Well the website is down for me, how do you suggest I switch worlds? If the website is down it could be your internet and if its happening to other people then idk. If it was my internet it wouldn't give that error message and I wouldn't be able to load the main page. All euro worlds seem to be down... I'm able to load more parts of the website atm.
-
This isn't helpful, please do not post unless you have something constructive to say. Is anyone else periodically crashing? Edit: I am able to see the runescape main page, when I try to click on "members" to play I get a page load error.

1.)I felt like I was just reading a pretty non-informative article about payment in the first article,I really don't know what there is to like. Most active 'Scapers will have known most of that info from just talking to friends. The article also fails to discuss many other methods of payment, for that reason I find it boring and a bad read. The second article seemed to be a bit better. It brings about the good point that most of us are merely following statistics that are given to us by players who are trying to chase higher ranks. I also agree with the author, tif is a grand exchange of info, and is quite a friendly community. I liked seeing how the discovery of tif really changed the way he played. Good article. Dyk: A ton better. I never thought of the infinite pineapples. That could actually be useful for lower level players who like to DYI.

Anything where an existing feature is just relocated would piss me off more than anyone could ever imagine. Jagex haven't done [cabbage] this year and they know it. Well it is the year of upgrades? And they have done a lot. Sorting out randoms, getting rid of the annoying running-back thing, new minigames. As well as improving the interface, hit splats, hp bars... Yeah Racheya's right, I mean the only things we got last year were Summoning,Summoning Batch 2, Runescape HD,Quick-Chat, Increaed bank space, a new account recovery system, Coinshare, Smokin' kills slayer update, and many high level quests.(all of these updates were pre-august too) Jagex is doing a spectacular job, I mean we have the biggest flop minigame and soul wars! Not to mention an out of place hp bar, an uncentered 0 in the new damage splat, and no new randoms! Hooray!

08-July-2009 Mobilising Armies + patch notes
Maulmachine replied to Toad's topic in General Discussion
But... that took the week before off to give MA more development time. Still, one week can't compensate for a million hours of testing. =/ Honestly Racheya, its like you can't find a flaw in anything JaGex does. This update was delayed over 6 months and it would have been able to have been made back in december, I have spoken to jmods and they have said that the game was "being made better" during this time. Now, the level of bugs in MA compared to the length of time that it was worked on is just completely unreasonable. The game itself is flawed and is dominated by simple strategies that can ruin any strategy. I completely disagree with your three points that you have given, I think number one should involve a certain amount of complexity. In Chess and Backgammon there are nearly infinite amounts of strategies and infinite ways to play the game. In Mobilizing armies the strategy factor is just non-existent. Now, lets go to "Harvesting Resources" I don't know how this is a trait that MA has. In siege you harvest rocks, I suppose, but I don't think that its the same principle as in traditional RTS games. In a traditional RTS there would be different ways to harvest resources, or different uses for the same resources. This is not available in MA. As for "waging wars" I think that the wars being waged in MA are: A.) Far far smaller B.) Rather pointless since your units cannot be repaired or rebuilt. For those who doubt my experience in MA, I am currently ranked 334th on the highscores. -
Well, cave horrors are very very spread out too, it would be difficult to get a condensed bit of them.

A common method is wearing guthans plate+skirt with helm and spear in your inventory. When low on hp you use the portals to go to either barrows rats or zamorak monks to heal up. I think gandorf is referring to the smokey well where you get hid rapid ones for removing a facemask, however, you wouldn't die if you did this. This means that it would be theoretically possible to dharok creatures like fire giants with prayer in the well. As for dust devils, you do need a helm.

Well... I used to live in a very old house when I lived with my parents. Now, we had this clock that was about 10 feet tall that was brought from Germany to the U.S, and it was placed on a landing halfway up a staircase(odd to imagine but the house layout is quite odd). One day when I was 11 my cousin and I were playing tag and we were running up and down the staircase. I ran up the staircase and went through a door at the top when I heard a very large crash. I looked through the door and saw that the glass/gold part of the clock had fallen and shattered. My grandmother(to whom the clock belonged to) refused to speak to me for a year. My parents relocated my bed room to a walk in closet as punishment.

[hide=These reasons]Alcohol kills developing brain cells The brain does not finish developing for males until around 24, and for females around 22 years. We know the adolescent brain is designed to learn, but this plasticity also renders it particularly vulnerable to the damaging effects of alcohol. Research reveals that the brain goes through dynamic changes during adolescence and that alcohol intake can seriously damage long and short-term growth processes during this time. In the short-term, moderate drinking impairs learning and memory far more in youth than in adults. Since the development of MRI (multiple resonance imaging) scientists are able to measure changes in the brain, and provide new insights into what actually happens to the brain, under the influence of alcohol. New research has provided more information on young people and their developing brains. In line with such research, it is no accident that some western countries e.g. America have set the age of 21 as the legal age to drink. Source: Brown SA & Tapert SF 2004 Adolescence and the trajectory of alcohol use: basic to clinical studies. Annals of the New York Academy of sciences, 1021 234-44 Top Early alcohol use can cause a change in brain wiring Young people are quick to learn. While their brains are still developing, they are developing new pathways. These brain pathways can change negatively in response to alcohol at this particularly vulnerable time, possibly hard-wiring the brain with a predisposition to crave alcohol. This change in the wiring of the brain indicates that early exposure to alcohol somehow changes the reward pathway so this adolescent, as an adult, finds alcohol more rewarding than do those adults who did not drink as adolescents. That strong reward feeling can lead to alcohol abuse problems Source: Dr Jamie Diaz Granados Associate professor and interim chair of the psychology and neuroscience department at Baylor. Top Early alcohol use can cause a change in brain wiring The adolescent brain is a work in progress, according to Dr Peter Monti. It is often referred to as plastic because it is built to acquire information, adapt, and learn. Alcohol, however, can disrupt the adolescent brains ability to learn life skills. So, not only can heavy drinking at this time get the adolescent into trouble through behaviour, such as risk taking, or drinking and driving, but it can also make the brain less able to learn important life skills that can help one avoid trouble as an adult. The earlier a person starts drinking: * the greater the risk of altering the development of the brain * the greater the risk of alcohol problems. Source: Dr Peter Monti, Symposium organiser, and professor of medical sciences and director of the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies at Brown University. Top Alcohol affects teenagers ability to achieve at school Alcohol can cause severe and possibly lasting brain damage in people under the age of 21. A recent US study compared the brains of those who drank alcohol aged 14 - 21 with those who did not drink. Teenagers who drank alcohol: * had smaller areas of that part of the brain that handles memory and learning * had damage to the section of the brain used to make decisions and to reason * * scored worse on vocabulary, visual-spatial tests (the ability to think in pictures and images), and memory tests * performed more poorly in school, were more likely to fall behind and have increased risk of social problems, depression, suicidal thoughts and violence * suffered a change to their sleep cycle, resulting in impaired learning and memory as well as disrupted release of hormones necessary for growth and maturation * had a 10% decrease in verbal and nonverbal information recall * may have difficulties in attaining the goals of adulthood Source: (AMI) American Medical Associations report on alcohols adverse effects on the brains of children, adolescents and college students updated 2004 Top Alcohol takes a greater toll on brain development in those under 21 than in any other age group Adults would have to consume twice as many drinks to suffer the same brain damage as teenagers; even one heavy drinking session can injure young brains. * young people do not tolerate the effects of alcohol better than adults, even if youthful stamina enables them to stay up all night drinking when we oldies would be in bed * teenagers (who drink) are more likely to suffer from lack of judgement and memory loss * this is of great concern because some children now try alcohol for the first time as young as 12 years old, and data reveals that most young Australians have tried alcohol by the time they are 16 Source: ADF fact sheet The affects of alcohol on the developing brain Number 3.12 Feb 2005 Top There is a strong connection between alcohol consumption, self-harm, and suicide * If we drink too much, too regularly, we are more likely to become depressed * There is evidence that alcohol changes the chemistry of the brain itself and that this increases the risk of depression * hangovers create a cycle of waking up feeling ill, anxious, jittery, and guilty * regular drinking can cause family arguments and result in poor work output, unreliable memory, and sexual problems Source: Royal College of Psychiatrists Public education Editorial Board Dr Phillip Timm Editor updated July 2006 Top Double trouble The brain does not fully develop until the mid 20s. In young people, that part of the brain that controls judgment and behaviour is not properly developed. Accordingly, teenagers often engage in risk-taking behavior without having consumed alcohol. Our teenagers are faced with double trouble when they drink alcohol. When these double-trouble situations arise, the police, or worse still the ambulance, is often required. Source: Family Drug Help Top Parents can influence the drinking patterns of their children * Parents do have the capacity to set effective rules and parenting practices that could delay the age at which their children would begin using alcohol * By setting rules and monitoring alcohol use in the home parents can have a direct positive influence * Among the students aged 12 15 years responding to a survey, 42 % reported parents as the most common source for obtaining alcohol4 * * The longer we delay the age teenagers are allowed to drink alcohol at home, the greater the chance that our teenagers will use alcohol moderately as adults * 4 ADF. Australian Drug Foundation. Prevention research evaluation report. Number 13 February 2005 Top Parents who allow their children small amounts of alcohol in an attempt to instill safe drinking habits maybe setting them on the path to becoming binge drinkers There is no protective effect from giving children alcohol. Explain to children that alcohol is harmful, and make a rule that children will not be allowed to drink until they reach the legal age. Right through high school that needs to be the message and communities need to back parents with that message. Dude, isn't the game dumb down enough? We have cook-x,fletch-x,pray-x, what more do you want? Fish-x? I mean come on, this isn't needed.

Are you mad? A level 200 (two hundred!??) monster??? After being weakened by a lot of probably reasonably leveled monsters? Honestly. For p2p this would be ok, but for F2P!!!!!!!!????????? Seriously. You'd have to be close to 100 combat to do this quest effectively. And by that time you'll have 99 mage already, so what's the freaking point. Nerf the monster to level 80-100, with lower leveled guards in the tower below it. For p2p it could be higher leveled, but I doubt Jagex would do so because of massive flame. Ignore Quelmotz, his comments are ridiculous. I like the idea of a level 200 monster in f2p and the idea of killing him after being previously weakened. Maybe they could make it so that you could kill him every day for a drop of 50 random runes, or maybe 100 random runes. Kind of like a f2p bork.

[Devblog] Volunteer Moderators + Introduction
Maulmachine replied to RSBDavid's topic in General Discussion
To be honest, I'd rather they worry more about content then a sense of community. While these updates are fine and good I think that as a result the content as suffered. This has to be one of the worst years for updates and now they are trying to make a sense of community? It just seems like the wrong time. -
do you just want an ancient staff? you aren't online :?

best f2p way to high alch and get cash
Maulmachine replied to airforce290's topic in Help and Advice
I don't understand...you're agreeing that it is not the best, yet your title says its the best. This isn't even a question :-# -
Difference in defense is minimal, +3 prayer is nice, but the main thing is the lack of a negative range bonus. Its also 15m cheaper. Jesus christ I have gone through this with so many different people  I wouldn't listen to ross quite yet, the defense difference isn't minimal, its actually around 20 less than dragonfire in ever category. For armadyl, you miss out on +8 magic defense, but you don't have a negative range bonus. If you're strapped for cash go with the blessed spirit shield. The dragonfire is far better, however.

Fine. They can be stacked in two ways. My point was that we don't know how they stack. There are more ways they can be stacked. Awareness is level-95 and the highest boosting Contemporary potion boosts four levels. So, since when has 91 been under 90? I overlooked awareness, that's true. Even without it a 56 can be hit. With under 90- magic. Also, Melee'ers can deal two specials in row that together deal >99 Damage. This special can only be used once and deals up to 84 damage. No, it is not. At the maximum hit of 84 (doubled from base hit of 42) the minimum hit is 21. Comments=bold

My thoughts with PASSWORDS and helpful info.
Maulmachine replied to Promise's topic in General Discussion
So, you are under the delusion that somehow these hackers... A.) have super computers which are needed to crack small passwords in reasonable amount of time.(The reason I say this is that even with a fast computer that has multiple cores will take over 30 years on any password over 12 letters. Even if it is a dictionary word. B.) These hackers also manage to get your AIM username, terrific. I don't see how they managed to get that, seeing as even on tif people rarely have their aim username in their profile. C.) I don't know why you brought up a discussion about crime, thats fairly irrelevant if you weren't talking about killing someone for their rs password, and if it was I bet your password length won't help you there. D.) Your original post's methods of creating secure passwords are flawed. As long as you use words you are limited to 26 different characters, whereas if you add a number you get 36 possible charachters. And since we got to the discussion of AIM passwords, you forgot to mention that by capitalizing the first letter in your password and adding a number at the end, you sore up to 62 possible charachters, making even a 10 letter password secure. E.)Most of this info is given to you when you start to make a password on nearly every secure website, and its insulting to think that we haven't heard "Don't use the same password for more than one thing" if you want to make that point valid maybe show some numbers why? I posted a link on the previous page pertaining to the length it takes to crack various passwords given a different amount of characters. F.) If anything this thread merely has us revealing our password length. Actually making it far easier for someone to hack us if they really wanted. Along with the fact that some of us have our e-mail/AIM posted in their profile... Well if you know enough about internet security you can see that your thread could theoretically do more harm than good. G.) The comments that you have posted are actually INCORRECT regarding password security. For example, when D Jay99 said that he had a 10 letter password you should have jumped all over him seeing as that isn't very secure at ALL. I recommend at least 12 letters in a password as the difference is quite a lot. H.) If you decide to delete this comment due to your "moderator" title I will be truly sad. This info is of vital importance and if you aren't better informed on the matter people will be at risk even more so than before. Before you delete this pm me and tell me why. -
 Troll much? There were a few comments on there not being much "new" or ground-breaking regarding merchanting, but there isn't much to build on there. If you're already well versed in merchanting or don't think it's an issue, there's no counter that would make you enjoy such an article. I'd consider that perspective for future articles when deciding upon topics (far and away the toughest part of the process). Additionally, there was some word that it was a complaint piece, but that wasn't the point at all. Conversely, I could have just as easily acknowledged some pleasant compliments, but chances are you wouldn't have received that well either. As a writer, you have to go in understanding that not everyone is going to like ANY article, but you should still read the feedback to understand how well you're connecting. It's really not so complicated. Excuse me? If you think that I'm a troll, or that my message came across as trolling I am sorry. However, when authors only address the criticism that doesn't require much to answer I get annoyed. It might have been better to address the criticism on the first page so that a discussion could be formed about the article. By pointing out the lack of content in the above poster's comment no discussion can really be formed, nor can ideas be discussed.
-
I'm open to constructive criticism, but have no idea what this means. Good job only replying to a thought that wasn't well formed. If you want criticism go to the first page, you'll find plenty there, but instead you decided to mock someone for a mix up,well done.

My thoughts with PASSWORDS and helpful info.
Maulmachine replied to Promise's topic in General Discussion
This is true, however the amount of time it would take is completely unreasonable for example, using a 20 letter passworld there are exactly 19.9 octillion combinations and it would take 639 billion years to crack it with the best of software. I said theoretically, does not mean its practical. And if you want to talk about practical, have fun looking for that tiny piece of paper you taped under your keyboard with the 20 letter password. If people really want something, and its not practical, then they'll resort to something practical if they really want it, like shoving a gun down your mouth. ;) But like I said, its runescape...this is on a whole different scale, with millions of dollars at stake. I'm not sure you're very informed on internet security, or on theoretical probability. First, it is impossible to crack a 20 letter password with the current super computers, why? Because in 631 billion years the sun will have exploded and the earth may or may not exist(but probably not for other reasons, such as asteroid impacts) Furthermore, you make the assumption that I haven't memorized my password, which I have, and since it isn't a dictionary word it won't be cracked. Furthermore, you would most likely need a botnet to event attempt to crack an rs password due to the restrictions on how many times an incorrect password can be entered. Your post is completely unnecessary and shows that you are uninformed on this matter. You really have been watching too many movies mate.Runescape gangsters? I think not. -
You say to not jump to conclusions then you yourself jumped to conclusions. 22 Max fire pulse hit Potion raises that to 28 Awareness adds 14 to that Arcanists Staff special attack then hits an 84 We don't know how these stack yet so why jump to conclusions? Like most of the other stuff in this spellbook, it is unclear how or even if these stack! And since when can meleers hit 84's with under level 90 stats? This spell would allow that.

Pretty sure that was on RSOF :-k Nope, I'm sure it was on here. I keep trying to use the search, but my internet seems to prevent the page from loading when I look far back into previous posts. -.- I remember that post, but I found a more detailed website through a cool firefox add on, heres the site. http://www.lockdown.co.uk/?pg=combi
