1. The initial setup procedure is a bit more complex than that, assuming you are setting it up on your own server rather than the pre-made forums that 'free' forum sites offer. I've had good experiences with phpBB3 in the past and considering it's free it's definitely a good option to go with for a starting forum. Most forum-software follows the same setup procedure. The standard procedure tends to be that you'll require a SQL database for the forum to interact with. You'll need the details of the host, the username, password etc. Alongside that, you'll need to upload some files which the forum operates from, modifying the file-attributes to allow reading / writing, and then run an installation script. These tend to be fairly easy to follow and providing you have the details things should run smoothly. In terms of interaction with your website, it won't be pasting source-code, the primary linkage is simply through a URL to the forums main page. For phpBB3, this page documents the installation procedure, so you may want to give that a read through :- Install

Great to see that there are others who enjoy it just as much! :) I'd agree with you on that point though RpgGamer, certain areas / episodes are not quite as good as the others, but they've never gone on for too long thankfully! Have to agree there too indy - great picture! ;) (Although quite large for the forum :P)
3. Hah, gotta' love their phrasing - Jagex are contributing to Ubuntu's DirectX capabilities? ;) Actually quite interesting considering I had to resort to silly methods to get HD working on Ubuntu - will have to see if it's working better soon! :)

Couldn't agree more - they've got a great knack for finding new, original twists - especially things you don't expect! Much like the latest episode... <_< The characters are done very well, very diverse set and each appeal to the viewer in different ways. Casey's awesome definitely - what about Captain Awesome? :P I reckon I can probably relate, it's not especially one that you can pick it up mid-series and enjoy it, definitely something that you have to get into the character-roles and general concepts through the starting episodes. I initially wasn't sure of it when I saw the first episode, after a few more though I was hooked! Of-course a lot is down to personal preference, I've got a sister who loves it and another who hates it. :P
5. In RuneScape, I tended to use IRC a lot for RuneScript when I used to play and occasionally use it now for keeping up with an old clan. I do use it a lot at the moment though outside of RuneScape as we've got quite a popular IRC Channel for Edinburgh Uni's computing students, got a nice, friendly atmosphere and IRC clients are usually nice and lightweight so aren't obtrusive. :)

Was fairly surprised to see that there's no talks about this TV-Series around on TIF! It's a brilliant action / comedy / drama series centered around a computer-nerd who has a bit of a run-in with an old roommate and the CIA. ;) It's been going since 2007 now and is on it's third season at the moment with a new episode coming out on Monday! I'm terrible at description, so if you're interested here's the IMDB Link :- Chuck. If you do take a look at it I'd recommend watching both the first and second episode before judging it, the first sets the scene and the second is where it gets good! Anyone else been keeping up with the series? :)
7. Oh yea - I did that, thanks for the tip though. ;) Still, even with that - selling 200k or so Air runes, 50 at a time, takes awhile. :P Obviously you have the increased profit at higher levels, but you also (at 99) have 10 selling processes for every 1 buying process.
8.
I put that in spoiler tags :P, not sure if there's people who are very sensitive to any information about the quest - although I did have a bit more info' regarding the end. Anyways, they tend to drop noted items, Pure Essence, Silver Ore, Chocolate Bars so far and seem to drop 3 charms at a time. Which campfire? I don't recall ever having to do anything with a campfire...
9. From release of it up till now, probably ~1 hour? I'll put it in spoiler :-
Option to have all allotment patches weeded by farmers for free. It also looks like we have another monster-area to fight after the end of this. :)
These are cursed variants of the tooth-monsters that help you fight the battle at the end of the quest after the Rift gets destroyed. There are 3 variants representing all forms of combat triangle. First few drops :- 3x Gold Charms, 10 Pure Essence (Noted), Bones 3x Gold Charms, 10 Pure Essence (Noted), Bones 12x Chocolate Bar (Noted), Bones 5x Silver Ore (Noted), Bones
10. Quest done - quite enjoyed that, animations, dialog and effects all really great! :) Very impressed by Zanaris' overall re-design - they did a great job!
11. It's not really that viable to RuneCraft in the Dungeons, even with a high-level of RuneCrafting. I tried it with my older character with 99 for the 10x Air boost and even then the selling and buying time just increases far too fast. (Although I did manage to get up to 2M GP in the Dungeon! :P) A sell-all / buy-all function definitely shouldn't be introduced. At the higher-levels that would allow for incredibly easy access to afk'ing the RC'ing, even with the drastically-lowered experience rates, if the buying / selling time was almost non-existent it would be possible to have your character RC'ing for hours without much effort thanks to the profit at higher levels. @PlasmaDog, The game didn't kick me out when I was doing it and I'm fairly certain I was doing it for at-least an hour. You would however get kicked out after the 6-hour limit otherwise, but of-course with the Dungeon's rejoin feature that's not too much of a limitation.
12. Ah, I see. :) I've not thoroughly looked over many 3D-API's yet, but my initial preference is to JOGL over Java3D. Although JOGL does have certain complexities in areas which you'd usually assume to be simple, I do like the overall design and structure of it - it's certainly been relatively intuitive to learn so far. Had to laugh at the video - nothing better than choosing a Homer Simpson model for the initial-testing! :P Should be fun to work on a project like that, I'd love to get to work on an RPG with JOGL, but I definitely don't want to get ahead of myself like I have with other projects so many times! There's a massive amount of work to do with a project like that, let alone an MMORPG, but it should be a great experience - good luck with it! :)
13. That's a very sweeping claim to say that they're all frauds, especially considering there's many who won't / can't have been tested. I did state that this one seems a bit uncertain and that it really comes down to your belief, rather than having a need to point out frauds. ;)
14. Taking this summer to work on learning the in's and out's of the more popular 3D-API's, JOGL at the moment. Not much really at the moment due to being slap-bang in the middle of exams, but did do this this evening for fun :) :- [hide=N64 Anyone?][/hide]
15. A primary issue with this is that everyone's taking it from a very scientific perspective. These proclamations from people, generally 'realised-men' / (women :P), have occurred for many, many years and largely aren't explainable by scientific means. A large majority of it comes down to your beliefs and your philosophical perspective on things. By immediately trying to adopt a science-based perspective that's biasing your understanding of it. I do find this one odd as it seems to be very much a self-proclaimed action and for the large part, these phenomenal occurrences tend to be passed down by observers rather than having the actual person try to publicise it. In the end, it's not about whether these things can have an explainable outcome by scientists, nor whether people are philosophically changed by it, rather that you realise something for yourself from these situations instead of being biased by everything stated by each side. :)
16. I'd just echo what Bladewing said again, in that people do tend to place larger emphasis on those negative things than the positive. Someone who's acting very annoyingly is going to play much greater emphasis than someone acting in kindness, for the most part. This does lead to conclusions like you're suggesting, whereas there is a large amount of friendly and helpful players, especially on P2P servers. In regards to your comment on your brother - I'd personally just put that down to the combination of being able to act 'bigger' over the internet alongside the fact that he's obviously younger and much more likely to be prone to influenced by the stereotype of what he sees people 'should' act like. What can help, is having someone like you playing an influence in showing him that's not the way to act. ;)
17. Interesting to see that this has very much developed so quickly - a good development though I'd agree. :) I am interested in seeing what happens in terms of voting-reform, I would hope something reasonable is established, but I do agree with the worries that Conservatives will try and just block attempts. Also - Cameron's first speech at the moment! ;)
18. Off-Topic :- You should be glad you didn't get addicted - getting to 90 was such a grind! Although Euro parties were a bit more fun, bots really ruined that game though... On-topic :- There's not really that much you'll find in the way of free worlds for green-dragons in particular, as has been mentioned they're very profitable. What you probably will find is in the Chaos-Tunnels in particular, there's a large number of bots from my experience. Exploiting the fact that they tend to ignore a dragon if you've attacked it can make it easier for you to get kills. Otherwise - PvP worlds are pretty much guaranteed to be less busy, but there's the risk factor there! Arguably, people should abide by a decent moral standard when going for training spots. But to some degree, you're always going to get the people in MMO's that either enjoy ks'ing or believe it's not wrong. There is of-course the concept that an MMO' is largely about competition, perhaps in that sense it is rational for you to need to compete for spots? :)
19. That's rather odd, didn't realise the mechanics work quite like that. My initial guess based on those mechanics would be that focus sight doesn't aid the cannon, but of-course I could well be wrong! As far as I'm aware though at a reasonable ranged level minor bonuses to a cannon don't have a very noticeable effect.
20. I had issues with Karmic when playing RuneScape and tried all sorts - performance was fine in Safe Mode, but I wasn't able to launch into Standard Detail / High-Detail. I'm in the same boat with Lucid. The solution that I found was using Firefox alongside Java within Wine which immediately allows me to launch into any mode alongside not having any negative impact on performance. It's not the most convenient of solutions, but after playing around quite a bit it's the one I found. ;)
21. Have they removed the Big Wolf from White Wolf Mountain then - I'd always presumed it's referring to that rather than a typo?
22. Yea, as has been said - kiting's the process of attacking until the enemy is near, then running away a portion to dodge their attack and repeating. It's prevalent in a lot of other MMOs, but not so much in RuneScape. It's easiest with range-based attacks like Ranged and Magic, but with Dungeoneering especially it's quite possible to attack with a weapon like a maul, run a portion away then do the same, avoiding most / all of the enemies attacks. It's obviously a lot more intensive, but it can be quite handy at times once you're used to the technique.
23. Haha, quite true - my mistake, I'd be very surprised if Jagex allowed them to be kept for a long time, knowing that later on it could well be heavy junk traded as a 'rare'. This was a known bug from the roll-back by the way, but supposedly Jagex cleared them all. :P
24. Not really anything you can do with it, what it does show is it's an item Jagex missed with their claim of removing all the items outside of Daemonheim from Daemonheim. ;) Guess your options are to simply keep it as an 'untradeable rare' or simply destroy it.
25. For Java's version of integers, they use 32-bit signed, integers which can range from -2.147b to 2.147b. However, they could easily use a long-type instead which ranges far, far greater - so the integer limit really isn't a major limitation. I can see why they say they'd prefer not to have to convert to a long for the item-limits (although even that shouldn't be awfully hard! ;)), but when introducing a new feature like the total experience counter this should be very simple to do. More on-topic, can definitely go with those Dungeoneering suggestions! :)
