  1. Back when in runescape the Rune Battle Axe was only smithable by the smith Bluerose13x, there were literally only about 40 in the whole game when she first hit level 95 smithing. I was coming out from the brand-new wilderness, and I saw some guy drop trading a rune long sword behind the varrock church. I clicked on the item and when I eventually arrived, there was nothing on the ground but the guy was still standing there. I clicked on the ground like heck and a rune battle axe+ square shield showed up, I only got the battle axe. I couldn't express my joy in words. ---- Now, that might be just a lame RS story, but if you could understand the awesomeness and power of a rune battle axe on that day, you'd get it. 8-) It was simply inaccessible to most of the thousands of players since she (Bluerose) would only smith it for her friends. And no, I wasn't a righteous jerk and I didn't return the axe. He broke the rules... :P
  2. It all depends on the trustworthiness and reputation of the seller. Many people succesfully bought accounts and never got caught, though Jagex prohibits it. And yes there are people who will pay thousands to get RS accounts, just like there are people who would pay $5,000 for an everquest weapon. I don't see how Jagex loses out since they're not out of any money.
  3. Where you read Raikkonen and Montoya, please understand Massa and Alonso. Thank you. Right, Alonso is what I meant. But not Massa... Thanks 8-)
  4. Google search + http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Blaine
  5. Err.. I did some research on this, and it seems David Blaine spent 44 days without food in a transparent box. :? That's simply astonishing and no matter what his motives, I had previously thought that even 18 days is impossible. But wow... At least I guess he HAD to *drink* something?!
  6. Without regard to any conspiracy theories, the 'truth' or government involvement in it, rest in peace. It doesn't matter how you spin it, those 3000 dead people are still dead. They died for no reason at all other than hate, revenge or (possibly) governmental motives, and there were children among them. No matter who did it, it must be condemned. What it should not be used for is politicizing and using it as a justification for further crimes against innocent human lives elsewhere in the world.
  7. Many people don't eat for a certain period of time to cleanse their mind spiritually, and it is often highly effective since if you just forget about your eating desires, it IS possible not to feel hungry; briefly. Also in the islamic religion during Ramadan (their holiday when they get presents etc), muslims would not eat during the time between the sunrise and sunset. Another thing it could do to you is making you very angry. :) 48 hours IMO is a needlessly long pursuit. Of course it can be done. And no, most likely you wont suffer any permanent damage from it. But it goes beyond the good taste of restraining from eating, but if you can really do it, it is a great way to improve your self-disclipine.
  8. Yep, the guy was amazing... In fact if you don't count the current & improved Montoya, Mika Hakkinen was the only serious opponent of Schumacher, and did snatch victory and world championships from him but he retired too. The other drivers are too mediocre for Schumacher. :) Next season, I bet it will be all about Raikkonen and Montoya since they are the only 'awesome' drivers left. But surprises do happen...
  9. Steak with honey seasoning sounds somehow, no matter how perversely, tasty. Thanks for the idea. 8-)
  10. I can hardly see why professional swimmers for example would have to shave all of their body hair to improve swimming speed, the reduction in speed is probably so ridiculously low that I doubt the efficiency of it. It's not like the parts of a formula 1 car where aerodynamics and removing a few grams of weight can mean the difference between winning and losing by 0.001 of a second. Back when I was in school, I was often picked from my grade to run in competitions. I'd wear a hoodie and jeans and still win the anorectic guys with a tight-body tracksuit. If anything, swimmers for example should be obligated to keep the hair on their HEADS minimal. Think of some female swimmers with their long hair under those swimming caps, it still weighs probably some 200 grams..
  11. GameGuard is awesome, what's wrong with you? When I downloaded and installed Silkroad I just got an error when I tried to connect. Then the client just closed. Oh thats their way of telling you that the world is full. They close down the game. Quite frustrating. So much so that everytime i think i might give it a try again, the worlds are so crowded that i remove it from my computer. The game is alright, but unless you have Korean blood, you won't hack the grind. Haha, that's so true and not true at the same time. I have some korean friends, and they're not entirely "in" the grinding scene of online games though they level fast, but almost ALL of the good MMORPG players come from (South) Korea. They simply don't get bored for whatever reason. Nothing wrong with GameGuard or Nprotect in my opinion, if I remember correctly Lineage II uses nprotect too. Dunno about the game, I can't judge it by hearsay (few of my friends told me it's laggy like no other), but if you're a casual player... It has good 3D graphic scenery, active admins, many players, and it's 100% free... Perks of the internet age? I'd give it a shot if I had time, many MMORPG's today don't cost anything to play. :)
  12. I agree with you to some extent. There are some thoughts that can be explained as deja vu. I'm not sure of the name, but there is also psychological condition where people intentionally look for patterns in everyday objects. However there is also substantial evidence of telepathy and precognition among humans and animals. Where subjects were able to perform this time and time again under scientific conditions. I'm not saying you're wrong however. I on the other hand must disagree with the argument of evident telepathy or precognition. It is strongly regarded as pseudoscience by the majority of serious scholars and scientists and human subjects have not been proven to perform telepathy under scientific conditions. You might want to read more about it. I am very interested in it but from a factual viewpoint it does not exist (or can't be yet proven to exist) http://www.dina.kvl.dk/~abraham/psy1.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telepathy http://www.sciencenews.org/pages/sn_arc ... 9/fob4.htm
  13. Ultimately, ending as much sorrow and unnecessary poverty as humanly possible by 1 person. I know that the most effective way to do that is to start projects and foundations, build schools, and for that you need to gather money (a lot of it), and I'm already working on that. Getting good at some things in life such as drifting, exploring and traveling the world, but they are really secondary... I find living only for yourself *extremely* selfish, but then again people have many views on it. That's just what I think. There are lots of good things in life, but I think giving hope to a hopeless person is the best thing
  14. For the life of me I can't find a link to the possibility theory related to this topic on wikipedia or anywhere else, but I think I can explain it without one too... During the day, you literally think about tens of thousands of things, both unconscious and conscious. Your brain gets a lot of stimuli by viewing TV, reading newspapers, etc. and occassionally the thing you're just thinking about will very likely show up on the news, a TV series etc. But yeah, I bet it happens to a lot of people. It happens to me all the time. I'd read about a strange word I've never heard of in my life in an old dusty book I found in my bookcase, and a day later the word would show up in a newspaper. But I strongly think there's nothing 'supernatural' attached to it necessarily... It's all about possibilities.
  15. Wow- If you exclude the economical and tax inaccuracies (or ninjas..), your country is strikingly similar to the current People's Republic of China. Just compare the descriptions people, you'll be amazed... I played this game years ago when it was released, but sadly, nations expire if you don't log into them for a long time, I lost mine...
  16. I agree with that, if it was for a good cause with a chance to succeed after my death, I'd volunteer to give my life for it. But dying for my own beliefs, no. To save another innocent human, yes. Err... I don't remember posting on this thread before but it seems I did, 2 years ago. My views haven't changed since then. I believe nobody has the right to kill an innocent child, if somebody wants to do it, I'll sacrifice my life giving him a lesson if necessary and protecting the innocent human (modern terrorists are a good example no matter what their ideology; They are targetting innocent civilians) Think how many people died defending communism. Think what has become of communism today, were those lives spent well? Maybe it changed the world, but the belief of a supreme government form called 'communism' did not fill the world. That's just one sad example.
  17. He certainly made better music than the majority of people who "sing" a bunch of words to a "fast" beat. I'm not a big fan of rap but I admire him as a rap artist because he didn't just talk about big cars, money, drugs and "ho's". Many of his songs have an anti-violence theme, aggressive anti-racism themes and he was not really a boasting type of guy (except towards some of his rivals like Notorious B.I.G.), I can clearly see why his lyrics are even studied at musical schools. Heck, from what I read in a magazine, he landed roles in his school's Shakespeare and Nutcracker plays. Not your typical 'cool gangsta'? I bet..
  18. Funny how panicking people miss the most important post on the thread. Ever since years ago when this ambition to make a 'new game' was announced, there has been empasis that it will NOT be a medieval-type game, based in the future instead, hence it would be impossible for you to lose your stats (or convert them into the game, for that matter). You attack skill won't convert to 'laser shooting' skill, you'll have to work for it from scratch. 8-)
  19. Ah thanks for the explanation, I've learned something useful on TIF today. Also, the peace-sign known from the hippies actually is the rune of death from Germanic tribes : And don't pat a child on the hat in Indonesia, it's very denigrating apparently... Yep, also in Japan. 8-) So if you stay there, don't think it's "cute" to do that to anybody (though, people under the age of 30 are usually more understanding towards western cultural habits). Aryan ancestry? But yes, the nazi party was seriously obsessed with ancient mythology, runes, whatnot... I can safely say politics can get quite distorted when you combine reality with old viking runes... I must admit though, my opinion on the street would be at first biased, because I have VERY rarely if at all seen the swastika being used in a good fashion. Now that I think of it, I can't recall an occassion (maybe once when the hare krishna were having their yearly celebration on the streets). But you can't condemn people who sincerely hold it as a part of their religion :?
  20. Do you think the nazis thought they were bad? Do you think the medieval christian crusaders and inquisitors, or the soldiers of the islamic crescent fighting Jihad thought of themselves as bad? Their symbols are still used in the modern world even though their symbol has at various times represented slaughter, rape, blood and injustice. I have totally no idea what you mean by "looking on the macroscopic level". Sounds like pseudoscience to me; You might want to view the word's real meaning at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macroscopic. The swastika in the modern world is known by a huge amount of people (mostly hindus) still as a positive symbol, no matter how much we condemn it.
  21. Probably american football, as it is very much harder to get into the NFL than in any of the European major football leagues (since statistically there are much more soccer players in Europe than there are football players in the USA). Not only is there more competition since there is just one significant league, but american football is also much more physical and like mentioned before if you weren't born with the "god given gifts" in physique, chances are slim you can advance to that level. I'd have to agree about the guitar part. :( I don't want to crush your dreams either, but in this field, you have to be a natural talent. Not 'Backstreet boys talent', I'm talking "mozart" talent here if you want to be succesful around your age of 14-16. I've played the guitar for ages (acoustic and electric) and I can't possibly hope to make a living out of it. But if you put ALL of your effort into it, you could advance...
  22. Is it around the same price? If so, do you have the url? Wicked Lasers can light cigarettes, at least the expensive ones can. Yep, that site is the 'standard' for quality lasers (outside of military use) and their lasers are often cited on the news and used in movies and TV series. Also while you mention it, there isn't really a 'cheap' option - unfortunately. (Though expensiveness can be relative, but I think I'm talking for the majority of the users here when I say $3,500 as a starting price is quite high)
  23. Spyware can and has made people literally millionaires. In 99% of the cases this is illegal, I can suggest you to research what spyware really does but I can't suggest anybody to try it for making a quick buck. :( You can get in trouble for distributing unsolicited spyware. What spyware does is that it for example loads a banner or text ad every time you write something related to.. Well, anything in your browser. Write "car", you get tons of ads related to "Buy your car insurance now!". Sounds cheesy, no? But when millions of people are shown these ads daily and some even buy the products, they don't know how to remove the spyware, the guy upkeeping the affiliate advertisements rakes in cash.
  24. Most educated people know this; The swastika has been used as a positive symbol for thousands of years originating in the Indian steppes and it's early culture. However today the symbol is even forbidden in some countries such as Germany due to the atrocities of the national socialists of last century (nazi), and it is seen as filthy and disgusting. So while it is your prompt right to excercise your religion as you see fit, don't expect every person to know the true story behind the now-plagued symbol. :(
  25. I'd have to agree with Merc on that one. Really, if you're smart, don't let these companies make money off you by exploiting the "Jesus brand". It costs them a fraction of ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã1 to produce it; It's the 'text' you're paying for. Even if you have just a bit of cash, you can make a small difference, like buying a fair trade product instead of your usual choice and make sure the box of cereals you're consuming wasn't produced by 8 year old children who don't recieve a salary and work 16 hours a day..
