  1. I voted maybe, only because I would need to see the specifications before deciding for sure. As long as you have a good plan, it sounds like a great idea.
  2. This is the kind of article I think Jagex should put in tutorial island or something, just so everyone reads it. Great job.
  3. You probably realize this, but fire arrows already exist in Runescape. You make some during the Underground Pass quest, and you can make more in the same fashion afterwards. They take a very long time to make and don't work very well for the time taken to make them, which is mainly why I've never heard of anyone using them in bulk. I do agree that firemaking needs a bit more variety, but there's only so far you can go with a skill that's narrowed to making fires. Flaming weapons seems like a good idea, but they'd need to think of a way to make the weapons able to burn, since you can't light metal on fire. Perhaps coating them in lantern oil, or something along those lines. You also need to think of it from Jagex's point of view. They need to decide whether they want to spend time on a whole new skill, or do they want totally revamp an old skill. It's all geared towards what would get a better response from the majority of the population. As much as I'd like to see firemaking, and a couple other skills, remade, I think quite a few more would rather have a whole new skill entirely. I know, I type a lot. So what? \
  4. One of the better articles recently, very nice. I too own the quest cape, and I've been to many places that most players have not. These areas are rather elaborate, yet nobody seems to give these areas the time of day. One of my favorite times was when I did the Darkness of Hallowvale quest. The city maze was amazing, and it was so clever and well designed, I actually use the maze sometimes when I revisit, even though I've completed the quest and earned the shortcuts. JaGex puts a lot more work into these things than people tend to think, and I think that's kind of what you were getting at.
  5. All the updates this month look quite nice, and I had a tough time deciding between the achievement diary and the new bank. In the end I chose the new bank, since my current bank is never clean, and when i do organize it, it's dirty again the next day. :wall:
  6. This quote is taken from the RSOF, I'm looking for the actual post by the J-mod, I'll edit it in if I find it. Let's crack this!
  7. It seems I'm with most of the people posting. I've done them both, thoroughly enjoyed them both, and I'm hoping desperately for more. I enjoy quests, as they gave me a reason to train, but now that I have the quest cape, these are the next best thing, and they have much higher requirements!
  8. I think you've made some valid points, but have tossed in some things that didn't need to be there. I own the quest cape, so I know that a lot of the quest items and areas become quite useless after the quest is completed. Giving us the after quest hook, a reason to keep the items and revisit those areas would be nice, but I want to say one thing about that. There is already TONS of content in this game. So much so that you can spend years and not do everything there is to do in this game. Constantly playing and raising skills only is at least 3 years of training to all 99s. Three years! You can tack on another year at least to play all the mini games and do all the quests, along with the numerous other content that isn't really related to anything, it's just there. So 4 years of content, plus new stuff being added constantly. Heck, they managed to give us not one, but 2 quests in the same month that they are doing the graphic update. You need to stop looking at the new and start reconsidering the golden oldies that have been there forever. You mentioned the fishing trawler in your article. The fishing trawler is a fun mini-game, but very few know it even exists, because there's so much new that it gets buried right away in the heap of things to do. So, to recap, I'll give you a 50-50 split in my agreement with this article. I do think they need to give us a reason to stick around after the quest and not totally ignore it, but there's only so much content you can cram into a game before there's no possible way you can do it all. There's more than enough to do while we wait for the graphic update, and if all the new is boring to you, grab your friends and head out to an unknown town or lost and forgotten mini-game and try it out. The content is there, you just need to explore it.
  9. I rather enjoyed the Inkheart books. I enjoy a lot of fantasy novels, but this one gave me something original, instead of the typical fantasy books that I read. I won't spoil the plot, but I'd recommend these books if you're looking for a good read. Another series I've read that I enjoy very much is the Ranger's Apprentice series. Another good book for those looking for a good read. It's annoying to me, seeing as the series is out to book 6 or 7 in Australia, but only book 4 in the states. Not like there's much translation needed. :? All my other choices are mentioned in the above posts, so I tried to give a few you may have not read. Enjoy :D
  10. Wonderfully written. =D> Personally, I skill for fun, not profit. Sure, the profit helps, but being ranked among the legends in a skill would mean more than money ever could. P.S. Are you psychic or something? Jagex's recent updates seem to point people more towards skilling for fun, since their new trade system really slims you mass profit gaining methods from skilling.
