You can't use that example with this situation, not only that, but many toy guns do look just like the real thing. And, as guns are illegal in most countries, what can you expect? Chances are no-one will be shot, however, they will of course be approached with caution.

They're overstepping their boundaries? How, and who's set these so called "boundaries"? Again, I say, you're on their property. You threatening to end your own life isn't something they'll ignore. They are a big company, and they are human. It's humans nature to react and respond to things like this - you should be thankful they do. People do end up ending their own lives because others didn't understand the help they were so desperately crying out for. If they're honestly crying out for help on an online game, hoping to get some help, they are waaay far off. I find all of this hilarious. Good fight bro. Edit: Tenses You obviously don't value human life, and have not been in a situation where someone you know has taken their own life. It's not hilarious, at all. And I really would wish you stopped making a joke out of it. It's far from a joke. Even if a user's said they'll take their own life, jokingly, they should be thought how it's not something to joke about. So I'd hope if they were joking, the police did actually teach them that it's no joke.

I actually can't believe that many of the comments on this thread are actually joking about it. And an above poster said it's only because one's paying that they'll help? You must be kidding me. That attitude's awful to have. It's someone's life, I don't think any of you really understand that. Life is worth more than money. I am actually horified at some of the replies on here. Yeah, sad that some people care about every single life. :wall: Perhaps it was a slow day for police? :-P Sad that people care for others? Wow. I don't understand that, at all, why on earth would you say such a thing? It baffles me. What makes you think there was 10-20 people with their life in danger at that given time? And that their seperate situations weren't as possibly serious as this one? You do realise there's many local police stations in countries. Not all operating out of the one branch trying to "save the world". Each life counts.

Stay out of your personal life? You're essentialy on their property, so yes, saying that you're planning on commiting suicide, do you think they'll not try and help? :?

It's very good that they do actually do it - it's best to catch people before it's too late, in such shocking cases. And they can get the support they need, sooner rather than later.

Best of luck to all applicants!- Why you should never use a "Merchanting Clan"
Right, while I understand many of these clans are simply schemes setup to scam people - that isn't always true with every clan. Personally, I don't want to defend them, but given my previous history I can say that what you're saying isn't entirely true. For many of these manipulation clans to work some of the leaders will rather go by trust rather than power. That means what item they target to buyout isn't always necessarily chosen by the leaders, but often by the members. And everyone profits together, and if anyone takes a loss it's the leader for helping the members to succeed. The clan chats which generally publicly advertise at the Grand Exchange you can expect to be setup like you have mentioned, but as I have said - not all are. If there wasn't so many gullible people around they would cease to exist.- Capes Guide Update: Soul Wars Cape

Carl- 12-Jan-2010 - RuneScape Q&A Schedule Changes
Think it's best you edit the first post. :)- POLL: How do you earn most of your RuneScape GP?
I no longer earn GP, I haven't purposely made a sale for profit in nearly a year.- 99cooking. Posted for serp.
Congratulations Jimmy! 10/10, cooking's awesome.- World Record Held by Runescape Player
RuneScape in the place of a drug? You must be kidding me. I'm not going to dare go down that road, but I do hope you've met a drug addict and a RuneScape addict. I think then you'll realise that RuneScape isn't a "drug", as you've put it. Unless you're talking about the addiction - that's not a drug either. There's a difference between being addicted and and simply enjoying something. If I, for example played RuneScape for 20 hours a day 7 days a week, for the simple reason that I love the game and I have set personal goals, that is not because I am addicted. It's not because I have to play, it's because I want to. I'd find enjoyment in setting a goal and beating it, I won't spiral downhill if I suddenly stop playing.- World Record Held by Runescape Player
Perhaps they should spend their time checking equipment and making sure everything works rather than sitting about on their [wagon] waiting for something to start burning. But what happens if you trip? :P You get busted and have to car-jacking again to get back your guns ;). Yeah, and so was this one. I guess you're the one who wants to make this thread about me. I don't appreciate the personal attacks, especially when I work very hard to avoid making any myself. The topic here is not me. It is the simple fact that this is no more of an accomplishment than being a couch potato. If it really were some great achievement, you could explain what that is, instead of attacking me. Qeltar, I agree that the personal attacks were uncalled for, but the accomplishment was her own. Maybe she wanted to achieve 200m xp in a skill, that's her own personal achievement. Maybe she wanted to buy a DFS, that's her own personal achievement. Just because her achievements don't live up to your standards doesn't mean they aren't achievements for HER. It's her life, bro, if she'd rather play RS all day, let her, I know I won't let my son do that because it's much more beautiful outside (well...today's kind of [cabbage], but it's been like this for a week lol). If she's satisfied with how she lives her life, then let her live it! It wasn't a personal attack, it was simply a reply in which I would have hoped you'd get an understanding of what myself and several others are trying to say to you but you're brushing it off and continuing. Apologies if it came across as an attack, that wasn't at all my intention. If you wish to just ignore everything, then fine. I'll go on about my business.- World Record Held by Runescape Player
Yes, I was replying to you in my post. Which means, of course, the post will be about you. But the fact that you're comparing everything in this persons life, basicly, to youur life is what I'm talking about. "Because I do this, so should she, otherwise she's..not human!". You never admit you're wrong, I don't think I've read one of your posts where you're not either trying to put someone down or make yourself look better. Why must we convince you, when it's pretty obvious? Who said that playing this much was to get into this book? It was completely personal, for no other reason. You need to understand that. I don't know why you've went from saying how bad their life must be now to their being in the book. Is that because you know you were wrong? Here we go again, replying to the smallest part of a post, why not just say "Yes, perhaps she does have a life and I am simply beating around the bush". What are you going to give out about next?- World Record Held by Runescape Player
I think you meant days. It's actually about 16,000 hours over five years. So tell me: is 16,000 hours of watching TV over five years also an "achievement"? How about 16,000 hours of smoking weed and lying around in a daze over five years? Is that an "achievement"? I feel pretty confident that if she had refused to give her name to Guinness, it would never have been published. Why don't you just stop the nagging and see the truth in what people say. You don't always have to be right, you know. It's actually okay to be wrong. Stop the nit-picking, you know right well that half of the posts here are actually sensible, but you're throwing them aside to fit in your own piece of how they should live by. Their achievement doesn't have to be publicly known, understand that. And as Bedman correctly said, they perhaps aren't doing it to be a celebrity. Not every goal has to be recognised by others for it to be sensible. You really need to stop posting on this one thread if all you will do is ignore the truth to add in your own bit of nonsense in every single post. Is that too much to ask? Perhaps a bit of consideration wouldn't go a long way. This isn't a thread about Qeltar, lets not make it that, alright?- World Record Held by Runescape Player
This persons achievement doesn't have to serve other people - ever heard of a person achievement? Chances are she didn't play 17,000 hours for recognition, but racked up achieving her own personal goals. Just because what she's done hasn't helped other people does not make it any less of an achievement than what you do in attempting to help others. ...- World Record Held by Runescape Player
Right I give up. people who are replying now aren't reading previous posts, may as well be running around in circles if you ask me. We're not going to get anywhere, those who are saying "It's bad omg" are actually missing the point of every single post bar there's and those they agree with. You're always going to be able to find a way that it may be "bad" so stop trying and trying and trying to do just that with no regard for the previous post which is actually showing you how possible this feat is without ruining ones life.- World Record Held by Runescape Player
You actually can't compare an addiction which will leave you with no state of mind, completely unaware of life, with an addiction to playing RuneScape. That's just madness. Her playing RuneScape 9 hours a day won't kill her - if someone was on drugs for 5 years, that might leave them with nothing in life. Do you see? Yes, I have actually worked with people with drug and alcohol addictions. They don't particularly "enjoy" it, at all. But it's something they can't live without. If this persons internet went out, I'm sure they could live without RuneScape and won't go to any extremes. You can't compare drug or alcohol addiction with RuneScape, you can agree that they are "addictions", but being addicted to RuneScape will not kill you, unless you're depriving yourself of the basics which one actually needs to survive. You won't end up 5 years later not being able to construct a sentence - or doing basic things in life. There are crazy records, you and I both know that. But there's noteable ones which people actually care about, just like this one. If we didn't care, we wouldn't be posting. If people didn't care for the most hours playing an MMO, they wouldn't have released it, or any the "Gamers edition" of the Guinness Records. - [ENDED] The Crew Wants You!
