  1. *Someone Gets It! Quite honestly, I was afraid to take risks when I started as well, but pkings about over-coming that. Its about being willing to risk everything for the satisfaction of defeating an equally skilled player (and the loot of course ^_^).
  2. If you've read those topics a dozen times and you and everyone like you has responded in the typical way. Imagine how many times I've read, "get over it". Just stop posting...seriously... Well, then you know how we feel. If Jagex had kept that whole thing, then there would be no RuneScape. Get that through your thick skull. Spoken like a true child. With all the backstabbing, luring, and pjers that's damn near impossible. Infact, I'd wager to say that for a single player with average stats, the odds of "bhing" that much are mathematically insignificant \

  4. Why is it always black people *face palm
  5. Personally, I think they should just shoot him the head. You're never too fat for that one, am I right xD? Then again...I think the corpses of death row inmates should be screened for blood borne disease, drained of their blood and stripped of internal organs after death...
  6. After reading your post, especially the suggestion at the end, I kind of did a o.O. But after thinking about it for a second, I realize both of us are the same xD. We're both that old man going "back in my day..."
  7. Its the obvious things which are hardest to explain v.v
  8. You sir have missed the entire point of that essay. Fact is those two "aspects" were so different, we might as well have been playing different games.
  9. I haven't touched runescape in months ( the whole thing has kind of lost its appeal to me since the anti-rwt updates) but after returning to these forums and checking the rants section I've gained valuable insight on the pker/ skiller controversy. Fact is...we were playing completely different games! Don't get me wrong, just about everyone starts out skilling, but some people just felt an unnatural attraction to the wilderness. I remember starting the game in 2002, killing rats for a bit then wandering into the wilderness. I figured I could get rich by killing rats and selling the "cow meat" to hungry pkers. Being a "noob" I wandered into the wilderness and got myself killed, but I returned to the wild again and again just for the excitement of fighting. Later on, and I mean much later on, I became an experienced staker and pker ( pked 25 2hs in a row xD) and amassed a fortune of four million gp. To be honest, I loved pking. I would have given up all the money I would ever earn ever just to be able to pk without having to worry about money, or potions, or food or arrows. When I discovered staking, I knew I'd found THE WAY. That's when the updates came about, first staking. That didn't entirely upset me. I liked staking a lot, but I had a deep seated love for pking. The bounty hunter update completely destroyed the game for me. I mean, something about getting 3 vs 1'ed just didn't appeal to me. It made all the backstabbing, all the bs, all the nastiness I'd learned to avoid in the wilderness insurmountable. Worst of all, without a team it was completely impossible. When the "single" bounty hunter update came, I was excited. I'd put off playing runescape for a few months just waiting for the update. I decided to train my magic for the "locate target" spell and set off for what I thought would be the greatest pking trip of my life. "Just like old wildy," I told myself. That is until I learned , from experience, that one player could be attacked by as many as five player at once. Not as bad as multi bounty hunter but still complete garbage. Let it be known, it is virtually impossible to make a profit from bounty hunter without a huge team... That day I dropped everything I owned and logged out. Two years ago I used to stand in the wild and wonder, wonder how people could spend their time in runescape monotonously skilling while I was having awesome, no holds bars fights in the wilderness. Hell, back then I broke even most of the time but the satisfaction of the fight made the whole thing worth. Well the fact is they weren't playing Runescape and neither was I. You see, for all intensive purposes we were playing different games. I was playing the killer, the thug, the vagabond and he was playing the working man, the white collar, the silent majority. That is why you don't see "skillers" sympathizing with pkers who have lost their whole world. To them, that world never even existed. Tell me what you think.
  10. This reminds me of another argument I saw on this sight, but badly written and poorly thought out. Talking to people who did nothing but skill is a waste of time. They honestly can't see how runescape has changed. For the pker this game is now garbage. I suggest:Rumble fighter
  11. And did the exact opposite for activites like fishing and woodcutting, aru Because those activities were sooooo enjoyable, aru =3 Ps, see siggy.
  12. Deflation hurts the providers of said materials. You pay us less, thus we make less money (boohoo, right?). If I were into combat or skills the require more money than they make you, I'd be in the same boat as you guys. But I'm not, I'm into Woodcutting and Mining myself, always have been. I was never making any big cash back when bots were running the show, but now it seems that I've been cut a break. I said this before, the tables have turned. Before, it was everyone else who profited from lower prices in raw materials, and the gatherers who suffered because prices only got lower and lower. Now it's everyone else who suffers from high prices, and us gatherers who profit from it. Everyone was too dependent on bots, and yes this inflation isn't all good either. There should be balance in the end, or you'll all just have to get used to spending a lot or getting the stuff yourself :P If you were a "gatherer" what the hell did you do with your money? Bots kept prices low for everyone and made activites like cooking, pking, fletching and rune crafting much more enjoyable for the masses.
  13. What about the people who spent mills to get prayer-less, pure 99 stats for staking? Those who got 85+ mage for teleblock? Guess they can put their effort toward losing whatever they have left in bounty hunter when their "one on one" turns into a four vs one cluster ****.
  14. >_< None of you have any idea what bounty hunter is like. I suggest you try bh for a week, at least. Then you'll hate the game, like they do.
  15. In other words, this is a " please pity me" thread? Skilling is not the problem. Gathering money was the problem. You can gather money and RWT without skilling. (Flax, green dragons, gathering ingredients.) Actually the article centers on two ideas: empathy and provoking thought. Why would I want pity over an online game? The sad thing is that for people who talk about "getting over it" and "adapting" you can't even imagine what its like to be put in the position of someone who lost most of what made this game worth while to them :|
  16. A REPLACEMENT? Ok picture this, they replace your yew and magic trees with a tree that if you attempt to cut it alone your axe breaks, if you cut it with a group as soon as you get a log you get a skull on your head, all the other woodcutters attack you and you cant log out for 3 minutes. Bounty hunter and tournaments were not a replacement, they are garbage. Thats like saying pantera should get back together with kurt cobaine on guitar.. Your not a pker, its obvious so you have no idea what you are talking about. \ I've never seen such a beautifully written piece on these forums, on any forums in my entire life. I laughed so hard I had to wipe the tears from my eyes. Do I have your permission to put this in my sig =D> Honestly, this thread is excellent. The point (which people seem to be missing left and right) is not to suggest that jagex actually do these things, but to get skillers to see how they'd would feel if they'd been put in the same position and to show them that just because the changes didn't affect them personally its not logical to think they couldn't have. People argue that the wild was the root of these problems but the fact that skills can so easily be botted was probably more of a cause for the problem than anything else. It would have been much better for jagex to simply remake the skill system all together, making the whole thing more dynamic and involving than clicking a few times and hoping the food doesn't burn or my pic axe doesn't hit an exploding rock and embed itself in my chest. I hear people screaming that the skills make runescape unique, but the fact is just about every other rpg has a similar skill system, and many do it better than runescape ever has. Mabinogi anyone? For whoever was saying maple story is all pvp and blah blah blah: Maple story has never had a pvp combat system and for that reason I refuse to play it. The point of the game is to kill monsters to gain weapons and items to kill more monsters. I see no point in grinding (something I don't enjoy) just to be able to grind even more. Which is why I disagree with "get over it, start skilling view point". Honestly I think you guys are great, add me in game and we'll talk if I ever get on. My ign is: l u v s i c
  17. OWNED? OWNED? THESE PEOPLE RIGHT AN ARTICLE THIS INSIGHTFUL AND ALL YOU CAN SAY IS OWNED? WHY DON'T YOU JUST TAKE ALL THE PILLS IN YOUR MEDICINE CABINET AT ONCE! The ratio of pkers to skillers was one to two thousand and you want him to think before he posts? This is one of the best written posts I've ever laid eyes on in my life. Please do us all a favor and crawl back into whichever dark ,sticky corner of the interenet you came from and stay there. None of us will miss you.
  18. Lumping merchants in with rwt and account scammers? Obviously the doochebags didn't suffer from these updates. Judging by your posts they're thriving! :D
  19. Would you mind telling me which article that is? I don't remember reading about it. 17 December 2007 - Future Changes to Recent Updates I'll quote the important bit: =/ by that I think they're referring to the "single" bh.
  20. Are you illiterate or just [bleep]ing stupid? I said I quit because the single bh update was just a pjing hell hole. Learn to read, [wagon]. P.S. You can go kill yourself now.
  21. :D But how would I make money? I used to fish for the money at first, but stopped that to pk as soon as I could. I remember picking up a few addy arrows off the ground with my ranger and pking someone for 30k "back in the day", or looting a r2h early in the day, then staking it and winning around 2m by the end of the day. I know these feats would be almost impossible to duplicate, so what exactly should I do for money when I get back. I was more of the merchant, pker type. (I used to hate skilling). -.-
  22. I love how everyone who's "not racist" defends themselves by saying they have friends of said race. Pffft..now we believe you.
  23. 8-) After the getting ganked (three vs one ftw) in the new "single bounty hunter" a few months ago. I dropped everything I owned (about 3m) and quit the game. I'm willing to start over though...maybe on a new account. You see, I used to love pking and staking, and I enjoyed the dizzying rush I got from fighting someone and seeing their items in my inventory =P~ . That being said. I was a hardcore pker before the updates. Do you think it would be worth it for me to come back now?
  24. :XD: Thanks for the quick replies everyone. I'm glad I didn't drown in the bath tub but I still have no idea what happened.
