  1. The update was ready... The graphics engine was not. I don't understand you. The update required a graphics engine update which didn't exist. Quality-Assurance should have gotten that, but since they are so rushed they didn't. I knew someone had suggested it earlier! Glad it was you, Pure.
  2. Only had to wait until the second BTS to lose hope. In my opinion they should only announce updates that are done, bug-tested, and ready. I dislike that the updates they announce at the beginning of the month aren't bug-checked until a few days until the update. Guess I'd go with whoever suggested they take a month out and just get their act together. Honestly, I'd be for them taking a few months off of major updates, making some epic new content, and then releasing it. BTW: We wouldn't have a 7 page thread here if we had new content. Agreed, like expansion pack like updates. Those would be a ton better imo.

  4. This point has been made over and over and over and over and over. Who reads threads anymore?
  5. First make sure to say that such statements are childish and pointless.
  6. I never said it got anywhere, I said that it's understandable. It always happens, and it isn't going to change. (As I recall complaining actually does do something, considering the numerous updates which were reversed due to complaints.) I have no problem waiting for content, don't get me wrong, I'm 100% fine they delayed the update. I'm just acknowledging that whining about these type of threads never gets you anywhere. It just makes you look like a smug child. The people who have a problem with content get fed up with posts like yours because they just want to voice their frustration amongst a group that will accept it, not being called whiny for having opinions. I wasn't going to say, that last line, actually. But if your total contribution in your post is "stop whining" then that's not really any more constructive, but it has the added condescending and rude tone. Which is why I'm against the people who make posts like yours, they generally aren't very nice, and are more annoying to read.
  7. I hate this argument. Yeah, these things happen. That's still their fault. Mistakes happen, it was a mistake on their part. So people will be sure to be frustrated. I think the poeple who complain have every right to do so, I can see why there would be frustration. People who share racheya's arguments are utterly irrelevant. It was a mistake on Jagex's part, so there will be a little bit of complaining. Live with it. Yet time after time the "be patient" crowd comes along and loves to make the same assertion that there is no reason to complain. It's endlessly annoying and there's no reason for it. One would think that if the "be patient" people matured a little bit they would be able to handle these threads without calling them pointless and childish.
  8. Prom 2h is the current hip item due to the ring bonuses. As for Shadow Silk vs. Promethium Platebody, most would say Shadow Silk. The only thing better being the extremely rare blood necklace.
  9. Kyatt really is the best fighting familiar, set it to the last inv spot in the highest BOB you can use. The scrolls are the good part, you should have your left-click summon option set to take BOB, after you're BOB is out of brews and restores, dismiss it and summon the kyatt. Once he releases the mines and you hide behind the pillar, he'll chase you, fight him a little bit until he teleports. Once he teleports run back behind the pillar and set your summon left click to special attack. Then just spam the special attack, once he starts to melee you switch between spamming brews and spamming kyatt special attack. At 92 summon I still used a kyatt and once he got to a quarter health and started to melee me I used 17 special attack scrolls before he died. It's not that hard of a fight, its just a matter of being prepared.
  10. Haha thanks, also if you have the enhanced excalibur, it's well worth sacrificing a brew.
  11. No, you're right. If you let the healers fully heal jad before killing them, then when they respawn and you kill one, your task will be over. There are 4 monsters to spare I believe, so 4 healers and Jad would be it.
  12. If you were the boss of a major corporation and one of your employees accidentally made the company lose $90,000, would you say, "Oh don't worry about it, you're only human-- I understand!" Mistakes happen. What I'm trying to say is it's not their fault it's happened... They met the deadline just something else failed. No, it is certainly their fault, it may be forgivable, not a problem, insignificant, but it was their fault. It's their fault they didn't check everything. I'm cool with waiting a week, but don't start saying that it wasn't their fault.
  13. It's a really hard fight, even at 130+, congratz. 7/10 Just a question I the record is like 94 cmb, right?
  14. I don't understand, how is your position any more mature? You're being just as obnoxious by creating an argument and being downright mean. A little frustration isn't the end of the world, nor is this uncommon! Just wait for it to pass, go outside and do something if it really bothers you that much.
  15. The BTS also mentioned a treasure trail update, I don't see how that's any less official. I get that you are cool with the update, others aren't, why try to argue? If you really don't care then just wait for it to pass, there's going to be complaints, there always are.
  16. Condescending? Wait, if my opinions are unimportant to you, how does it seem condescending? I am telling you what I think, you are telling me what you think, but yet I am the condescending one? If you think your opinion is better than mine, then I dont think I would sound condescending. Maybe I sound condescending because you know your health is more important, but are reluctant to make the change. I have never said that every person needs to be the same and put his health at utmost importance, and I dont think that my view is the only view that people should have. But, after all, it is MY opinion, so don't I have to think it is a good opinion? If I didnt think my opinion was good, why would I even have that opinion? I'm sorry but I just flat out disagree with your last statement. I like to serve people, help people, and save people. Its why I am in graduate school for education. I care about everybody, and I like to help people. I believe that everybody matters, and everyone deserves the right to be aware of unhealthy habits. I don't see it as their fault. If somebody is going to crush himself on the bench press, I dont say "Its his fault, he shouldnt be lifting that much." It would be my fault. It was my responsibility to help him. I help. I save. I'm sorry if you don't like to be helped. Fortunately, everyone can read my posts, and then have their own free will and decide if they want to agree or disagree. You sound like one of the damned Jehovah's witness who come to my door every year and tell me about all the things I could be doing right, they care about me too, but I don't convert to their religion. The reason you are off-topic is you are attempting to facilitate a discussion that is different from what the OP had originally intended. Your intentions do not matter, this is not the intended place for a discussion on ergonomics. I highly doubt that you're in graduate school, and if you are I doubt the school is accredited. My set-up is quite ergonomic, and I'm not acting out of a psychological defense( this is high school psychology here, which is why I doubt that you are in grad school). What I am acting out of is anger. I get angry when people who have absolutely zero knowledge on a topic pretend to be quite well-versed in it. Furthermore, if you are in grad school then I trust you're smart enough to realize that your post would be quite controversial. Your original post was far from congenial, and it seemed quite condescending. Since the college you graduated from seems to have failed to educate you in basic vocabulary, I'll enlighten you on how you were being condescending. Since your first post you have told us what we are doing wrong, and how we are basically hurting our health, you did not point this out in a nice way AT ALL. More than one person added that they wanted to live their live the way they wanted, your response was this "I, however, enjoy my health and put full effort into respecting my body and cherishing my time on this world." That's being condescending mate, you're speaking in a patronizing manner assuming a form of superiority. You actually go on to call those with high-end set-ups "sad". What do you call that if not condescending? Now, let's address a number of topics which you seemed to have deflected from. Your first argument bordered on being medical, but as I pointed out earler, you lack a basis of medical knowledge. Your argument is what you feel you've gleaned from hearsay and CNN. You've since dropped this argument. Now you seem generally intent on just arguing for the point of arguing. Any constructive point is made in such a harsh tone that nobody will listen to you. You'll get a lot farther if you just spoke in a nicer tone. I don't know if you intended this to be a nice rational argument on ergonomics, but this has turned purely in a flame-war, which is why I recommended that you start your own thread, instead of disrupting what truly was a good post.
  17. I disagree. It is completely relevant, as what makes an "awesome" setup, to me, is not 5 different LCD monitors, blazing fast PCs, and sweet-looking MAC mouses with no mousepads. A sweet setup in my world is a computer that will let me use it in a way that does not discomfort my body, allowing me to focus on the work I am doing or the game I am playing without needing to worry about my health. You guys look at a "dream mouse" and it would probably have tons of buttons and lights and other crazy features. My "dream mouse" is one that functions nicely, and feels like my hand is in a natural, comfortable position. It is clear that we value different things, and I dont think everybody needs to align themselves with my point of view, but it does worry me how extreme your desires for high-end setups are. In most of the pictures presented, I do not even see a wrist-supporting mousepad. To me, this is a travesty. I am not asking you guys to buy whole new keyboards and mouses that are the most health-friendly things on the market. But not even showing enough awareness to do yourself a favor and use a 10-20 dollar mousepad, well, its just concerning. Also people are saying I am being rude. Thats funny, because all I am talking about is concern for YOUR health. I am spreading awareness so that you can live longer, happier, more comfortable lives and you return the favor by deeming it as rudeness. Thats okay, though. Why? Because I have studied enough psychology to know that all of your responses have just come from your primitive, illogical defense mechanisms. I have shown you a news article about the dangers of multi tasking. A simple Google search of "carpal tunnel" will tell you that buying more ergonomic products help to prevent this stupidly preventable ailment. Why do you think ergonomic products develop? Why do you think safety manuals and labels come with our electronics? The problem is real, and your setups are doing nothing to sustain your health. The ammount of delusional denial in this thread is just insane. Sorry folks, but uncomfortable and unnatural computer setups poses real health issues. I used to have wrist pain when I was younger, then I started using better setups and it went away. My dad works in an office and developed carpal tunnel. He needed surgery. Did he have a moue pad? No. Was his computer situated in a strange place on his desk? Yes. Thousands of people develop health problems from computer use. It isn't made up, sorry. No matter how much your mind wishes that it WAS made up. EDIT: I would also like to add that people seem to have terrible misunderstandings of scientific research. You guys read articles and find something like "The correlation is not completely certain." and then you discredit the article as being untrue. This is how the scientific community works. Its like the creations who say "Darwin's THEORY of evolution? Well, creation is a THEORY too, then!" But, they just have a complete misunderstanding of the scientific community's definition of "theroy". The same is for the CNN article I cited. They have to say these things, because it is extremely hard, in any field of science, to make conclusive, precise, and absolutely confident claims. In studies of human behaviour, it is even harder to make these claims because of how much we don't yet know about the brain. Them telling you that a correlation is uncertain doesn't mean that there isnt a good probability of them being correct. To make concrete claims on scientific research takes decades upon decades of testing, confirming, and retesting. This doesn't mean we can ignore preliminary findings. I don't see why this issue needs to be pressed. You say that you understand psychology, so you should realize that you're not going to persuade us. The reason the CNN article that you cited says that there are uncertain findings is because there are other studies that have shown the opposite results. I'm arguing about eye strain here, carpal tunnel is slightly different, and I'd rather not get into a medical discussion on a thread regarding computers. Now, you've taken it upon yourself to enlighten us about your ideal computer set-up, but when numerous people have disregarded your statements you still press the matter. It isn't that we don't recognize your opinions as valid, and I'd agree with you in regards to a number of points, its just that this topic was directed at the technical aspects of a computer, NOT the ergonomic aspects of a computer rig. In regards to your talk about how you aren't being rude, because listening to you is in our best interest. That's not an excuse, just because you may be right doesn't make it necessarily nice. If you want to have an in depth discussion on ergonomics, why not make a thread in Off-Topic? Here's a picture about proper ergonomics if anyone is interested, I hate being this off topic :???: On Topic: I'm not a dual monitor man myself, unless my Iphone counts  Here are my specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.ghz XP SP3 NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 4 GB DDR3 Ram 4 Fans Acer 26' Monitor(I think its 26, unsure) Some logitech keyboard Some logitech moust( I want the R.A.T sooo bad) and bose speaker system, sennheiser HD595 for headphones.
  18. I've read through that article, and it seems that it focuses on the problem of retaining irrelevant information in your short term memory, and how processing data becomes harder (for instance, it mentions exams/tests). Comparing my exam results this year (though they are only mocks so far) to last year, when I only had one monitor, my grades have gone up over all subjects. While I'm not saying that multitasking has helped me, I am merely suggesting that it has had little to no impact. This is no proof. All you can do is look at your results, compare to the studies theyve done, and I would say your exam grades may have been even higher if you weren't multi tasking. Also there could be a correlation between actually having two monitors, and multi-tasking on only one monitor. Were you multi tasking before you had two monitors? If you were, I could see how simply having two screens instead of rapidly actively switching windows could improve your attention. This still doesn't give any information that would conflict with the studies. Also, your personal academic improvement can still outweigh negative effects. For example, if you eat nothing but Mcdonalds, you can still lose weight if you are smart about calorie counting, meal timing, and protein intake. Does this make Mcdonalds "healthy food"? No. Same thing goes for your multi tasking. Just because you saw an improvement doesnt mean the single variable you are looking at was the cause of the improvement, or that it isnt hurting you. You would need to compare it to a period of time where you eliminate multi tasking from your life. Listen, I don't know know how you think this is relative at all... Some of us have two monitors, I'm not really sure how this hurts YOU, but you decide to post and basically tell those of ys with two monitors that we are ruining our lives. Listen mate, its ok to think that, but saying that is fairly rude, and I really don't think it's a very nice thing to say. You cite a news article as your "proof", but you fail to understand that the study of neuroscience and the effect of computers on health are developing fields. It's very possible staring at a monitor is bad for you, but the degree to which it effects you has not been conclusively proven. Your points are sheer conjecture based on an insufficient understanding of a news article the news article even mentions that the results are inconclusive) and they really aren't needed in a discussion about computers.
  19. You want to get a mousepad that has a wrist "support." I use the quotation marks because it doesn't REALLY support your wrist, per say. It just encourages your wrist to stay straight. (Similar to the way a weight training belt doesnt really DO much actively, but having it on your midsection encourages proper form) Also, you need to place the mouse at the proper height. To find the height: sit up straight, let your arms dangle straight down towards the floor. Then, take your mouse hand and bend at the elbow to make a 90 degree bend in your elbow. This is about the proper height of your mouse. It should be a tiny bit higher than this. Also, every 90-120 minutes, make sure to take 5 minutes and do some hand+wrist stretches. Nothing major. Just limber it up. Keywords: "May suggest". my typing may cause a stroke, please proceed with caution and advert your eyes.
  20. Adding chat would have been too much strain on the game engine, that is why it was removed. It also prevents people from ganging up on eachother.
  21. Actually myopia usually develops by the age of 15, and its more likely caused by a genetic susceptibility to environmental factors. There aren't any medical studies that have proven a link between near-work and myopia.
  22. 83-92 summon so far at 1.9x went 83-91 in 1:40 91-92 with golds took me down to 1.9x
