You two should add my PSN (carl-dub) and we can play MAG some time. I'm currently level 41, I think it is. And my spec is a sniper. Doing field support (i.e. Medic) as well as sniping guarantees a fair amount of XP by the end of a game depending on how good of a sniper you are and your location. I find sniping from the objectives if defending in Sabotage is awesome. Then you push them right back to their spawn for even more XP. ;)

Jagex Calling Police
It happens all of the time, Robotkill. There's a video on YouTube where a Jagex Moderator had contacted a player after muting them to say they must ring the number given, (The Mod supplied him with the phone number to a local police station), and if he didn't ring them to say he was okay and let them speak to his parents he'd be forced to send them to his house. Suicide is very, very serious. People have taken their lives because of games, and this is no different. Joking about it is unacceptable. Better to be safe than sorry. Link to vid? I couldn't find it on my 43 second venture to Youtube. The content within the video isn't suitable for these forums. :)

Also bought it today. Amazing game, the demo was what pushed me to get it. Edit: Carl, you betrayed me, I'm all on my lonesome with Raven. Not that I play MAG anymore. You chose the weaker side! I used my foresight to realise Raven in the long-run would be a complete waste, and I'm glad I did switch back then. :P Note: "Duck Hunting" consists of gunning the paratroopers down before they reach the ground themselves. Great fun.

The Official PS3 Thread
I joined a new clan on SVER, "Professionals", their clan tag being [PRO]. And I must say, it makes MAG 1,000 times better. The communication, the teamwork, the slaughtering... And the fact that the leader of PRO is great at directing the whole platoon is insane. Game of sabotage with them, first. He began the game with playing the banjo to make the announcement that we leave A & B for Raven to get and we'll all camp at C and destroy them from there. Much more enjoyable! Much more XP! And much more...Duck hunting! There's a video of the duck hunting but it contains some language inappropriate for here so I shall not link.

My headset finally arrived today. At last, what, 9 days it took from the UK? Longest I've ever waited for a package. :? SVER > all others.

Fire cape compromise. New post by Mod Chris L.
I invite you to read through the previous pages of the thread and you'll see that this has nothing to do with the difficulty of Jad itself.

Fire cape compromise. New post by Mod Chris L.
Please read through the whole topic, it's not at all because Jad is "difficult." I disagree. I don't believe there was a problem to begin with, to be honest. Ice strykewyrms are a single new type of Slayer monster; no matter how you look at it, the ability to fight them is in no way significantly game-changing. Strykewyrms can only be assigned once players have fulfilled the requirements (so it isn't as if people are being futilely assigned tasks they cannot complete), and their specialty drop is tradeable (so players don't necessarily have to slay the wyrms to obtain an SoL). Because of this, I can see no reason why this situation is noteworthy, let alone a "problem" to be "fixed". Simply put, you aren't missing out on too much if you can't fight the new Slayer monster. And yes, Jagex are more or less obligated to listen to their players when problems arise, but was this really a problem? Can you tell me so, in all seriousness? I'll be completely honest: the "solution" will ultimately cause far more problems than it supposedly "solved". Again, I don't particularly care about the Fire cape requirement issue itself. I believe the actual problem is that the mindless ranting on the RSOF actually accomplished something; with every victory, as the ranters see it, they grow more bold. You can expect for more and more players to start bitterly complaining after every update now, whether there's a legitimate issue with the content or not. There are clearly results to be had, so long as enough players band together to rant for them, and it appears that Jagex will only become more compliant as this wears on. It's truly a slippery slope we've come to. If this continues, who knows what will happen in the future? Oh please.. You're acting if Jagex changes every update because a lot of players complain. If that happened, then we'd have Old PC, Wildy and Free Trade. Every update? Certainly not. However, now that Jagex has bowed to the pressure once, you can expect for there to be that many more rants over future updates with difficult requirements. In Jagex's case, it becomes easier to simply give the complainers what they want (rather than fighting/ignoring them) after giving in once before, so there will undoubtably be more nerfs of this sort in the future. This is what worries me. If you give the mindless RSOF mob of ranters an inch, they'll take a mile. This is not the first time they've answered peoples cries. And I certainly don't see it as a bad thing that they are, they're listening. So what if there's rants against this update, but they're doing it for the better of the game in the long run. This isn't going to make them more profit or anything.

Fire cape compromise. New post by Mod Chris L.
Haha, well, yes I think that may be what we'll have to do. Even though my internet's not bad, my slayer level is (But I don't care for that, I care for the people who genuinely are unable to do this.) You will have seen posted on this forum many-a-time, that RuneScape as a whole is people's "dirty little secret". Now I don't know about you, but I wouldn't go to an internet café or my local library to play RuneScape. And I'm better, neither would you. But you find it so easy to tell others to do it. I don't think in a library they'll even give you 2 hours to play a game when many people use the library because they have no internet access at all. Not just because their internet is bad. And what's to say the library's not dial-up? Or extremely bad broadband? Not every place is perfect. I don't understand the whole problem here, at all. What if they released this monster, say just like the current Dark Beast, with just the level requirement and perhaps an easy quest to access it without this whole firecape shenanigan. People would not be ranting because it's too easy (Okay, maybe they will, but that's just for the sake of arguing..), in fact instead they would probably rant about the Slayer level requirement. I do not see this as a problem in any way. I believe only those with the fire cape are complaining, anyway. Because they got it first.. Well.. so what.

Fire cape compromise. New post by Mod Chris L.
It has been suggested many times by many players that those who do not have fast internet connections are more than able to relocate to an internet café or a library. Yes, because a middle-aged woman/man is going to feel comfortable sitting in their local library taking up a computer for two hours, which people genuinely may need, to play a "childs game", as many brand it. Right. I'm not going to discuss this any further, as what I'm saying is "falling on deaf ears", my whole point is being missed. Not everyone has 2 hours with a stable internet connection to get through the caves without dying. Going by my own personal experience where I had not got a stable internet for more than minutes at a time or atleast 6 months, nothing was really possible in-game. Fight caves would have been utter madness.

Fire cape compromise. New post by Mod Chris L.
[hide=Quotes] Chickens require no specific equipment, levels, teams, etc, etc. Why should GWD require any of those things? Why should the Corporeal Beast? Your argument is flawed. This is how dangerous precedents are set, like the one that was set today by Mod Chris L. I think it's safe to say that we will never see another monster that requires anything more than the necessary levels to fight. I wont be surprised if every GWD boss is changed to only attack with melee. We wouldn't want the poor players to have to actually PREPARE for them, would we? Users can be assigned these as tasks, currently, without firecapes? (Can you confirm, or someone?) Why should they have to skip the task and lose their Task streak or whatever it's called because it's not humanly possible for them to obtain an item unless they pay money for broadband or something? Users can choose not to go to GWD, Corporeal Beast etc. But here, they can't just choose. It's a ridiculous requirement, and in my eyes, was since the beginning. Not everyone wishes to sit in a combat situation for 2 hours fighting beasts hoping their connection isn't lost. Players were not able to be assigned ice wyrms unless they owned a fire cape. Players who were not "able" (which is complete bull) to get a fire cape did not have to worry about their task streaks being compromised. Like GWD and the Corp Beast, ice wyrms were a choice. [/hide] Alright, thanks for claring that little bit up. I still do not agree with it. It's not complete "bull" that they can't complete it, I've given an example above of some personal friends who I know can't enter any dangerous situations, let alone spend 2 hours in one hoping not to disconnect!! I don't see why they should be put at a clear disadvantage because they can't do it.

Fire cape compromise. New post by Mod Chris L.
I'm happy with this comprimise, while I don't have the Slayer requirement at all for other people who truly cannot obtain the cape I am very happy for. I've friends who play on dial up, and cannot fight any "boss" monsters, can't go to GWD etc due to their internet connection. So why should not being able to obtain the cape mean they can't fight a new slayer monster? Funny how there's people ranting about this, when people are ranting about Pvp updates which do nothing positive for the game (Taken a look at the economy lately?) there's hardly any ranting. Now..? You shouldn't be complaining at all. There's a new slayer monster, people need to be happy for once instead of nitpicking. No other monsters in the game have such a requirement, why should these?
