In New Zealand, it seems like most other people hold the door for most other people, say thank you. Also, i've noticed people are incredibly quick to say sorry if they bump someone, and pick things up etc.

I'm not making this to be nice. I'm making this to beat Adam's challenge. Basically, the premise of this thread is to combat all the negative nelly threads floating around holiday season, by talking about things which are nice. What are some random acts of kindness you do, and why do you do them? I'll start: A random act of kindness I did was sit next to an old man on a bus, because he looked lonely, and had a [bleep]ing awesome beard. We had a chat, which ended up him telling me about his life. I was told not to join the navy. Who cares if that was incessantly positive and overwhelmingly nice? Share your stories anyway! (but because of the depressive nature of OT I expect this topic to die after two pages...)

An adverb is effectively an adjective, for a verb. I ran quickly. The ly usually defines the adverb. Poor explanation but oh well :P
