Simple question
Fish Flingers. How much XP should I be getting per game for it to be considered good?

The F2P General Discussion Thread
Spiders are decent, and because they only occupy 1 square, they tend to attack you faster after you've killed the first one. However, food is an issue there, especially if <70 defense.

That was botting/cheating, this is goldfarming

The F2P General Discussion Thread
May 23 -> June 19 (assuming xp is gained every day) totals up to 27 days. I thought the trial only lasted 1 week?

Now if it were the case of botting, I would have slightly doubted Sonic for claiming to be innocent. But this is goldfarming, and of all people, I would never expect Sonic to goldfarm. I suspect it is your region you reside from that caused this ban.. which is worrying for me and other Asia players. Are you forum banned as well?

Behind The Scenes 19: Two New Quests and Al Kharid Rework!
Hm, sounds interesting. But XP-wise, I'm more interested in the 'decent prayer xp' mentioned toward the end of the video.

Hidden Update: Bots Dying
Haven't seen that yet, Jacmob is in W1 and he just told us that 'botwatch' is a new system he developed that is making these bots explode.

Help me find a good desktop gaming computer ~ PLEASE!
Ah shit. I got my GFX card models mixed up between GTX 540 and GT 640. Sorry about that.\ Anyway 3rd Generation Intel Core i5 3450, get a 3450K if you can 8 GB dual channel DDR3 1600 MHz - Kingston's HyperX series sells these pretty decent NVIDIA Ge Force 640 1 GB GDDR5 is a good choice. 7770 would be better fit for gaming, but I just don't feel like the extra $100 is worth it since the actual price difference is more of $30-40. But since you do not play any games where the GT 640 and the 7700 would make a difference, save the cash unless you might think otherwise.

When Jagex works on Stellar Dawn/Transformers MMO/othergames: People: "Based on what Jagex is doing lately, looks like they might stop RuneScape development soon."; "Jagex should fix their own game first before working on others, ffs."; "[bleep]ing do something about bots, Jamajcbelex!2211" When Jagex creates fun content which allows players to witness the scale of bannings that actually happen that players were never able to see before, to clear our blind hatred towards their stance on botting: People: "asdfghjkl, just make worldwide announcements."; "This shit is pointless."; "<insert previous 4 pages of critics>" EDIT: While I'm not a Jagex-fanboy (points to sig), I certainly don't want to be against every update just because they're not quests/skill reworks/game engine updates. Some good fun is a good break for the grindfest this game is made out of.

Is RS down atm?
Well it might've been earlier today, since some of the threads were made anywhere from 40-12 hours ago, and might be something on my end right now, just want some reconfirmation at this time.

Is RS down atm?
I always hate threads like this, and is usually the problem with the user, but I've checked multiple fansites prior posting this, and it seems that the RS site, and game is unaccessible by some players right now. Am I really the only one experiencing this?

Help me find a good desktop gaming computer ~ PLEASE!
Well not low, that build is pretty standard and I imagine might (I stress might) support up to the highest settings for most FPS/RPG games (TF2, COD, Skyrim) but not at max performance. But it should support standard graphics pretty well. I'm running on the exact build except I'm using a GeForce 650-TI because I tested out a 640 and wasn't really satisfied with it. And I run almost every game on max settings without any problems (Except for RuneScape where I'd get 30fps at some areas, and max elsewhere, but you know how RuneScape sucks.) And s/he's only getting 1 GFX card, so no SLI'ing.

If you can, try forking out a little bit more to get a GeForce 650-TI. It might save you two years or so before you have to upgrade again.

This is a very good, almost perfect, suggestion. Though if you want to cut down on costs (even more, but what he suggested is perfect for a mediocre budget), you can get a cheaper casing as usually it doesn't really matter as much as the internal hardware. And depending on the type of games and amount of games you play, a 2TB HDD might be slightly too much. At least, by my standards. So if you REALLY need to cut down, get a 1TB, it'll be sufficient. If you have extra change to spare, get a 120GB SSD with ~500 read and ~500 write, you'll definitely notice a difference. :) Costs anywhere between $150-200 though, haven't been keeping up on prices.

The reason why people are saying it doesn't work is because they only look at the bots who have not got banned, while they have never actually seen the proportion of bots who actually get banned because of said implementations. This update will let us see exactly WHAT Jagex can do and how many bans ACTUALLY happen, and as a game, putting some fun for the players instead of news post "We have implemented a new anti-bot system into the game. Expect less bots.", this is a win-win situation for me. It's not saying it will access your microphones and webcams, but rather just saying that it can have unauthorized access to your computer if that's what's required by the applet.

Not my picture, it was from another fan site: I suppose the certificate update earlier yesterday was to detect botting softwares on your computer. Not sure what this means for AHK users, myself included, but I would say we would be pretty safe. What is the HLF community saying about this?

Please, sign up for Jagex.

Probably nothing. Seeing how weak their bot detection systems are, I would imagine they are actually very careful about legitimate players being banned.

While it will cut down on the cases, most people on here are disappointed because this isn't the best security measure to implement (e.g. two step is a lot more foolproof). Also, I haven't heard of anybody losing their RS account because of a big forum hack yet in Runescape. Then you must be clearly inactive during the time when Tip.It, Zybez, Runehead, Draynor, RuneHQ were all hacked and/or defaced.

[hide=Discussion] It's not just about what's stored in your cookie cutter profile. It's about the things you've posted *somewhere* at *some point* on your Facebook wall. Somewhere, at some point, maybe your mom commented on a photo saying, "Oh wow, that reminds me of the time I met my husband in Prague!" Or if someone can find you, they can probably find your family quite easily. They can scan through them, figure out who your cousins are, and then note down the ages until they find the oldest. This isn't the case with all people, obviously. But for many, it is. There are a lot of people who don't have "Private" Facebook accounts. There are a lot of people who blindly accept every friend request. There are a lot of people who don't think about what they're saying online, or what their family is saying. There are a lot of people who have their recovery answers out there for the world to see, and dont' even realize it. Which is why my IRL Facebook account and my Runescape FB account don't mix. Not that I'd post "real" answers anyways. If you want to use Facebook with your Runescape account, why not simply set up a dummy Facebook account for your Runescape character? I'm not talking about people who use Facebook for RuneScape things. I just mean people wanting to hack your RuneScape account but they need answers to your recovery questions. So they do a lot of research to find your REAL Facebook account. This 'research' can include googling, figuring out your e-mail address, finding out what school you went to, finding that school's Facebook page and then finding people in connection with that school and picking you out of it. And then stalking your Facebook page to farm it for information. People get DOXed all the time. That's one of the biggest ways people steal RuneScape accounts. A large part of that process is just doing online research to farm personal information, and part of that often leads back to Facebook, other social media sites, other online profiles, or any articles that may have included you that can now be found online. It doesn't matter if you 'officially' link those accounts to RuneScape or not. People are still capable of finding them. Of course it helps a lot if you use the same username, e-mail address, avatar, etc. But a lot of people do. I mean, I personally don't use real answers for my recoveries, but I think it's safe to assume that most people in the RuneScape population do. And that leaves them vulnerable. [/hide] Yes, but they need your password first, AND THEN access your e-mail account before they can even get to those questions Either way I'm just stating that this implementation is a very smart move by Jagex and several other companies (e.g Steam owner, Valve) and definitely will cut down the hacking cases of a lot of active accounts. Of course, while it isn't foolproof (as you've proved me) it's still an excellent preventive measure in the case big forums get hacked into again. Yeah good recoveries involve answers like: Where did your parents meet? Salty69verizon101elephant4frogs23 How do you know what question goes to what answer without leaving it down somewhere?

1. Are your parent's middle names, your oldest cousin's name, the place where your parents meet really on FaceBook? Because I've never seen things like that on FaceBook before. 2. Can any of you even get hold of my FaceBook profile? I don't see the big issue here. :?
