Assist System.
I'm dissapointed. I had hoped for an assist system office where you go and check the name of people who list themselves to willingly help others, that way we wouldn't need to find people again. Instead, we still got to find a person willing to do it, the only difference is that we can't get scammed from items... pfff...

Innocent until proven guilty
I'm sick of hearing that sentence being misused and thrown around the internet for all sorts of subjects that have nothing to do with law. For starters, "Innocent proven guilty" is not a universal rule, truth, or anything of that sort. It is only a logical stance that in a system of law, someone accused of something is innocent until proven guilty. If it wasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t the case, anyone could simply sue their neighbour, and if the neighbour cannot prove he did not do what he is accused of, he would go to jail, which would be unfair. "Innocent proven guilty" is a little like saying to the plaintiff: YOU have to prove the defendant did it, the responsability of proof lies with you. If someone makes a claim that is very presumptious, it's only natural you ask for proof. But people often say instead "Oh well, innocent proven guilty right?", and let the liar get away with his lies...

Runescape for a console
Gower said it is 'tempting' but has no solid plans to do so.

A Quest Drought?
A quest every once in a while doesn't hurt. I think 12/year would be ok. I want deeper storylines with more mature themes like vengeance, betrayal, passion, destiny, etc. Doesn't have to be outrageous.. just something deeper.

Ps3 vs. Xbox 360
I'm thinking of asking for either one of those at Xmas. A) I checked a local store's online website and they got different prices for some with higher hardware,"pro", etc.. What's the diffence between those more expensive versions and the normal versions? B) What kind of type of games does each console focus on most? I'm more of an adventure/rpg guy. C) Which one you think is better? And feel free to post some links if you don't want to explain it.

How was your halloween?
I didn't celebrate it. Next year maybe. I ate a bit of candy though, I usually don't; only for special occasions.

Tip.it Times Presents: Reasons to hate Jagex!
I did read it, and my point is that it is being used "figuratively" to mock people who really have very valid complaints. Exactly. The few latest tip.it articles make it sound like the only educated and intelligent opinion is to love Jagex, no matter what they do. Gullible individuals pick up on it, and change their opinions to fit accordingly, it's quite pathetic if you ask me. Nobody knows Jagex's intentions, except Jagex. I just love it when some articles make some claims about Jagex intentions, while they obviously have no idea. The shop update hurt both players and bots. I think it's fine, if it was the only way to get rid of shop botters. But, for the time being, the problem is simply moved. Instead of shop buying, the bots will essence mine, or woodcut. The shop update will only become useful when other forms of botting are eleminated. And Jagex better get at it, it's taking them long enough already. How many years will it take?

Dogs in Varock=NOT ANIMAL ABUSE
Both this thread's arguments and the animal lover arguments are flawed. This thread is based on the very obvious fact that this game is made out of pixels. Of course there is no real animal abuse, gah. -.- The animal lover arguments are based on the fact that this game displays acts of violence to animals. Dogs in Varrock, killing of cows/chickens, etc. Acts which could have a bad influence to the kids playing Runescape. But that is highly flawed, because Runescape also displays acts of violence to human beings: guards, knights, men, farmers, etc. Furthermore, such acts of violence, are present in an enourmous amount of games, tv shows, and movies. Violence is something that is simply present in our society. While very hardcore and bloody games have a noticeable bad influence, Runescape has extremely mild violence. Talk about missing the big picture.

the Downside of the *pk worlds*
Ok so you're saying: you kill someone, but before you can even pick the loot, somebody else uses a special attack on you while you are out of food/low hp and steals both your items and your loot. Hmm, yes, that stinks. Not sure how that can be helped. I guess if you can't beat it, you must become it, aye? Become one of the looters, and do to other people what was done to you, that's the only way out I think.

Today, I got my ears pierced!
I like earrings on males, but I don't like it on females. I know, weird isn't. On males, it gives a style, something special, usually small and discrete. On females, very common and it's usually big elaborate earrings that just hang from the ears, bah.

Jagex = Mystery
So because we have different opinions, you feel the right to insult me. Especially you, solidus. I have no interest in making a debate "my opinion is better than yours", that never ends well. Flammable replies like that, are not worthy of any replies. I suggest you learn to calm down, and not insult people, before you even dare come on this forum.

Jagex = Mystery
I take great care in not criticizing people if it isn't constructive. I suggest you do the same, or "debating isn't for you". :roll:

Jagex = Mystery
You are wrong if you think everybody is ready to cheat(and promote botting) simply to get something cheaper. A lot of people know better than that. I think it's far too easy to criticize the person having an opinion than criticizing the opinion itself. What I do or not do, is none of your business. We all have very reasons to ask ourselves questions about Jagex' intentions. If nobody keeps Jagex on their toes, they will end up doing whatever they want, and what they want is not always good for the players, Miniclip is a perfect example.

Jagex = Mystery
That's true, but you're forgetting that a lot of people would start buying from the Cash Shop now that it would be a legitimate way to spend their money. Also, people feel safer when buying from legit source, than when buying from websites that could scam them. If you still have doubts: Flyff is a perfect example of the success of Cash Shops at keeping the botters away, ask anyone who played the game. 1) Why are you trying to pick a fight? 2) I just have provided an idea: a Cash Shop. 3) This post is a rant, not a suggestion topic. 4) Jagex is a company with paid employees, this is their game, the responsability to provide solutions to their self-created botting problem lies with them.

what would u like for christmas?
Something wearable, and good looking, not like last year's ugly hat.

Jagex = Mystery
I agree with your point. But ultimately, this is their game. It is them who have decided to make it the way it is now, and they are the only ones who can do something about it. And when, time after time, they fail to do something about the botting: it's very discouraging, and it's normal that people get upset. Maybe adding a Cash Shop is the only realistic way to get rid of the botters. People wanting to spend money on Runescape could buy Cash Shop items, whose value in gp would be elevated, thus it would be an indirect way to "buy" gp. I'm not sure what's worse, a CS, or this botting problem...

Jagex = Mystery
Killer, your last post made you sound like you believed that because things will never be perfect, it's fine to accept the situation as it is now. You have to understand that even if things will never be perfect, it is not an excuse to be inactive about it, or to accept mediocrity. The goal when fighting botting is to keep it under control. Many mmorpgs have succeeded at keeping it under control. No mmorpgs have ever completely got rid of it - and that is irrelevant because that's not the point. The point is to keep it under control. Jagex have failed at it, time and time again, despite their efforts. As Dragonlord pointed out, Jagex will need to take some more drastic measures if they hope to get rid of the botters. New random events are temporary solutions - the botting programmers create scripts to complete those new random events shortly after they are released. Mass banning is a temporary solution - the people who own the botters expect their botter to be banned. That is hardly a blow to them, becasue they will just create another bot. Jagex have been tackling the consequences, instead of tackling the cause, and attacking the problem at the source(which I believe is the lack of security Runescape suffers from because it is browser based, but that's just my opinion). As I pointed out, if Runescape succeeds in getting rid of most of the botting problem, then gold farmers may come on Runescape, but only if it is profitable and viable to do so. It would be a much more bearable problem that botting. In all cases, the gold farming companies will use botting as long as they will be able to, it is cheaper and more efficent than gold farmers. That is why talking about gold farmers is irrelevant at this point in time, that debate is for another time.

Jagex jagex jagex...They got it worng? Again?
Rules must have reasons behind them. A rule without a good reason to exist should not be allowed to stay. Would you drop all your items on the ground if Jagex made a rule of it?
-
Jagex = Mystery
Hmm, perhaps. It depends if gold farming on Runescape is as profitable and viable as gold farming on other mmorpgs. If it isn't, the gold farming companies will not be interested into sending their gold farmers on Runescape. If Runescape is profitable and viable to them, then they will send their gold farmers. It would still be an improvement compared to those invasive computer-generated bots. Atleast gold farmers are human beings, doing what they have to do to survive.

Jagex = Mystery
It's true that Jagex has started adding more high level updates. But I feel they are of the same swallow kind. I would prefer to see additions to existing skills, and areas I feel have been negected, or left unfinished. That's my preference, to each their own. It would be a shame to lose all those good suggestions because of people's unawareness of the copyright. If you're right, a mod should make a sticky about it, to make people aware of it. Since you have technical knowledge of it, you could pm a Tip.it mod to bring this to their attention?

Jagex jagex jagex...They got it worng? Again?
They'd rather you work to get the items all over again, spending more time on Runescape, thus spending more money if you are a member. That's my opinion, of course. And Jagex dares to ban people who it, while the rule is (in my opinion) there solely for their personal befinit, despicable.
