I wouldn't really say that. You can tell sooooooooooo much from someone just by what they say and how they say it. For instance, I can usually tell which of you are cool and which of you are not. I've had plenty of these incidents. Too many too describe in full detail. All I have to say is that it almost always involves - less than $5, peer pressure, tiredness, hunger, and an asian food store.

Most of us, due to our still primitive minds, cannot accept the possibilty of - "that's it and that's all". And so we seek to justify our emotions - usually resulting in a supernatural or "other-worldly" ramification or consequence after death. I was just recently reminded of a comedian. His youtube video was posted here in some thread but for all my life I can't remeber his name nor can I find the thread or google him. He has a really dull flat dry tone of voice and I think he is a Canadian stand-up comedian. A red coat in a purely black and white film betrays reality and ironically, fails to serve the purpose for which it was intended. It was a shameless rape of innocence. Instead of being memorable, it makes me sick. Spielberg can think of no other way to make that little girl an individual and stand out. No. Having personally done 2 years of Latin in high school, and additionally another 5 of German - and both overlapping - I say no. Latin, I'd say definitley do as I cannont count how many times it has helped me to find roots of words I have no clue as to what they mean. Legal and economic definitions also become easier to comprehend and it's fun-er to swear at people in Latin. Then again, I haven't done or spoken one iota of Latin for the last 4 years so - I can't help you out with the intricacies. German, you seem comfortable with and I will say again, it is a very good and useful language to learn and I, whilst learning it, enjoyed it immensely. I can attest to this. Our Latin teacher had gone away for a few months and we had some bad substitute - we had to make do by learning ourselves. It got tedious and annoying very quickly.

I only started watching TV when I was about 6 or 7, and since then have only watched a few favourite shows each week. Lately it's been at most 1 hour a week. I don't think TV is too bad if viewed in moderation. Also, what does define TV ? Any video that you watch on the piece of hardware known as "TV" ? Because, as l0rd, mentioned Hulu is TV on your computer. Does slotting in a DVD into the TV count as TV ? Or buying box sets or even torrenting serials count, because what difference is there, really ? For users like Das and How2PK, who are compulsive and fanatical buyers of movies, serials and other things, is "TV" bad for them ? Personally I think that TV does dampen individual thought and creativity but only to the extent that you are watching it - 3 to 4 hours or more a day. Addiction [however given the number of advertisments, would be hard] is also common. Also, there are "cases" in which "the brain" is directly affected, - but I dont believe in that, and up untill now has been unverified. Another thing I'd like to bring up is, not so much as the actual "TV" itself, but the advertisments for alcohol, overly unhealthy food and other such things.
