I thought that was part of the burlesque thing, celebrating the sexuality/sensuality of middle aged and older people, rather than just like nubile 20-somethings. Thats part of what makes it different from just like a strip club, isn't it? I beat 2 video games (Mario Oddysey & Xenoblade Chronicles 2) this weekend, after a string of 5-10 that I got to the final boss, and then just gave up because it was too hard or boring or w/e. Idk what's up with me lol

These agencies don't have a great rep for sympathy. Or really even accuracy. Lots of people who are not, in reality, fit to work have their benefits cut, which is obviously a problem if that's your main income.

The point is, if you can find a place willing to value your portfolio over a degree, then I think you can get a job that pays what you need. Obviously, more corporate places won't be the ones to do that, but smaller, tech focused locations seem like they should care more about code quality than education quality in their new hires.

Tbh, Veiva, you seem far more skilled at CS than anyone I graduated with. It seems like you should have no troubles getting a good paying job, at least as long as you're looking at a place that values code quality and good architecture. So, maybe skip out on jobs at like insurance corporations, but tech places should value your skills.

Rent is throwing money out the window. With a mortgage payment, you are paying into owning a physical asset at the end of it. Of course there are additional costs such as property tax to consider (and maybe tax benefits, not sure), but all else being equal, you'd rather own your home after 20 years rather than renting once again for year 21, wouldn't you? While that is accurate, it does not change the financial difficulty involved in entering into home ownership. If rent is expensive for you, it's going to be particularly difficult to buy a home, vs. someone who is paying a comfortable amount of rent. And if you can't afford rent where you want to live, you definitely aren't going to be able to afford a home, even if you can somehow get the down payment together.

Seems like you wouldn't be able to get an acceptable down payment in an area with 1600 a month rent. Plus, mortgage payments are usually at least as much as rent, arent they?
