Once again, it's not a be all and end all - but it is useful as a general background. Age does matter. It's as simple as that. For example, from time to time moderators have to deal with removing pornography - we aren't going to make a ten year old a moderator precisely because of something like that. The problem is that it shouldn't be used as a general background. It doesn't provide nearly enough information, and the information it does describe is often warped and doesn't display the full picture. I don't understand how you can see with using Runescape stats as a way of measuring a player's activity and then, via that, measuring whether they will be a good moderator or not as an effective way of deciding who becomes a moderator, if you're going down that route, you might as well enforce stat requirements to become a moderator. If age does matter because of issues like pornography, why don't you just have an age requirement? If you're never going to make a ten year old a moderator for precisely that reason, I can't see any reason not to have a blanket requirement for all moderators, age-wise.

Forum name/profile helps us in posting their application for others to read/assess. Regarding age and RS Stats, age gives us a potential bearing on the maturity of someone, and the RS stats let us know if the person plays RS/is knowledgeable in RS (afterall this is a RS forum!). I was under the impression tip.it was above resorting to using stereotyping in order to decide the future of their forums. <_< When we're looking for active runescape playing moderators, it's only reasonable for us to ask to see your runescape stats. As for age; we try not to discriminate, but it is often a factor in maturity. We have had(and have now) extremely young staff members who've been excellent. It's not necessarily a roadblock. Being an active player doesn't neccesarily mean having high stats, I have friends who have been playing actively for years and yet have very low stats because they prefer to spend time with friends or play activities that don't give very high experience per hour. Using hiscores as a way of determining a player's activity is a ridiculous idea, that's like using combat level to determine whether someone is good at Dungeoneering or not, something which almost every self-respecting group stopped doing within the first few weeks. Regarding age, if you have extremely young staff members who are excellent, why should their age matter? As you've said yourself, it's not always a factor and therefore shouldn't even be considered when judging someone's maturity. If you can tell that someone is mature enough to be a moderator based on their posts and how they act, surely age is irrelevant?

Well, i hope we get to team up then; Because in a void team this will be the difference between you tanking and me tanking. And i would argue that i can out-dps anyone that has to eat every 3'rd attack. If im in a non-void team, I would look at our shields: If there was a few Divine/Elysians i would take the archers (i) ring, because i wouldnt get to tank with my Eek/Spectral (which are also better at nex because no dmg is better than reduced dmg.. but lets not go there). If there is one thing that this thread has established, it is that the onyx (i) is a niche-ring: Its niche isn't "Nex teams", but almost every "Void, Nex teams".. (example:) Especially if you are the only 1 with an ACP insted of Pbody, where the onyx (i)'s magic defence will make the difference. Are you one of those people (in dungeoneering) that afk in base, make armour, and hoard food? Same principle. Not really, afking and skilling in Dungeoneering slows down both yourself and your team, having +6 more Slash/Stab/Crush/Range/Magic defence and -2 less Range attack at Nex could potentially increase your DPS. You really think +2 Range attack is going to make more difference than +6 every defence at a boss where you actually need Defence?

Why do you need to know people's age & Runescape stats? Also, aren't forum name & profile obvious from the message? :P

You don't wear it while ranging, that's what arma/pernix is for. When meleeing you often don't need the extra defence, hence the neit's offensive bonuses make it superior.

Does anyone know what page the ideal task lists for effigies and for XP were posted on? And is Kuradal best to use, or are the lower level masters worth considering as some of them give more cannon tasks?

People used to not pray as, if they did, no one had the KO potential to kill them. Nowadays, you can easily KO someone through prayer if you have high-level gear. That's why people pray.

The items aren't solely cosmetic though, at the moment the Ornate Katana is the best weapon if you're 1 Attack and Strength.

If you go to the Cape stand in Varrock museum and try to take it, it will give you a list of exactly what you need to get.

Maybe it's just because I have maxed combat stats and gear as well as lots of experience with different builds, but it seems apparent that the author of the 3rd article is very lacking in general combat knowledge and presents flawed examples. You can't compare two players without prayers or familiars and then insist on factoring Summoning and Prayer into the equation, giving the two players different levels in them.

To be honest, no one can really match Zezima. He hasn't even been maxed for 3 years, let alone rank 1, and is still better known than the current top players. I still find it amazing how much of an influence he had on RS.

Know what makes me rage? Arrogant, belligerent PKers who think they actually matter in the grand scheme of things. Also, this. +9001 times this. The grand scheme of TIF? Someone, please, fill me in. I was more referring to how so many PKers (this may or may not include you, I really don't know) constantly whine at Jagex for updates, even though Jagex spent the better part of a year trying to accommodate them. PKers make up a pretty small portion of active members, so to see so many updates go to a minority of players who are mostly ungrateful is frustrating, to say the least. So you're whining about how Jagex listens to other players that whine to them and not you? He has a valid point, there haven't really been many non PvP or quest updates in the past few months.
