  1. Wasnt there a theory a while back that claimed that the closer you were to the combat level of the monster you were trying to get the scroll from the more likely you were to get the scroll?
  2. Ive never gotten a scroll. Id be pretty opposed to expanding this minigame really. Jagex refuses to release higher level content because there isnt enough people to take advantage of it. So not only would only a select few be able to take advantage of it, very few actually would because the rewards are so poor. There is plenty of other content that needs to be released before this.
  3. Runecrafting. Ive always looked at slayer as a bonus to combat xp. Maybe after all 99 combats but it isnt too slow from then. And farming, well, in terms of time spent actually farming its one of the fastest in the game.
  4. string jewellery when you want an easy task, and make planks when you want to pay attention. Plank make is faster xp if you are quick at it then stringing. I cant give you numbers but both are more then 120k an hour. Alching is slow, dont alch. The only advantage is that you dont lose any money. since you already have lunar, you can collect swamp tar from the bucket
  5. Great update. Not being able to run from some monsters all the time was a pain

Id agree with 2-3k extra slayer xp per hour. If I do black demons in CT, which i dont, I can get about 12k range xp using a geyser titan. I dont click the button everytime to make it attack right away, but black demons are probably one of the best tasks to use a famaliar at because of their high hp and relatively low defence.
  7. not really a weapon or a quest reward but toy mice use to be the best agility xp until about level 40-45
  8. Xp lamp, unless I can get snapdragons as the herb reward.
  9. would have to be the sawmill as you lose a bit on lunar.
  10. A little, for how useful it really is. I hardly ever use mine. Pretty nice for waterfiends though.
  11. fight the greens in the chaos tunnels. id estimate you could make about 1m a day from farming and hunting the greens. Ive heard rates of 400k an hour once you know what your doing.
  12. Definatly consider doing ranarr in addition to another one of those methods. I can typically pull a profit of about 100k per run. planting marigolds while your in the area can also add up pretty quickly, considering the seed is very cheap.
  13. I usually put it on summoning. The way I look at it is thats its either going to be expensive or slow to level, or both.
  14. Im pretty sure this is the spot that zarfot was refferrs to in his guide. Ive found it to work really well.
  15. I thought the first article was pretty poorly written. It could have said the same thing in a lot less words. Its no secret that some people, including myself, look for the most efficient way to train. However, instead of going into all kinds of detail on the most efficient way to get 10 fletching and woodcutting levels, it could have simply gave some numbers rather then a lengthy explanation. It also would have been nice to touch on the enjoyment element as well. Just because I can choose a method thats better xp per hour or better money per hour dosent mean i will. How much attention is required, how repetitive a skill is, etc, all play a factor and will eventually affect my xp per hour as well. I think the article would have been much better off if simply explained and compared the different methods of training rather then explain in excessive detail how to plan out one method.
  16. Price really shouldnt be an issue, as you can always re-sell the whip once your done with combat. Its hands down a better weapon then the skim. If you cant afford 1.5m, then go find a way to make some money until you can. Whips are really cheap for how good they are. People pay 7m for a sara sword, and its essentially a 2 handed whip that can train strength.
  17. A nerd to me was always someone who was smart, and all they cared about was school. I look at most high levels as people who are probably similar to me. Work all day and dont have anything better to do then play runescape most of the time. I dont think someones total level or xp really says how often they play the game, after all if you played only a few hours a week for years you by this point would be a pretty good level.
  18. could easily be done. but a few suggestions on gear. bring a helmet that either gives a range bonus or gives a better prayer bonus. diamond bolts (e) will also be nice agaisnt him. if your just killing to see if you can, go for it, you will probably be able to kill him at least once. dont forget a 1 click teleport too. If you dont manage to kill it teleporting with the glory could be tough/impossible.
  19. Dont limit yourself to the normal spellbook if you dont have to. Lunar is a great book to have especially for training. Humidify, string jewellery, plank make, Ive heard even superglass make is pretty good too. you have the options of alching, combat, stunning, and enchanting jewellery on the normal book. All of which require a fair bit of attention. None of them are really that good of experience, alching is okay, but wont get you the gp/xp and speed as some of the lunar methods.
  20. If you wanted to go exclusively for training range slayer is tough because you cant range slay every single task. Dark beasts for instance. Others are hard without good tanking gear and a good defence level which a lot of people dont have and a lot of people are unfamalir with. I think it should. Ranging is oftentimes not that much slower then melee, and the xp per hour comes pretty close to being even because you will be using a cannon. I think a lot of people dont just because they dont know how, and a lot of the ones that do, dont like how slow it can be at times.
  21. Very nice guide. Ive been using it for a few weeks to try to get my range up a bit. With 99 defence and super defence potting, I havent needed more then a bunyip except for abbies for which i use a blessed spirit sheild, which i picked up for pure junk. Id recommend if somebody had the money, picking up a BSS is definatly worth the price since i believe its under 5m now.

I read this a little while ago to about page 20. If you have no desire to ever train slayer, then by all means go powerlevel. I think its a pretty tough sell to say that slayer is going to be better overall experience. I tell people that I think slayer is a good way to train because, for the most part it isnt terrible. Especially for the kind of player that would be asking that kind of question. Somebody who is probably a low level, unfamaliar with the map, and could benefit from learning more about combat in the game. Somebody at that low of a level might even be able to get a decent cash flow from herb drops, essence, and the like that some of the lower slayer monsters drop. Sure they could camp at rock crabs or something, but i think a new player, or even one new to members, would be a lot better off training slayer. There is also the people like me who simply enjoy training slayer. Id get bored if I was fighting the same monster again and again.
  23. I dont think I could sell my account for any less then 5 thousand or so. Ive put a lot of time into my character, have had and still have a lot of fun on this game. If I were to sell, I dont think I would ever come back to the game. There is no way I would be able to start over.
