  1. And besides, even though it may not be a selling point for most people, it sounds like fun.
  2. What book would that be? I think I might have the same one :P Possibly. It's all three Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books in one.
  3. This story from some book I have on my desk. [hide=The Red Spot]While Ruth slept, a spider crawled across her face. It stopped for several minutes on her left cheek, then went on it's way. "What is that red spot on my cheek?" she asked her mother the next morning. "It looks like a spider bite," her mother said. "It will go away, just don' scratch it." Soon the small red spot grew into a small red boil. "Look at it now," Ruth said. "It's getting bigger. It's sore." "That sometimes happens," her mother said. "It's coming to a head." In a few days the boil was even larger. "Look at it now," Ruth said. "It hurts and it's ugly." "We'll have the doctor look at it," her mohter said. "Maybe it's infected."But the doctor could not see Ruth until the next day. That night Ruth took a hot bath. As she soaked herself, the boil burst. Out poured a swarm of tiny spiders from the eggs their mother had laid in her cheek.[/hide]
  4. Well in modern times it can't really happen. They make damn sure you're dead first, and even if they STILL somehow manage to make that mistake, you're definitely dead once the mortician goes to work. There's virtually no chance you could get buried alive these days, but back then it did happen.
  5. There are several reasons why HL is better than Halo. 1. A sci-fi storyline that makes sense. That is hard to do. 2. Kills are satisfying. Running down Civil Protection with the airboat = win. 3. Levels are varied. 4. You care what happens to the characters. 5. Enemy variety. Halo had like 4 types of enemies, whereas it would be difficult to list the variety of enemies in the HL universe. 6. I'm willing to say it has some of the best physics based puzzles ever in a video game, just as long as they don't pump 10 more seesaw puzzles into episode 3. 7. The gravity gun. Oh the fun we've had with the gravity gun.
  6. Why cement? prevent zumbehs. O god that was so funny. Nah, they do sometimes put cement or something similar down to prevent graverobbing and that stuff. Honestly though, when was the last time you've heard of graverobbing, has it even happened since the 1800's? Also because Mayor West is afraid of zombies.
  7. Better question. How great would it be if they remade it on next-gen consoles, and gave that online play?
  8. I played a WotM demo on a PS2 demo disc that game with a magazine. Spent hours stepping on people, destroying buildings, and throwing gas trucks into people. Oh, those squishy, blood filled people
  9. Actually, yes. Yes. Valve has proved they could do it with all of their "meet the class" videos. You're all talking about Games to Films right ? I keep wondering if they'll ever make a Seinfeld game. :D :? It could always happen. I've seen games in Gamestop for Jackass, Deadliest Catch, Hell's Kitchen, and I swear I'm not kidding, F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
  10. Forget that. Make a Gmod movie! Wait...
  11. You'd be surprised. I've killed plenty of heavies because they can't keep track of me when I dodge around them.
  12. Being mistakenly buried alive while you sleep, and waking up inside the coffin. Claustrophobic and helpless. You can scream and bang on the lid all you want, under 6 feet of dirt and a layer of cement, no one will hear you.
  13. Is it just me or is the ubersaw attracted to spies? Played a 2fort game yesterday as Medic and every other melee kill was a spy.
  14. Gah fail :wall: When I made this thread all I had to go on was posters on bus seats. Now that proper commercials are coming on thats what the movie is ABOUT. Thread can die nao.
  15. The campaign is brilliant. I second that, play campaign before you play multiplayer. Should only take the first day and a half, CoD campaigns are notoriously short.
  16. While I agree that Halo is a great game FunPhish, stop treating it like it's the unquestioned greatest FPS of all time, it's really not. Half-Life and it's sequels are far deeper, with much better stories and characters you actually give a [cabbage] about. It's not just because of modding, Half-Life is the better game because of all that has come from it, mods aside. Oh, and there ARE mods for Halo 3, and there will be more once it comes to PC in 2010.
  17. Something you fail to realize is that there's a reason it has so many fans. It's FUN. Saying that it has a bad community is such a generalization, most people you meet online are decent enough, and when they aren't it's just hilarious. The ONLY complaints I have with Halo is that killing enemies in single player is not as satisfying as it should be, and the price is maybe about $10 over the top.
  18. Thats pretty much what the spy is like. My friend IRL and I were playing on a neverending 2fort public game yesterday, and he was a spy. He told the other team in chat that he was using the cloak and dagger, and was in their intel. Really he was in our spawn. We stationed a heavy-medic pair outside of each of their spawn areas, and when their entire team went to the intel room, we had a demoman kill them all and a scout take the intel. They were stuck in their spawn rooms until that scout had completed 3 runs to win the game. : Itwas close, we won 3-2, so yay for trickery.
  19. I think the PS3 has them.
  20. I love how theres some girl at the far left looking at them like "...no."
  21. I think they made a few 2D games before Halo, but they weren't as big.
  22. Did I miss something?
  23. They do put effort into Sonic, too. It's just that the games were meant to be 2D. No, they haven't put in any effort since the Dreamcast. Sonic Adventure I and II are good examples of good 3D sonic games. It can be done, the sonic team just doesn't care enough to try anymore. Is Sonic Adventure the one where you have to kill enemies to get the things to follow you to the safe area? I think I have a PC port of that somewhere.
  24. There have been plenty of core Mario games that haven't been great. The difference between new Mario games and new Sonic games is that with the Mario games, they put actual effort into it, and it's noticeable. Whereas in Sonic they... don't, and it's not.
  25. Thats... child abuse.
