  1. I can only speak for my class, warrior. Good PVP set: Marshal to field marshal. What is it but grind to get this "good gear" with your guild, PVP arena battle after another? Good... Other set? Dreadnaught or if you're willing to settle for less, wrath (tier 2) set.
  2. A maximum of 10 grams of creatine per training session could be recommended; However only if you insist on using it. It is not a *necessary* suppliment and you can not really eat too much of it. The necessary, about 10 grams, will be used by your body and when you urinate or sweat the rest will just go away as useless from your system, and a part will be stored in your muscles. It is said to boost your energy and the speed at which your muscle mass builds up at, but I've never really used it. I'm fairly sure there is evidence about it's efficiency but it is so marginal I'd rather not spend a fortune on the pills... Creatine monohydrate powders/pills are the most common you will see in shops. They are waterbound creatine molecules and while I can't tell you for sure you will get muscle mass 50% faster or anything I can guarantee it wont hurt you (your wallet is another story). :)
  3. You either lose weight in general or you don't lose it at all. :) You can't have a super-tight muscular left bicep and the rest of your body sagging with fat, that's the best example I can come up with. And you're right, neither can you have an ultra-tight sixpack with the rest of your body lard. Arguably Liposuction could make this possible, but let's not get into that... Genetics do play a big part and some people DO remain at constant overweight but it is a very small minority and usually it is medically treatable. Your genes will also determine your metabolism and some people have the gift of good metabolism which helps tremendously *especially* if you're just starting to get in shape and want to add mass. 30-60 minutes of cardio daily or bi-daily, (jogging, fast walking, etc), and in a few months you will be able to see real results. For me it took about less than half a year to burn off the 'cover layer' off my abs so don't get emotional if you don't see results within two days. You will also burn off unnecessary fat from all over your body.
  4. Currently there is a big lack of anything related to this on the off topic forum. Feel free to discuss anything and ask for advice and experiences from other users. 8-) Some basic knowledge: [*:2arh0xv3]For muscle gain, at least 1 gram of protein per every pound (200lbs=200 grams of protein), for Europeans & others, just calculate your weight * 2. [*:2arh0xv3]During bench press, remember = Shoulder blades should be pinched together. You don't want to add all the work to your frontal shoulders (or deltoids). If possible, always have at least 1 spotter. [*:2arh0xv3]If your doctor says you are still growing or you are under the age of 14, you probably should not start yet. It could stun your growth. [*:2arh0xv3]Even if you are trying to get a sixpack or lose weight, you can NOT leave fat out of your diet. Try to remember this. [*:2arh0xv3]You only lose weight if you consume more calories than you take in. 3600 calories= 1 pound (or approximately 0.5kg). You can easily find out on product labels how many calories it contains. [*:2arh0xv3]Best step to start with is leaving out soda, pizza, hamburgers, fries, candy, chocolate. To keep yourself mentally sane, though, allow yourself some of these at least once or twice a month [*:2arh0xv3]Carbohydrates. Most people just don't understand it is just as important if not more important than protein. Suggested intake is 50/50 though many professionals would suggest even 60% carb and 40% protein for recovery and growth [*:2arh0xv3]The old truth: Gain happens ONLY when you are asleep. Don't torment yourself by going to the gym and sleeping 3 hours a day, wondering why no advance is taking place. [*:2arh0xv3]Rest days. Go to the gym 3 to 4 days weekly at maximum, with 1 rest day between sessions. Don't frustrate yourself by spending hours at the gym every day for 7 days a week, trust me. Your muscles can't take it without recovering. -------------------- Some results. :) Bench press- about 315lbs (145kg), with shirt+belt 330lbs (152kg) [2 reps] Deadlift- 295lbs (135.5kg) And no, I don't look like a monster. Actually tons of guys at the gym can do a lot better than that and they look fairly normal, no steroids involved.. :shame:
  5. Define a rare item? Obviously, if you want the Bindings of the Windseeker chances are you'll never see them, but class specific items are quite common. I mean, Molten Core has what, how many bosses? 10? Random drops aside, we're talking like 30 epics a run, to a 40 a man raid. Yeah, if you want a specific item expect to haul around for quite a while, but if you're willing to settle for general upgrades compared to non-raiding gear, they're to be had a plenty (Obviously not taking weird DKP system or the possibility that the God of Statistics hate your wagon - may I never, ever, EVER see another pair of stupid Judgement Gauntlets) Now that you mention it, especially Hand of Ragnaros comes to my mind. You need what, 200 arcanite bars just to produce the first stage of the weapon spell? Along with tons of other items, including killing Ragnaros. Getting the bars alone is going to be a pain in your butt, no matter if you buy or mine them (the first option being more likely). The price per arcanite bar was about 100g when I played but I don't even want to think about the current price should it have risen. Yeah, that's what I was talking about. But you're right about the otherwise large quantity of epic items in instances like MC, I was just focusing on getting the best equip though... (And as blizzard updates the content, even Legendary or Artefact items which I expect only a few people will have) Far Cry is really an exception for a company that has most of it's array consisting of sport license games and movie-based borefests, I must once again disagree since EA is really one of the biggest gaming companies (though, as I said, they have been improving lately like the example you mentioned, buying rights to a good sequel) Let's think, Rockstar games. They started out as a de facto gaming mudhut. Still their games became enormously popular and beat sales records. Blizzard entertainment (the very mastermind behind WoW) did not start on a big bed of money to fall on. Only after the initial huge success of the Diablo, Starcraft and WC series did they start developing such a grand project as World of Warcraft, and even before that, not being a huge gaming house, were a giant success. Microsoft, I think this one is pretty self-explanatory. Microsoft Gaming Studios have produced so many (commercial) flops it is beyond belief. The best example would be the game "Grabbed by the Ghoulies", which still remains a title not known by many gamers. Microsoft had paid $377 million dollars to acquire Rare gaming corporation and release the game under the Microsoft banner, and eventually the game became one of the worst selling games in history. (more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grabbed_by_the_Ghoulies )
  6. Noone owns land on this Earth, either, but we still sell it. But yea, you can't buy land on the moon. :Edit: Oh, and the local minister in my town has a wife and like, 7 kids. Pwned. True, and just because you occupy a piece of land by force (i.e. army, in any given period of history), doesn't mean you "own" it. You just occupy it at the moment.. As for the ministry site, not sure if it's legitimate or not. But it certainly can't be a "scam" since nothing there costs anything, and they actually put up some prayers and other stuff, so they seem like good guys. No idea about the legality though..
  7. I don't really have anything else to add to that. On a side note, I find it extremely easy to distinguish people from Japan and China, and especially distinguishing between Korean, Japanese and Chinese letters. When you get used to them, it's easy to tell which one is which. :) European and middle-eastern persons on the other hand are a challenge if you try to guess where they are from. In fact, it is almost impossible since some Europeans are the same ethnicity as people from another country, just with different national borders (example: Belarussians and Russians, or Slovenian and Croatian, or French/Belgian)
  8. Actually, the most common scam is the "Nigerian Royalty" 401 scam, and people actually lose hundreds of millions annually to these. Yours was different, possibly just fishing for ID. Earlier, scammers would not hesitate to ask a $3000 "bribe" to the country's "officials" in order to process the "$17,500,000" payment to your bank account. And sadly, tons of people have fell for it.. It is also worthy of note that some people have actually counter-scammed these people, in the best cases gaining hundreds of dollars from them by stories like "The money is sitting in my church's bank account but I need $100 to activate the account". Mostly people just donate it to a charity though since it is likely that money is ill-gained.
  9. I'll list the things you said that I think are a murder for a just truth: 1. How large a company is, is irrelevant. Many large corporations make totally buggy and crappy games (a good example would be EA Games, though they've improved as of late) 2. In practice it can be even annoying and the server will lag when there is an overlarge community. It doesn't make it even technically better because all players don't play on the same realm. 3. True, but it doesn't really add anything to the gameplay other than 'coolness' 4. This one I disagree the most with. Especially after hitting level 60, the game is all about grinding dungeons for finding good items. Most of the time you will spend even 20 raids (countless and countless hours) just to get 1 rare item, and it goes to the person on the top of the raid list. You're on the bottom with 27 other people. Have fun getting the WHOLE set of 8 pieces... And remaining mentally sane. But, for the other points.. Unless things have dramatically changed since I quit, changing realms costs nothing (but your character will not remain- except in very special circumstances if announced earlier) "Lame" is probably the best word that would fit 'Everquest', in my opinion. The amount of grinding is really unbelieveable and if you even think that as a new character you can get all the top gear, GOOD LUCK is what you need.. No, supernatural... Quote of the day 8-)
  10. Exactly. This event will be a milestone in a process. When today's efforts are written in the history books, I think that 9/11 will be what people say was a catalyst for the process that broke down the proverbial "wall" of oppression in the Middle East. Think about how long it took after WW2 for the Berlin Wall to come down and how much time, effort and sacrifice it took to get that accomplished. The idea of enabling the Middle East to achieve democracy is not a new concept. The process of gaining enough footing/motivation to go over there to do something about it began long ago. Now that the democracy is emerging in the Middle East all members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) will have to stay the course until it's done. Our generation may not get to see the "wall" come down, but the emergence of democracy over there and a more unified world will evolve in our lifetime at the least. I think that the fall of the twin towers will eventually be memorialized as the catalyst for the fall of Middle Eastern oppression and terrorism. The deaths of the victims of 9/11 and the War on Terror will not be in vain. Did you know that Iraq was once a democratic country? How about Iran? Know why they aren't democratic countries any longer? Iraq has never been a democratic country, unless we talk about ancient history, and even then no greek-style populistic government has ever existed there. Since the former president Rahman Arif was overthrown by the Baath Party in the 1960's, the country became practically a one-party dictatorship. In 1979, Saddam Hussein became the sole ruler and dictator of the country. Before that, by a League of Nations mandate the area was granted to the United Kingdom before the second world war. Iran? Since the second world war, the shah (or king) Mohammed Pahlavi was installed on the throne by the CIA and the pressure of the United Kingdom and USSR in hopes of a more cooperative ruler especially in terms of oil dealing. He was in no means democratic, he is one of the personifications of autocracy. You haven't heard about the Black Friday in Iran, the military on the orders of Pahlavi killed over 300 protesters? Before that, Iran has never been even a historic democracy. It is now still an islamic republic created in the 1979 by the Ayatollah Khomeini who is the spiritual leader, in fact a higher position than president Ahmadinejad. I would like you to back up your claims or not present them at all.
  11. Using a standard pen-and-paper ACE matrix test, 128. There are 2 ways to measure the score, the Cattell method and some other I forgot (the one giving you lower and the other higher points). A real IQ test purely analyses your mathematical skills and hence may not be comprehensive, i.e. not catering to all areas of intelligence. Using the cattell method of calculating score, you need about 144 to enter Mensa. And that's about all you can do with the score, other than boast... 8-) If you get over 171, you are considered a genius by most testing standards. Often, I just get about 60 though, because I'm so tired of all the online tests that I randomly choose from any of the options. With this method, I actually once got 104 IQ... Not very accurate, considering somebody doing the test honestly could get a lower score.

 And isn't he the wealthiest man in Springfield? 8-) Not to mention he has some pretty weird desires...
  13. Yeah, the idea it's self could work for a small group of people, but for an entire nation it's a challanging task. Especially when the general manager of a shoe factory gets the same wage as a farmer who might slack off all day and let other's do all the work; Both still get food and are kept alive by the society. It isn't hard to see which of the two will soon get * off and start demanding more benefits to himself as a reward for his more demanding work. Most humans do NOT want to live just for the sake of living no matter how beautiful it is as an ideal. Most people are materialists and want to get advanced benefits, gadgets, wealth and social status.
  14. I can't stress enough to other people how much more interesting their lives would be if they understood the above phrase... Instead of having everything spoonfed to you, going to school, getting a job, retiring and having a nice marble grave, there CAN be something else if you have the will.
  15. Interesting, how does that help? I have clicked if that makes a difference. Do sponsors pay for every click on it? It doesn't seem very good for the sponsors if everyone were to click it... Yep, it comes from sponsors. And believe me, some of them have pretty deep pockets and get good publicity for advertising on the site. Every click funds about 1 staple of rice. :)
  16. I can't believe anybody would insult this. It's true. If you are educated enough to be able to write and read, you have a computer, you have an internet connection and you are posting on this thread, you should feel blessed. You are an absolute minority in the world if you have an internet connection at home. And yes, the wealth distribution in the world is absolutely * up. While sometimes your life can feel like crap, seriously remember those people that spend less than $400 a year on living. That's how much you'd spend on a new gaming console. If you are immature enough to think "they deserve it" I feel sorry for you. Nobody really deserves to live a life of extreme poverty, you don't have a choice where you are born. While you can't alone fix everything, you can help a little. One of the easiest ways: http://www.thehungersite.com/ Just visit the site daily and click the button. It's so easy and it works, while it doesn't cost you anything than a few seconds of your time. :) If you're determined, there's ALWAYS something you can do to help. I naturally feel obliged to help those people who were unfortunate with their birth country, because I feel genuinely sorry for them. "We can do nothing". It's not true. If every western person contributed $3 from their every paycheck, (about 800 million westerners in the world) it equals $2.1 billion dollars every month, and it doesn't affect our lifestyle in any way. Tell me, how such an action would not help? While nobody collects your money, you can always volunteer to contribute some. It's one of the many ways to help.

I loathe religion interfearing with politics. im not against religion its self though I too am strongly against mixing politics with religion, but he was probably referring to the detail that George W.Bush (like many other former presidents) was a member of the "secret" Skull & Bones society at Yale university. There is no proof but it has been rumored they do some pretty sick stuff which I wont discuss here, but there's plenty of information around. One of the milder examples: And to think, how little we probably know of all the stuff the world's most powerful politician/s might have done before they got into power, and what they are influenced by...
  18. Stretching and moving your arms around is a great way to get rid of any triceps pains you may have. 8-) (May be especially usual if you're like me and go to the gym regularly). Nothing can beat the feeling of relief when you stretch your arms and hear a [positive] crackling sound in your triceps and the pain is reduced... If the pain is unbearable, go see a doctor for further plans.
  19. Nope, but just because you have a good point, it doesn't mean your text is bearable (not talking particularly about you but everybody else too). Even if you could prove Einstein's e=mc2 wrong, without a coherent body of text, it looks like a pile of trash. The same applies to text. No, of course I don't 'insult' or look down upon people who simply can't spell. Many of my good friends have horrible spelling. But correct wording and avoiding unnecessary mistakes IS needed if you seriously want to say something you want others to comment and add to. Nothing really wrong there, and English is actually my third language. :)
  20. I'm sure there are better examples than this, but at the Monoco Grand Prix Shumacher had pole, but Alonso (I think) was doing a very fast lap which could have given him pole. So Schumacher's car "broke down" (he spun out and blocked the entire road, Monoco is a narrow course) which brought out the safety car and secured his pole. Everyone condemned it though as cheating. That and in several times when Barrichello gave him his position, and the victory, or blocked other car's passage. This one race where he did that, absolutly disgusting. With about 200yard to go Barrichello slows down to let Shumacher go past and win the race. I don't know how closely you follow the events, but in 99% of cases like these, the order comes from the management of Ferrari/McLaren/Sauber/etc, it's nearly never a spontaneous decision by the driver. They might do it for a variety of reasons: 1. Ensuring the championship of the other driver 2. Ensuring the maximum amount of manufacturer points 3. If there is a new driver, ensuring his victory increases clout and credibility of the manufacturer

A more accurate word would be "sect", but from a factual viewpoint you are correct. Christianity as we know it today separated from judaism, radically disagreeing with some of it's key points and also (at least partially) disputing the status of the Old Testament scriptures.
  22. That's one of the details that kept me pissed off immensely when I played WoW. You can look to the right and hit a monster on your left side (the sprite literally hits air and the monster loses some of his health), which takes a lot away from the combat atmosphere. It's coded so that it doesn't matter where you face but how close you are to the enemy. One good thing is that if you start casting a spell but the other player runs behind you, he can actually dodge it because the spell wont hit. Armor and weapon IMO are excellently animated and drawn though, just the kind of stuff any online game needs. Especially the best items and grand-marshal/high warlord level equipment & weapons look awesome (though chances are slim that an average WoW player will ever gain enough honor points to access rank 14 items)

What is a "true" religion? There isn't such a thing. It doesn't matter how many followers you have or how many golden arches and statues you built to your God; It doesn't make it any more credible (other than to the eyes of a medieval peasant who is amazed by all the shiny stuff). Anyways, the so-called "cults" are in my opinion very often insane and make even less sense than a "religion". Often, in cults a big emphasis is based on worshipping the 'boss' of the religion, who very often is not the rebirth of a klingon emperor; Instead he is just another opportunist taking money from gullible people and in many cases even committing crimes (but not always). Then there is the center of 'cults', which often revolve around some mystical event that supposedly happened or will happen. Some of these are so ridiculous that you must feel sorry for the desperate followers. Example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavens_Gate_(cult) Sounds like an episode of south park to me, but some poor souls actually committed suicide for their beliefs. :? Religions can and sometimes are dangerous, but so are cults in the modern world for the people who unwillingly might have an unstable mind.
  24. When I first started out WoW shortly after it was released, with some gameplay tips from my gaming friends I got to level 60 in 20 days on a human warrior which is far less than a month. I was on a vacation so I did play more than usual but not 24 hours a day. Anyway, that being said I have spent far more time on runescape and I must say WoW is definitely a better, more sophisticated and fun game. The two don't just compare, though RS gets a big plus for being so easily accessible. If you haven't played other MMORPG's, give it a try. You'll see RS is actually quite unprofessionally made, and in my opinion starting out in RS2 as a new character is less fun than RS classic when it came out. But the most important thing is to have fun 8-) P.S. I haven't played WoW for ages now. It has become an item-grind contest at the high levels and there are ridiculous 'clan pyramids' for obtaining good tier 2 items. If you want to have fun, go play Guild Wars. WoW at the high levels is not fun if you want to be the best; it is fun only if you want to hang out with your friends and slay a few bosses with them etc. In the end, even Nadril will notice the vainness of excessive online gaming... :P
