  1. Good luck with it, definitely - challenging goals are always great. :) I think Villandra's really influenced quite a lot of people with her achievement which is great to see! Gold amulets seem to be dropping quite a bit now, was it a merchanting clan that picked them up? May need to be careful now! :P Other than that - you may want to change the colour of the headings from blue, not sure on what forum-theme you're using but on the Tip.it theme it really makes for difficult reading. :)
  2. Gah, that really sounds like a particularly awful nerf, I can see their belief for wanting members to gain more experience than a free-world but they certainly seem to have gone about it the wrong way!
  3. For the boss - Stomp undoubtedly. I admire that it requires more skill than others, but the real nuisance is the luck factor of rocks blocking lodestones - you simply can't do anything as far as I'm aware so it really just comes down to chance, not something I'm fond of. (Not to mention arrows get blocked from being picked up off the ground as they end up behind the wall!) For an item, I've actually just bound a Tier 5 longbow, I had all my melee stats, ranged and magic at 40 - so any combat is viable for me, but for now I've predominantly used ranged. (Have actually gone from 40 - 47 Ranged whilst training Dungeoneering exlusively!)
  4. Alongside zhong's suggestion, there's also a boss later on that has dropped a staff each time I've killed him - Har'lakk the Riftsplitter I believe, so later on you could get the elemental staves but that doesn't really help at the beginning.
  5. Personally, I don't think so. If you want to go for a difficult achievement with an untrimmed cape that's fine - but it should really be about your achievement rather than needing others to boost your ego. ;) You need to make a decision if you want to get another 99 and trim it, or stick with your untrimmed.
  6. With the clan chat, I can definitely see it's uses and it seems pretty good. I think the 'Add Chat' ability would function better as another button, rather than a right-click option as it's more fitting to the context. All the other right-click options are relevant to the parent-option clicked on, whereas add-chat is simply a global ability rather than relating to the others. Good idea. :) With the total experience, I most definitely agree! An ingame ability to see overall experience is really needed, on my free-to-play character I'm constantly wondering how much experience I have overall and can't check anywhere as I'm not ranked on the total level hi-scores yet! Most definitely support this one.
  7. That was on my free character, so non-members. :) Is it the base exp' that is low, or is it after any specific multipliers?
  8. It's quite viable to get much more than that, this is my last dungeon's experience on my F2P character :- [hide=Floor 18] [/hide] This was from completing 17 Dungeons continuously to get prestige up and soloing a dungeon, getting all the bonus rooms - killing what monsters I could. I'd estimate this took about 10 minutes to do that dungeon-run. (Note I also had a death at the Boss). I would state however that this was a particularly good run with no skill doors blocking my way! ;)
  9. I can understand your presumption, considering my character name at the side, but still an assumption it is. In my previous mentioned posts I've mentioned that it's on my free-to-play character. This character is entirely free to play and has never had members. ;) As has already been stated, there are numerous reports of F2P players getting members-based doors, so it's not just my ranting! :P I've had Liquid doors that I'm presuming require Herblore, although didn't specify a base-herblore level so perhaps that was wrong. I have however had an Agility door that required 68 Agility. What I would probably mention is that Jagex do state that up to Level 4 is the maximum complexity for F2P, we can do Level 6 but that then yields members-based skills in places. I think the minimum complexity without having members content yet having the full dungeoneering experience would probably be complexity 4 - only including farming and hunting, yet still requiring everything else which is Free-to-play. This does unfortunately still yield a negative experience bonus for F2P, so personally I'm sticking to complexity 6 as the number of members-based skill doors I come across isn't that huge, not impacting experience in that many occurrences.
  10. Definitely a helpful explanation that Jagex really messed up on explaining, nice one! I (shamefully :P) kept resetting my prestige any time it said I have to and was simply repeating the highest floor over and over, thinking it was the best way to go before realising that my prestige really was dropping me down and figured out what to do after a while!
  11. Hmm, oops! Something slipped up somewhere, people must have had fun seeing such high-levels from a skill like RC, obviously glad they're rolling back! :)
  12. I'm in no way being hypocritical, rather I'm stating that I dislike having these skill doors in the free-version of the game. I don't want to pay for the members-content (although I have done for the past 4 years on a different character, so it's not that I don't support Jagex ;) ), and to me members content spans over to things like having requirements to do a specific task from that skill - i.e Door limits for P2P skills. It's simply in that these don't fit in with the free-portion of the game. Although arguably, we could take higher, members restricted tasks from other skills as a counter-point here. Furthermore, given that I'd presume Jagex want to actively keep up the stance that they're portraying themselves as being, I'd imagine that it's beneficial for them to pursue areas of the game that don't hold true with their ideology, particularly removing P2P elements from the F2P game, to try and prevent the view of the F2P game being a demo. As previously stated though, it's not like I expect them to - rather it would be something I'd like to see, there is a difference there, even if you can't see it. I somehow doubt that they're basing that much emphasis on removing these elements, "all this time they've been making this". I think it's quite fair to presume that they're placing emphasis on the random generation of dungeons and the plethora of other content necessary with the new skill. It takes a lot, even more for Jagex I'd imagine, to have the inability to bring out updates based on technical limitations and I think this may just be a case of not giving priority to it - which is fine by me, it's certainly a minor point which doesn't deserve consideration over most other things. Rather I'm trying to state that an experienced developer should be able to see methods of seperating content into categories and grabbing things from either one, based on an accounts status. Jagex have developed an MMO on a Java platform, they should be capable of doing this! :)
  13. So far I've only seen doors that require Herblore and Agility in my progression on a free-to-play character. However, these aren't a necessity for completion of the dungeon, just bonus rooms. This has been spoken about on the RSOF and apparently there are 'technical limitations' for removing the P2P content from the F2P dungeons, but no doors ever impact the completion of a dungeon. Even so, I dislike them being there as they do impact the resultant overall experience that one can obtain. I'm fine with having my experience limited by lower skills, but not by content I simply don't want to pay for - I think 'technical limitations' is a very poor excuse too, Jagex are very well known for their intuition when dealing with difficulties in this area and I'm pretty sure they could find a solution.
  14. I've almost exclusively used Ranged throughout my entire Dungeoneering gaming, I'm now Level-31 and have gained 4 ranged levels from Level-40. (F2P). I almost seem to exclusively always get at least 2 bows and a set of decent arrows each game even though I'm playing at the highest complexity, as well as having a decent bow and fractite arrows bound for each floor. Certainly for me - Ranged is the most viable option for me here and I've not been hindered even once by the spawning of items / lack of fletching. Perhaps I'm lucky? Or perhaps the spawns are based on the predominantly used combat-skill?
  15. According to the skill's milestone guide - the skillcape is a milestone at level-99, but it looks like 'True mastery' yields a trimmed skillcape too? I'm rather confused if this means that that'll be the same as the standard trim or something different, but the guide seems to suggest 2 variants. Either way, good luck with the goal - the skill is pretty fun! :)
  16. Still not certain even this is valid - I prefer soloing, I haven't actually grouped yet with this (I am only Level 27 mind you) and am managing quite alright, very much enjoying the change of scenery actually! :)
  17. The dungeons seem to be semi-random based on the players of the level. I've just completed floor-13 there and I had the Skinweaver as the boss room, whereas most of the previous floors were the Bulwark. What I'm not so fond of is getting Member's based skill-doors in the F2P dungeons. I know that things are generated, but I don't think F2P players should be limited to not getting bonus rooms because they don't have Members.
  18. I encountered a room in which I believe it required a certain order - initially I thought it was certain areas of the floor couldn't be stood on or it would reset - I did avoid the centre floor spaces after that, but I do believe it was an order too. In reference to poison on Floor 12 - which monster poisoned you? I've got work to do now, but have reached floor-13 without experiencing that, would be good to know which to avoid! :P
  19. From the looks of things, they are going to add a new element to most boss-hunting areas. I'm not very clued in with the PvP area, but I'd imagine that they'll hold a big advantage their too. LIke others have said though, the fact that it requires the recharging could play an impact on their overall usefulness. It could well be that the experience later on from dungeons / certain setups of dungeon styles later on will yield much greater experience and therefore greater tokens which would make these more viable. Either way - it should be quite interesting to see how things play out!
  20. That looks quite a bit trickier than the level-22 counterpart i've been fighting the past few times! :P Heh, I know how that feels. I've stuck to predominantly ranging / maging this one - but then again, all my levels on the account i'm playing are 40 (except HP), so they're pretty well catered to switching styles. Most of the time I've found standing near the door or going to where the freezer's 'blocked' by a pillar works relatively well - preventing it from getting close to push you away.
  21. 44M experience in a skill should relate to Level 111 in a skill. There's a page with the full experience tables up to 200M here: Level - Exp Table Also shows that for Level-120 this skill requires 104,273,167 experience. That's quite a massive amount in comparison to the 13M experience required for level 99. I do wonder if Jagex is really 'upping the ante' with this and giving a little bit more incentive to others to train higher. Personally, I can't see myself aiming for that unless the experience rates are quite a bit higher at higher levels - that's quite some time required otherwise.
  22. I'd imagine so, the entire concept was initially for an MMO, I think it's fairly certain it's going to feel more like a game than a skill. - that doesn't mean it won't be enjoyable though! :)
  23. Precisely, the dungeon concept from other games was something I always loved - nice to see it implemented in RuneScape. :) Props for Rank-3 too, cool thing to see no doubt!
  24. Looking forward to this, skill sounds pretty good - rewards look interesting, haven't quite compared them to other stats of items yet but from the looks of things they should add a nice bonus to the game. Good luck to everyone training this! Enjoy it. :) Edit :- Skillcape looks interesting, quite like the Slayer one though?
  25. Wow, major props to Ren calling that - that's fantastic! :)
