  1. Looks fantastic! :) I made a similar concept around a year ago, but this was developed in a Java Application - mainly due to the lack of analysis options available via Jagex's own Grand Exchange area. It was certainly beneficial for me - without a doubt a web-based version should be awesome!
  2. Mmm, follow the same views as all the rest on here - Tip.it's been the site i've used almost exclusively over my years playing RuneScape, finding the other sites bloated, slow and generally unattractive in comparison. It is definitely the first one I turn to - Jagex's ratings are poor. ;) Should be platinum without a doubt. Has this got something to do with the recent change in Advertisements to be reported?
  3. If I'm right in thinking, it was based on the class that was picked for the character, which could possibly be related to only having the 9HP (Not sure if other classes yielded only 9HP too.) - you can see both the original poster and the other account mentioned, "ioveliest", have similar stats such as 2 Prayer and 2 Attack.
  4. Unfortunately not, well done though mind you! :) There's another account, "ioveliest" - Adventurer's Log: Ioveliest A-Log
  5. It's an interesting concept, definitely something that has quite some potential if used in the right situation. Obviously now hard-drive space isn't a huge issue now but I'm pretty sure some of the other things could be great. I was intrigued to see that this was a similar concept to that used by Spore, definitely a fantastic example of how this kind of thing can be utilised in a successful environment! I had been working on a concept not too long ago that involved biological viruses attacking cells and having a system in which the game would allow dynamic creation of viruses based on mutation from other viruses. These would adopt an entirely different look and trait, essentially allowing for the game to create a massive amount of permutations without having the necessity to hard-code them yourself. (Unfortunately this has been side-lined due to exams, but I thought it sounded cool nonetheless!) Creating something like this, or at least creating a game that has any aspects of dynamic-content is a brilliant concept to try and develop, albeit more difficult than creating a simple game.
  6. From checking the Adventurer's Log: Strange?
  7. Looks like a very well made guide, lots of information and well-defined, good job! :) I must say I did use the 'L-Setup' that has been mentioned previously for pouches all the way to 99, I definitely did find it better in my case to use, so it's nice to see that information's there for anyone who wants to try it! I was also interested to see that pouch-repair is now available via Lunar NPC-Contact. Do you happen to know if this is more viable to use than Abyssal-repairs? Factoring in the time taken to repair without moving as well as the extra run you'd get via the Abyss.
  8. Runecrafting, with 19.5M experience. :) I trained it to around Level 95, finding that it was a skill I really enjoyed. At that, I decided to veer off path and train some other skills - I shortly came back to it and trained it up to 99 for the challenge and found I never stopped training it as it's the most enjoyable thing in Runescape for me. :D
  9. For me it'd have to be Game Engine Developer, working with the underlying framework of things has always very much intrigued me - a lot more than the higher-level areas, although I think I'd quite enjoy any software-developer position in the game! :)
  10. Hmm, hopefully - would definitely be an interesting read! Props to Gerhard all the same for helping! :)
  11. Glad to see that he won the case, was very surprised by Evony acting the way they did considering most of Bruce's points were entirely valid! :P The advertising for that game is just pathetic. I didn't see mention of Gerhard's testimony though in the article? Do you have a reference to what he said?
  12. Heh, yea - quite true, although you can of-course see why it's needed in this case. I don't agree with the fact that they tested using a goldfish, common sense really dictates that although the goldfish still could be classed as a pet and violating the law, really the law would be more catered to other pets, like you said - a dog, gerbils etc. I wouldn't be surprised if the owner was selling other pets to under-16s, but testing with a goldfish seems like an attempt to just catch out the owner which isn't a particularly fair test. 1984's quite a famous book centering on the idea of Totalitarianism within the government, it's an interesting read in some ways and well written - not quite as nice a read as your average novel though! :P George Orwell - 1984 - Google Books
  13. I commented on this when seeing it on BBC News just last night, initially I thought it must of been just another crazy sign of stupidity within enforcing laws in Britain - harsher criminals get away with things and yet people like this get punished. Also makes me think of things like Circus fairgrounds giving out goldfish as rewards, how many under-16s do you think get those? ;) Yet, one does wonder that surely in order to consider a 'sting-operation', the pet shop must of been reported for breaking the laws of selling pets to under-16s? Even though this case is just a goldfish, it may well be that the pet-shop was selling other pets to under-16s. I certainly remember real morons when I was younger, talking about buying gerbils just to let them go and run down the road - I'm glad that the law's here to try and prevent this kind of thing happening. I don't think the boy would really need permission to buy the fish, I'm not up on the law - but I'd presume it's not illegal for under-16s to attempt to purchase pets, rather it's illegal for the shop to complete the transaction. That's what I'd presume they're asking for - the boy to obtain details on if the shop did that. Off-topic: Ahh, even more snow in Scotland!
  14. I've not really been heavily into PC-Gaming for a while, so I'm a bit out of touch I s'pose, but I don't think I'd enjoy having such a large number of monitors, I'd imagine it almost over-complicates trying to see everything? I can definitely see the desire though to see a high-resolution, high-quality graphics game split over them just for looks though. :^_^:
  15. Some of the setups here really are just quite insane! :P I do almost wonder if the extremity of the setups actually warrant what they're used for - but either way, interesting to see! :) Being a poor student, I've simply got my four-year old computer, with a simple 1280x1024 monitor, alongside my laptop when I'm doing other things. Annoyingly, our crappy internet setup at Uni' is a 'login' system so it's rare to actually be able to get the computer and laptop online at the same time! But that just encourages me to work on programming projects a lot of the time, so it's not all bad. :^_^:
  16. Mmm, I quite agree with you. Mod Raven certainly seems pretty enthusiastic about it all, level-headed enough to sort out the silly suggestions but take in the decent ones from the forums at-least, perhaps he doesn't know what he's getting into? :P I am looking forward to seeing what he produces, first time in a while I've been intrigued by an event-update actually - kudos to him! :)
  17. @Above, Aww, don't shoot people down before they've even got going - need to start somewhere and aiming high's not the end of the world! :) However, ilovetopk is quite right in some ways, site-based games like ArenaScape are rather more sophisticated than your average block of HTML-code and you'll need to get quite a bit more proficient with other languages before you look to make something like that. Stick with the basics of HTML for now, if you find yourself enjoying that - make a few side projects, see what fancy web-designs you can get up with just your current knowledge, try and make a few innovative things that challenge you! :) Once you think you're pretty good with that, read around a bit - the Internet's article base, particularly on languages is fantastic! PHP, JavaScript and SQL-Database manipulation tends to be the next few steps people go by, so have a play around with those and see if you can understand how they all work. Once you really feel like you're the best there is - take a bash at making something like ArenaScape, or even just a simpler game but with the same core-concept! Most of all, enjoy the ride! It's the learning that's the best part of it all. :) Edit :- I've always found that w3schools is a fantastic resource for a lot of guides on getting to know the beginnings of things - there may be small things that you'll need to search elsewhere for tips, but for the most part I found I got a lot of use out of it. Their homepage is at this URL: http://www.w3schools.com/
  18. That's what I thought when I read that Mod's reply too - I guess if you were using MouseKeys without the 'accelerated' movement, allowing for the 'jump' then perhaps it complies partially as you need to hold down the key to move the mouse-pointer gradually, but otherwise it's simply a single press of a button to a fixed movement of the mouse-pointer, seems kind of contradictory to me!
  19. A "rar" file is actually an archive, similar to a zip, tar etc. These contains files which are usually compressed within them, it's an easy way to bunch a group of files together and transfer them all within the one file. The program typically used to open up a RAR file is WinRAR (Assuming you're using Windows here), which can be found here :- http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm (Mods: I'm assuming this link's fine to post, very well known - if not just remove it of-course!) You'll want to download the appropriate version for you at the top of that page, but in most cases it'll be the top-link. (x84 (32-Bit)). Once that's installed and proper associations configured, you should be able to just double-click on the RAR file to open it up, then 'Extract' the files inside (I'm presuming these are the MP3s) to a folder of your choice using WinRAR (Extract button at the top.)
  20. Yes, I believe so - i've just tried the same thing on my F2P character I'm working on - absolutely nothing works. :(
  21. Best part of the update for me! :^_^: I remember replying to a thread on RSOF that suggested exactly this and thought it would be a fantastic idea! Edit :- I love how you get this on RSOF, even before they've tried the content!
  22. For those still interested, I found a link when I was trying to get this video after it was taken down, it's on Megaupload. Not quite sure if I should be posting the link though considering a lot of the legal issues surrounding it! Perhaps PMs would be ok though? :) Yea, I think a lot of the hype is (was?) still present after the video due to it being Jagex's title and different to RuneScape! I think the major issue being that the same Engine's been used for MechScape as is in RuneScape, causing a lot of similarities in the core-system, just having content that differs. I can obviously see why it's been done, considering how long they've spent perfecting that Engine over the years, but it would be awesome to have an entirely newly developed MMORPG brought out by Jagex - with no ties to Runescape whatsoever! I'm quite glad they've taken things back to the drawing board, so to speak, with this. I'm pretty sure there's a lot we didn't see with the video, but for the large part it would be good for Jagex to truly make this a seperate title to RuneScape and really make it worth everything we've been told about it.
  23. I'm assuming by 'instanced', it's not just a single instance per person, rather you could have a single instance for a group - perhaps have the same instance for all the players who are in the same clan with a particular rank? Something like that would be necessary to allow groups to share the same instance but impose limitations on the so-called 'crashers'. I'm not certain, in the past in my annoyance at crashers I have ranted to friends about how Runescape should have instanced bosses, it would certainly be a relief to not worry about crashers - as well as the rising number of boss hunters and higher levels, this could become more of a problem. I've always assumed Jagex have just had the competitive approach - "if you can't win in a fight for it - level higher!" kind of thing...Not really going to apply much when you can't level higher though, right? ;)
  24. Congratulations! :^_^: Like's been said, the dedication to strive to get max experience in anything is fantastic, great job - nice to see that you stuck with the skill you enjoyed so much! :)
  25. I do agree with you on Summoning, it's probably the rarest as it's the most recent and is still rarely achieved as the first 99 - although with planning I'd say Slayer is a harder one to get untrimmed. However, I don't think Villandra used Soul Wars for her Untrimmed-Summoning? She still achieved it untrimmed and from what I recall, she didn't do anything like looting chests / lootsharing either. With planning, it's quite achievable just by charm-hunting.
