Perhaps the simplest solution for this would be for Jagex to allow us to view our LSP the same way we can view out EP? It would take a lot of the guesswork out. Also, a couple responses came dangerously close to a religious/antireligous remark. Please don't get my thread locked! ^_^

That's an excellent point. I hadn't thought about the summer in particular but once you point that out I'm quite surprised that they didn't do just that.

So they dont release it you "riot", They release it a number of years later and you tell them to "gf". They can't win. I am not 100% sure when rs2 was released but say it was released in 2000 it has almost been a decade since that was said! People can change there mind. RS2 was released in 2003, but that is beside the point. I wasn't trying to call out Jagex, simply to demonstrate a trend of features that were once established solely as the domain of members are slowly but surely headed in the f2p direction.

Just an interesting tidbit on this topic and the changing Jagex attitude towards f2p... does anyone else remember the Duel Arena riots during the rs2 beta? For those who aren't fossils like myself, I'll recap: A post regarding content implied that f2p'ers (who were then helping with the rs2 open beta) would be able to accesss the duel arena. This turned out to not be the case, and resulted in a largescale riot at the al kahrid duel arena, with at least two (possibly more) JMods present attempting to calm the issue. The wording of the post was cleared up, and alongside that we were assured by jagex that, to paraphrase, DUELLING HAS ALWAYS BEEN AND WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST DRAWS TO P2P. WE WILL NOT BE MAKING IT F2P. Yeah... umm gf jagex.

I've recently been doing a lot of GWD'ing lately and it has surprised me how many people talk about different factors which supposedly influence the loot recieved from slaying these mighty bosses. Among these I hear people swear by such things as "Dry Worlds" "Dry CCs" "Being Due for a _____" "ooh a _____ we must be close to a hilt" "LS or CS or FFA gets better drops" "Loot Resets" or the belief that once a drop is obtained then it is necesary to hop worlds. Frankly I find all this to be a load of [cabbage]. Does anyone believe (and have serious evidence in support) that any of those above are true?

Well, yes, and that's what messed up the rest of the economy. Even though it's been mostly fixed, the lingering effects remain. By lingering effects do you mean the initial price depression from when they were released as PvP drops or the rampant inflation that came from the trade-PvP-artifacts-in-for-cash update? OH wait, you probably meant both! You can't tell me this mess is an inprovement over the old wilderness! But back on topic, yeah. We are in desperate need of a legit update. Not a novice quest. Not a graphical improvement with a couple of bug squashes, but a full sized, big, beefy update.

The only problem with that timer system on the alter is say that you're soloing and, as so often happens, some noob comes along to crash/leech/whatever. Now he's just doubled your prayer restore time without actually aiding you in any way.

Uhh, no. Elvarg is F2P so she should be a boss for F2P. First of all i'd like to apologize for how trollish my last post must have sounded. That aside, I think the biggest issue with having a f2p boss of this calibur is the lack of access to portable prayer restoration in f2p. That may cause a snag for people looking to take on the a new f2p boss with anything short of a small army.

Honestly this has been a year of disappointing updates - there's stuff we've been waiting on for quite a while that beats the heck out of a year of upgrades! How about another GMQ, or seeing whats through that frozen door in the godwars dungeon?? Bet whatever is behind that door is way more interesting than yet another new novice quest...

Somehow I imagine people Guthans AFK'ing on Bandits to get Hitpoints untrimmed. But tbh I would wager that there are far fewer untrimmed summon than HP, and far fewer untrimmed slayer than either of those.

Pantim, wouldn't that argument apply to dozens of other things like macroing or RWT'ing? Everyone can choose to do those as well, but it doesn't make them legal or right. DISCLAIMER: Not intended disrespectfully or as flaming. Also, I agree with Pantim's position, just not his logic.

Nothing wrong with the occasional thread-from-beyond-the-grave :-) But on the topic, I just use cannon to speed up slayer task, and more often than not it's in SINGLE COMBAT where it isnt bothering anyone anyways (as long as I stay in combat). The only real exception to this is dagganoths, and that place has been a first rate charlie-foxtrot of cannoning since before I can remember.

Strangely enough, this is usually true. Also - all you need is love!
