  1. I was actually just thinking about this topic last night. As much as I would love to believe there is a place where everyone is happy with one another and peace reigns, my sense of reality wants to believe otherwise. I think it will end as a few people have said, nothing before, nothing after. This also brings to mind near death experiences. People say they see the hand of "God," but that seems a little cliche to me. I think they are just dreaming, but hey, who knows?
  2. I play Low detail on maxed settings. If I try to play HD I have to turn everything off, and it looks essentially the same as Low detail on maxed.
  3. I've been playing Low detail, but with maxed settings, until this morning when I found this thread. It never occurred to me to update my drivers, so I did that and it helped quite a bit. I can play HD at almost maxed settings, though I turned off lighting detail, since I was still a bit laggy and I don't really like the lighting in dungeons, too dark. I still lag just a tiny bit, but I think that's unavoidable due to the fact that I just met the Graphics card requirement at 64mb. If, however, there is something I can do besides turning down the settings to reduce my minimal lag, please tell me. I'd appreciate it.
  4. Not sure what you'd classify it as, but I find John Rhys-Davies's (Gimli) accent pleasant to listen to.
  5. My favorite quote from a movie, period. Also, a few on a less serious note.
  6. 01-08-White I ate a prostitute because that's how I roll.

    Olympics 2008

I enjoyed the dancing part of the opening ceremony, but watching people walk around doesn't hold my interest. I'll watch it on and off once the events start though, even though I don't really care who wins. Just saw Guam's flag bearer, 6'5", 399lbs. I'd hate to have to go against him.
  8. The most serious injury I've ever caused myself was when I fell backwards onto my cement fireplace. I split the skin on the back of my head open, didn't break the bone though. Had to get a few stitches to fix it all up. A baby injury compared to the other stuff on this thread, but you asked, hehe. My Physical Education teacher told me about an old college buddy of his and how he injured himself. This guy was doing the bench press, pretty heavy weights since he was a body builder, and his spotter was too busy chatting up the ladies to "spot." In turn, the bench presser went to set the weight down and went over the back guard entirely. His arms dropped back and he couldn't suppot the weight. The result was a compound fracture of his right shoulder. For those of you who don't know what a compound fracture is, it's where the bone protrudes from the skin. Needless to say, he doesn't body build any more.
  9. I'm quite a calm person, but when I do get angry, it's a bit like the Hulk coming out of me. I'll swear for no apparent reason, but I've noticed it helps relieve stress. After a few sentences loaded with said words, I feel a lot better and am calmed down to the point where I can think straight again. Never when authority figures are around though, I'd get in trouble. My advice to you is not sweat it. Swear words are going to slip out from time to time, so don't swear at yourself for swearing. If you can't just ignore it, then replace the swear word with something completely random, and maybe even funny. For example: You say a swear word and are may. Instead of saying "Oh, [insert curse word here,"] say something like, "Oh, Dabble." Completely random, and not a curse word. People may think you're a bit odd, but it might help you feel a bit better.
  10. I listen to music, but instead of singing along, I just hum. I've accepted the fact that I'm not a very good singer, but I rock at humming. I also tend to type/write when alone, regardless of the topic. I like to put my personality in my writing, which is hard to do while people are watching me. I also don't like people reading what I write before it's done.
  11. I'll probably be with Runescape until they shut it down, though school and a job is the other likely alternative.
  12. Me and my sister play, and as a few people said, it's really nice having a sibling who plays. I laugh whenever we talk about Runescape in front of our parents. They're always like :? and we simply reply, "Runescape." They usually say, "Oh," and just kind of ignore us, hehe.
  13. I think our own stupidity and greed will be our downfall. Corruption of world leaders being payed off by big business, not taking action on the things that really matter, becoming blind to anything except their next dollar. Or maybe it will be kittens, somewhat like the Eyes of Gloughphrie quest. Whichever comes first.
  14. There's been a couple fights at my school, nothing major though. Just a couple kids being idiots to each other. I personally haven't been in a fight, never really liked violence. There's one guy who's a jerk to me sometimes, but that's only because he's high. When he's not on something, he's not that bad of a guy really. Still time left in school though, so that could all change. :ohnoes:
  15. I agree with you on this. Medicinal Marijuana is a good thing in my opinion, but there's a reason Marijuana is illegal, and that's to stop people from abusing it, or attempt to anyway. The key word is used responsibly. The people you know, who use, are quite different than the people that I know, who abuse. The few ruin it for the many. If everyone used it responsibly, I'd say sure to making it legal, but everyone doesn't, and bad things happen, that's just how it is. Sorry to say, but though they may look fine on the outside, I can say with fair certainty that they aren't so fine inside. It's not the tobacco in the cigarette that makes it bad for you, it's the additives. If you ever Google the ingredients found in cigarettes, you'll find that they are also used in common things, like nail polish remover, drain and toilet bowl cleaner, and most commonly known, rat poison. I don't mean to sound like a teacher preaching to you, but this is also the truth. I never said telling lies to children is a good thing, I said telling them the truth is a good thing. If I told a kid the things on your list, I would certainly be lying to them. Those things aren't the truth, but they are close to it. If i added or removed a couple words from most of those lines, they would be the truth. If you really are quoting them word for word, then it's quite possible your teachers meant to say something else, it just came out wrong. Not all teachers are teaching these things, but in fact the one or two word different variations I just mentioned. Those are what I've learned.
  16. Just because something bad didn't happen to you when you did Marijuana doesn't mean something bad won't happen to someone else. There are several kids at my school that smoke Marijuana, and they're completely messed up. They've been in and out of jail for using and possessing an illegal substance, getting in fights, and so forth. They're failing school, I won't be surprised if they drop out within a year. I'm going to bank on those things being a result of their drug usage. As for point one on your list, I think what your teachers were trying to say is all drugs are the same in that they are bad for you, not that they all have the same affects on your body. Point 2 is also true, as after a long enough time of smoking, you will build up so much tar in your lungs that you can't breathe. I wish it wasn't true, all of my 5 uncles smoke, and they will all die of something related to smoking, be it heart failure, some type of cancer, or one of the other numerous diseases and complications that come from smoking. And for points 3 and 8 on your list, I think you either misinterpreted what they were telling you, or you a grossly exaggerating those claims. I wouldn't refer to these as scare tactics. I'd call it the truth, or very much close to the truth. The truth is scary, but it's the way things are.
  17. As I read this, I kind of thought about the Batman movie. I mean, this guy sounds like the Joker, killing with no remorse and no real reason other than to cause chaos. I know that sounds weird, connecting real-life to a movie, but that's seriously what I thought of. I also agree with a lot of you, saying he should get solitary instead of just being killed. Although, I don't see how much that would solve, seeing as he has no remorse to eat at him while he's sitting there. If anything, it would just make him more insane, if that's even possible.
  18. The Ectophail is from Ghost's Ahoy, quite an easy quest, and quite worth the reward.
  19. You may be forgetting the mole claws and skins, which sell fairly well in the Grand Exchange, or can be exchanged for bird's nests, which also sell well in the Grand Exchange. Considering these are 100% drops, or near 100%, plus the mole doesn't take much effort to kill, it profits quite a bit. Onto wyverns, I do think they should still be on the list. They're overall a good monster to kill, as long as you can invest the money in Karil's armour.
  20. I'd suggest training slayer. It's a great overall skill, plus the drops help with money. Also, Hunter is a great, and fast, way to make money. Once you hit 29, swamp lizards can make you some really nice cash.
  21. My entry is sent. \ Hopefully I did it right, bit of a newbie to typing in code and whatnot, so I tried to make it look as much like the example as possible, hehe.
  22. Looks like a fair month, nothing really amazing though. Glad to see Firemanking get an update, though I'm disappointed in the way they updated it. It just doesn't sound that great to me. Hope they prove me wrong!
  23. A local hotel in my city supposedly has a haunted boiler room. Kind of cliche, but I had an experience there once, possibly paranormal. When I was walking back from the pool late one night, I walked past the boiler room, and there were wet footsteps leading into the room. May not sound like much, but when it's almost midnight and the halls have been empty for probably an hour at least, maybe 2, it's kinda freaky. It's not enough to make me a full-on believer, but I'll say it's certainly a possibility.
  24. Runescape, simply for convenience. I always open 2 windows at once though, so I can have the game and Tip.It up at the same time.
  25. Another great letters to the editor session. =D> Too bad I don't know Morse code, now that Did You Know? is going to bug me.
