Japanese culture is the fight till the death, they wont surrender, its just not in their culture, so in WWII america would have lost many more soldiers + the japanese civilians would have grabbed their weapons and fight till no one was left. Eh, I'm too lazy to properly argue anything, but here is my take on what you've said. Essentially, "we" did a "good" thing when we bombed Japan. "We" saved countless lives, and on the American side too. "We" had no alternative, it was the only choice, and the best one at that. Forsaking the lives of 250,000 civilians isn't too much when the other few million are simply human collateral used to balance the scales of morality. What if it had been the other way around ? You might have a different opinion.
