is a help. 6. I already have one, lol. I do wish at times I could change it though, but then, I'd have a hard time deciding what to change it to.

  8. How about we place you in a home where the adults argue all the time, are both alcoholics, and beat you occasionally. I'd like to see how you cope with that, and spamming "LOLOLOL" isn't going to help. Sure, they aren't going about dealing in the smartest way, but if it helps them, I say leave them be.

    Regrets

I'm sure this is quite obvious, but you can't change what's already happened. Sure, everyone has regrets, but there's nothing you can do. Focus your efforts on what "can be" rather than what "could have been," it's a much more worthwhile pursuit.
  10. Damn. Mr. Astley got me again. Anyway,

    Wasted Time

Personally, I don't think of anything as a waste of time. Granted, everything I do may not be constructive, but it has all given me experience in some way or another.
  13. Wongtong r gud psychic. The weirdest thing I've ever eaten was an ant, because I thought it was a crumb from a brownie. Compared to the rest of you guys though, I think this is pretty weak.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yR-h8QyXhp0 Perhaps the funniest thing I've ever heard.
  15. That's not entirely true, as Runescape is rated for 13+ players. Sure, the puzzles may not be rubix cube difficulty, but they do tease your mind. As an owner of the quest cape, I have to say the only time I have a great amount of pride in my cape is the day or two after a new quest comes out, before any written guide has been released. OT: I view the quest cape as a separate achievement from skillcapes. As A Local Guy was saying, it's difficult to compare them, as they require two very different objectives. Skillcapes show your dedication to a skill, whereas the quest cape shows your dedication to delve deeper into the game than most ever do. They all deserve the same amount of respect, regardless of what cape it is.
  16. I really don't see much of what you're talking about in-game anymore. I used to see a lot of it, but I think the main reason was they (the beggar) were hoping they'd get free stuff for being nice. Of course, it is also possible simply to misinterpret a genuine compliment as "[wagon]-kissing," as you phrase it.
  17. I always get tired of people who ask what the point of living is. I look at it this way. A "short" life does not mean "bad" life. You can make so much of what time you have on this planet, but you can't just sit on your [wagon] and do drugs and hope someday the magical fun fairy will drop happiness into your lap. There's so many more ways to live a satisfying life, and they're considerably more healthy. Of course you'll have bad times, but that's part of life. What you have to do is take the bad head on and overcome it, not give up when you see bad times. Look at that one Olympic runner who had both his legs amputated. He could have went all depressed and said, "OMG my legs are cut off I can never run ever again!" But he didn't. He decided to learn how to run with his prosthetics, and he can run faster than most people with both legs firmly intact can. Don't sit and whine how your live could be, stand up and make it how you want it to be. [/preaching] God, I sound like a motivational speaker. :-#
  18. I had something similar happen to me, turned out it was from a malware called "Virtumonde." My advice is get a program like Spybot S&D and scan, it should find if you have anything serious like that.
  19. @Errdoth: Tried Vundofix, it didn't detect anything, maybe it's gone somehow, lol. Here's the HJT log, Hopefully you make more sense of it than me. 20. A kind person told me to try Malwarebytes' malware removal system. I did, and it removed nearly everything. I'm still left with "Virtumonde -1 entry- TrojansC" Any way to get rid of it?
  21. Sindarin's idea didn't work for me. I don't really know where to go in terms of deleting the stuff from here, so any help is appreciated.
  22. Thanks, I'll try that. In the meantime, any other advice is still much appreciated.
  23. Yesterday, I was playing away on Runescape and suddenly another Firefox browser pops up offering to sell me some sort of credit card. I closed it and thought nothing of it, but it kept happening like every 5 minutes or so after that. So, after about half an hour I scanned with AVG, and it said I had a Trojan. It had moved it to the virus vault, so I thought I was safe. I wasn't. I then tried Ad-aware, which didn't identify the trojan, but instead found malware, specifically Virtumonde, on my computer. So I hit to delete that, and figured that was all over with. Turns out, it wasn't, again. So, I asked one of my friends and he told me to try Spybot S&D. So I did. After the scan, I ended up with a list that contains the following. Burstmedia-3 entries-browser Casalemedia-4 entries-browser Doubleclick-2 entry-browser Smitfraud-c.- 1 entry-MalwareC Virtumonde-4 entries-trojans Virtumonde.generic-2 entries-trojans Virtumonde.sci-1 entry-trojansC Zedo-7 entries- browser I tried deleting them, 3 times actually. Every time the scan brings up the same thing. It's really got me annoyed, as I want them off my damn computer. Any ideas? Edit: Tried Sindarin's idea, didn't work. Any other ideas? Edit2: Another friend recommended I use Malwarebytes' malware removal tool. Tried it, removed everything except "virtumonde-1 entry- trojansC" Edit3: It appears everything is clear from my computer now, but you're free to check my hijackthis log in my last post to see for yourself.
  24. The ability to read minds, for sure. I always thought it'd be cool to know what everyone really thinks of you, not for the purpose of blackmail or anything, but just to know. I'd be content simply knowing they think they've got me fooled into believing them, when really I'm laughing hysterically on the inside.
