  1. My guess is that one of his keyloggers found its way to the "wrong persons" computer and its them that reported it as malicious computer access or something. The Runescape element, while small, helped the police follow the "paper trail" and find out who it was. Key word: "Stealing". People do get arrested for stealing. And theft of virtual items is looked at almost the same way. There's been more than 1 thread on these forums with people being charged for the theft of virtual items. One being two kids who made another guy, in real life, give them his green halloween mask. (Source: http://www.massively.com/2008/10/21/dutch-court-convicts-2-minors-of-stealing-virtual-items/ ) And in relation to Phishing being illegal: And in the same article (Source: http://www.anti-phishing.info/congress-and-phishing.htm ) I'm sure, in most places around the world - those above figures vary, however, still very much illegal. Says that it's hard to find those phishing, yes. But when they are found....
  2. I'm really looking forward to what's left of 2009, then even moreso to see what 2010 has in store.
  3. Found here - http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm?game=37&feature=3761&bhcp=1 I don't know about you, but that last quote from Mark Ogilvie seems somewhat of a hint to the new skill? Dare I say, shape-shifting?
  4. santa claus = de kerstman L Don't you think I don't know that? At my home we just don't celebrate those American holidays, like Hallowe'en and Christmas (well, not the way like in America, we just have a tree and we have a special dinner that day). Halloween's not something that's only celebrated in America. It originated in Ireland, as the end of the "lighter half" of the year - then becoming the "darker half". Therefore I'm sure, if celebrated in so many places there's most likely *some* people that take part in it in Belgium/the Netherlands.
  5. I'd say "Nice username you've got yourself there", if you actually had the correct spelling. Since when's there an "e" in Claus? And yes, very early, I saw you come into Mod MMG's clan chat wishing people happy christmas ad telling them to join your clan chat...
  6. Hmm..tough one! I'd probably spend it Runecrafting, or else dedicate all the time to maxing my melee stats.
  7. No, I wouldn't. RuneScape, for me, doesn't go any further than the internet. That's where it and all conversation related to it stays.
  8. Flipping is done over mid and under mid. It just depends on where the market is at the moment. So sometimes flipping pushes the price up a little, and sometimes it pushes it down a little. Sometimes it's doesn't push the price at all if you buy under mid and sell over mid. In any event, demand drives the price. This is the difference between flipping and price manipulation. In the aggregate, flipping doesn't artificially affect prices. That's because you make money on the flip without regard to price change. In fact, sometimes you have to be careful NOT to affect the price. For example, if I'm buying under mid and selling at mid (which I do a lot), I can end up driving the price down and depreciating my own stock. (No big deal since I have only a few, and I generally still can sell at or over where I bought.) Truth is, flippers stabilize prices. If you don't know what you're talking about, please learn something before posting. What are you flipping, lobsters? Oh please. Any item that one flips that they have high profits in mind (Which is pretty much everyone, I'm sure) Will need more than just a few gp profit per item. Which will generally result in buying mid price, or just under and selling over. Selling over the medium price pushes things up... The more an item goes up, the greater the profit margin. And again, as I said in my first post. Most users posting here are speaking as if they're the only one flipping that one item.
  9. Reading through the past few pages of this thread shows many faults in peoples ideas on what they have posted here. There's people trying to justify flipping, investing and..well...not so much manipulation. There's one key thing you're all leaving out in these "examples", and is that you, alone, aren't the only person doing it. "I flip this, I'm not affecting anyone really". You flip that, yes, but so do 100 others. And what does this mean? That it's a group effort. Yes. You, alone aren't doing much. It's when you, and the 100 others are flipping an item together that's doing something. Example: You're flipping...Dharoks' great axes. You've bought 10, you're now on limit. There's still plenty more people putting their axes in the Grand Exchange to sell, while you can't buy them, others are. Many, many others are doing just what you are to profit. Thus meaning, the price of that great axe generally won't fall. You've only helped a small bit, but the others with you have changed it all. Then, when it comes to you needing to sell these items you'll sell (As one user said), what, 1 per 4 hours? (I think that's what I read..). So you get the most possible out of it. This can only lead to one thing - the price rising! Same with investors, most claim that because they're not working in a group they're not causing any effect. When that is indeed what they are doing, they're working as one big "anonymous machine"! Buy X item at max price, sell in a few days when it's risen. You, and...thousands of other investors are doing just that and as a group are most likely having a larger effect on the item that you're investing in - than these manipulators who knowlingly buyout items for this effect - have. You're selling at a fixed price that you have. Manipulation clans have a "general" price, and people will generally make sure they dump before that price. Whereas you'll keep pushing it to the max. I can't really expand on it anymore, as I've not got the time. But above is what people really are missing out in their examples.
  10. Wow, I can't wait! This's going to be awesome!!!
  11. Well then, what are you waiting for! Go to your bank, grab your gear, a pen and a notepad and write a new guide for a different "boss" monster and help contribute a guide for Tip.It! :-P
  12. I reckon I'd try to completely rid the market of all rares. That'd be plain awesome. Take every rare item that's on sale for months. Just stock them up in my bank. Buy 200M in all the easy buyable skills. But out the spirit shields + sigils. Buy out god swords. And finally, make one awesome bank picture that folks can really drool over.
  13. They like BETA, the Ge database's been in BETA now for what..A 1 1/2 years?
  14. i don't just chill in mort myre often but isn't this apart of the swamdecay/ghast thing All the cool people chill here. And no, I don't think so. Considering I can repeat it over and over again. It teleports me from that one location west over the "long grass".
  15. Anyone else ever get teleported from one spot north of where I was standing? With this message, and to this location west of where I previously was.
  16. Adventurer's log topic posted on the main RuneScape page - no longer a BETA version. http://services.runescape.com/m=news/newsitem.ws?id=2287
  17. Nah, I don't really like it. I won't begin to play it at all, however, if need be I will try and keep access to it.
  18. 320 kills since I got the tactical knife yesterday... I've also ran over 30 miles since I've had it too. It is...amazing. :ugeek:
  19. I started using that setup. And wow, I don't think I've had this much fun in a long time. I thought sniping was fun. But wow this is insane. Tactical knife with pistol, throwing knife, marathon, commando and lightweight is such an amazing setup. Playing TDM, running around with this after around 5 minutes people are on their toes big time. They see someone running toward them and automatically start jumping. They know they're going to be "knifed". It's like being a Ninja or something on CoD with the marathon.
  20. Then he ran off... He wanted to buy something from "Chef herald" to put over his fireplace... :?
  21. If any of you folks wish to add me on Ps3, my PSN's carl-dub I played an epic TDM game earlier on Wasteland. Silenced itnervention with scrambler. Whoever was hosting the match was on my team, we had 2 of us v 5 on the other team. The guy I was with did nothing, I ended up being on my own and still won with 15+ kills and 1 death. And the death was in the last minute. It was awesome, no-one could find me. <3: Sniping
  22. This kind of attitude makes me sick. I knew we'd get a few people that are unhappy. And before? The game had very few people actually playing RuneScape Classic. I'm sure you too, when starting out, like everyone else looked to others for some direction on what to do/where to go. People don't know there's no run feature; they have to question it before they know. I'm not sure about the second - possibly people who are new to RuneScape itself and didn't know there was a time when the Grand Exchange didn't exist. I don't understand why people like yourself, pretty much look for praise in this game because you started before others. It's nothing special. Classic, going by my recent playing on the servers (Which isn't a lot - I don't care.) really is nothing special. You were one of the many thousands who experienced it first, I'll make you a medal. Now get over yourself please.
  23. [spoiler=Seemingly everones favourite "game", spot the glitch!]
  24. Ps3 I am guessing? We're all having the same problem. No-one can play Mw2 online.
