  1. Whether or not they started out with clean toadflax, both clean and grimy were ultimately merchanted; I simply used the graph of the grimy toadflax as it's growth was a bit more linear (hence, more "obvious" in terms of manipulation) than that of the clean toadflax. [hide=Clean Toadflax][/hide] Anyway, I'd suggest to anyone considering joining one of these price-manipulation clans to avoid doing so. The leaders of these clans often extort their own members by releasing false information and dumping their stockpiled items before the agreed date, and Jagex may well crack down on the practice in the near future, futhermore. Price manipulation is morally dubious to begin with, so it's probably best to stay well away from it all; personally, I keep track of the activities of several of the most influential clans as a matter of interest, but I don't participate in the on-going price manipulation. 'Stay informed so that you won't be taken by surprise when you need to buy some form of supply, only to find that it's being merchanted, but go no further than that.
  2. A certain price-manipulation clan recently merchanted crushed nests and grimy toadflax, as can be seen in these updated graphs that I've just now taken screenshots of: [Crushed Nests] [Grimy Toadflax] Price Manipulation is clearly evident in these price trends, and the GE item graphs quite obviously speak for themselves in this.
  3. Den removed some of the out-of-place pixels, so it looks alright. If they weren't a result of anti-aliasing, though, then I've no idea where they came from. [hide='Take note of the "blending" pixels along the outside][/hide] Ahh well, it shouldn't matter now.

  5. I agree that the current PvP system is greatly flawed, but this statement won't advance your cause. I won't pretend to know the exact numbers, but I believe only a mere 10% (or less) of Pkers left the game as a result of the RWT update. These players have long since been replaced by a flood of new members, and the number of accounts created in recent times has actually reached all-time highs. You'd do better to present your argument in terms of the decline in the quality of gameplay, rather than in that of the quantity of players. Anyhow, I would propose the following: (1) Calculate the value of items "risked" by a player starting at the fifth most valuable item (if non-skulled) or the second most valuable item (if skulled), so that players won't be able to safely gain Potential by being able to use Protect Item at the last moment before they're killed. (2) Remove the EP percentage-counter. (3) Increase the rate at which Drop Potential is earned, but require players to risk 26k/76k at all times and be in combat before any Potential can be earned. (4) Set a conditional limit to the value of individual "kills," e.g. only allow for a player to receive item rewards totaling to ~75-110% of the value of the items lost by the killed player (or, perhaps, 90-150% if the player was the bounty target) if they're at 100% EP and risking 26k/76k. (5) Allow Mandrith and Nastroth to open shops containing untradeable versions of the Ancient PvP Sets and Corrupted Dragon Gear valued at ~75% of their minimum price on the GE. Players could still turn in their PvP artefacts directly for GP and receive the tradeable versions of the Ancient PvP items and Corrupted Dragon items as normal drops, but they'd also be given the chance to purchase these items at a significant discount from Mandrith/Nastroth. However, they'd only be able to buy these by turning in PvP artefacts for some form of untradeable, non-refundable "credit tokens" and spending the tokens instead of GP. In Bounty Worlds (where the GE cannot be accessed), Mandrith could also offer standard potions/food/armour for ~110% of their maximum price on the GE. (6) Remove the High Alchemy Spell (while keeping Low Alchemy and simply renaming it "Alchemy") to prevent inflation, as should have been done long ago. This is by no means a perfect solution, but I believe implementing these measures would certainly be a step in the right direction. 'Please give me your opinion on whether or not any of this would be beneficial. :)
  6. Eh, it looks like your picture was originally anti-aliased, DeEliteOne. :| I could transparify the image if you'd like, but it really would look better if you were to retake the picture with anti-aliasing disabled. Whatever you want is fine, though, so just let me know.

  8. 'Not a problem. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your research. :D And, as a general note to anyone who's been following this, I'll need a day or two more before I post my Minigame conglomerate guide information. Even for a WIP, it's still quite messy, and so I'll need a bit more time. I'm happy to report that the Temple Trekking/Burgh de Rott Ramble portion, at least, is coming along nicely. So that's good news; it is, after all, the crown jewel of the project. ;)
  9. The tome experience values on the Tip.it TT/BdRR guide were pulled from the Knowledge Base (specifically, from the bottom of this page). I doubt--both from this and my personal experience with this particular Minigame--that the values are incorrect, but I've created a thread on the Jagex Lite board of the RSOF seeking confirmation, just in case. The KB has published false information in the past, and, to be honest, I haven't always checked the amount of experience I've gained from the tomes, so there's a possibility that your findings may hold some merit. I'll continue to research this issue and will keep you updated on my progress.
  10. Guthix Balance potions, when used on bound Juvinates, can either kill them outright, cause them to revert into humans, or "anger" them and make them transform into feral Vampires (this has the effect of increasing their combat levels by 10, but, at the same time, causes for them to lose their immunity to normal weapons). As SupportMage said, you can make quick work of them should you encounter them again. http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2monster_id=659 ^^I believe this is the Vampire in question.
  11. I'm sorry, I don't mean to put you off. :( I'll prepare my data and post it in a couple days, and we'll (along with anyone else interested) work on it from there. While the Crew may not be interested in a composite guide, there's still quite a bit of room for improvement in the pre-existing site guides. So, by working on the guide here, it'd be possible to update the site and prepare the user guide for release in the AOW at the same time. :D
  12. I'm not interested in being credited; I'm just overly-cautious and accustomed to working on my own. Now that you've mentioned it, though, I think I would rather work on the site guides. It would certainly be more lasting than a user guide posted in the AoW, and I'd have the benefit of working with dedicated and more trustworthy people. If a Crewbie reads this, could you tell me how I should go about it? Would I simply create a thread devoted to revamping a particular guide and use that as the base-of-operations? If so, I could probably prepare the information I've already gathered and have it somewhat presentable within a day or two. My only concern is that, with the relative inactivity of this board, not much would be accomplished. I'm also a bit nervous to reveal a WIP to the general public, but I can get over that. :P How do you (Crewbies) normally write and prepare the site guides? Obviously, it must be done on somewhere other than the public boards (at least, I've never seen any evidence of it), but what process do you follow in writing them? Are there certain guidelines which must be observed?
  13. Thanks for the offer; once I release my guide, I'll be accepting submissions to supplement my own data. However, I'll be reserving the right to throw out any questionable logs when the time comes. [hide=]1. Runite bar 2. Snapdragon Seed 3. 11 Rune arrows 4. Dragon Spear 5. Tooth Half of a Key 6. Rune Kiteshield(g)[/hide] My guide will cover the Temple Trekking/Burgh de Rott Ramble and Pyre Minigames and will also include a section on what I call the "Restoration" activities (using Serums 207/208 and Guthix Balance Potions). I have most of the information saved to my computer, but I'd like to be able to incorporate a few logs into my guide. Unfortunately, I'm lacking in these, so that's what I'm working on now. :| Anyway, good luck with your Vyre slaying; it's a great activity which just doesn't seem to garner the attention it deserves. That's actually the main reason why I've been writing this guide--maybe other players will realize how amazing some of these neglected Minigames are once I finish it.
  14. Right, let me try and explain to people what 'instance' plces are. These are areas where only YOU can be, they are usually quest related areas, which you are teleported to and the 'instances' inside them are generated as you use them. As a short hand, anywhere other players are with you, is NOT instance (that i know of) Yeah, a couple of examples would be the Jungle Demon boss fight during Monkey Madness or in the different events from Temple Trekking/Burgh de Rott Ramble.
  15. I've recently completed logging 500 Vyrewatch kills for a guide I'm working on, and I decided to post the log here since it could help update the site's Vyrewatch drop lists. First, however, I noticed several inconsistencies between the different Vyrewatch drop lists. The drops should all be the same among the variants, as the item rewards come from cremating the Vyre corpses on a pyre, rather than being dropped directly by the NPCs. Because of this, I've prepared a "master list" of sorts by compiling the information from all of the Vyrewatch variant entries. [hide=Master List]Gold: 1430-1680 100%: Vyre corpse Weapons: Black spear, Adamant javelin(13, 22), Mithril hatchet, Rune javelin(8-11), Rune spear, Dragon spear, Rune dagger Armour: Adamant full helm, Adamant full helm(t), Adamant platelegs, Adamant platebody(t), Rune platelegs, Black full helm(g), Black platebody(g), Black platelegs(g), Rune full helm(t), Rune kiteshield(g), Rune med helm, Black dragonhide(set) Runes/Arrows: Rune(8-11), Adamant(16-28), Steel(62-121), Chaos(14-19), Death(10, 13 30), Blood(7-12), Earth(87-106), Law(7, 10, 13), Nature(8, 14, 15) Misc: Adamantite ore, Gold bar(7-13 noted), Uncut gem, Half key, Shield left half(dragon), Herb (1-3; Harralander or better), Runite bar, Zamorak pages, Guthix pages, Saradomin pages, Blood talisman, Nature talisman Seeds: Herb(1), Limpwurt(1), Cactus(1) Charms(1): Gold, Green, Crimson, Blue[/hide]So, this drop list should be written into each Vyrewatch entry to remove the current discrepencies. Also, the entries (all of them except for the level 85 variant's, at least) should be updated to reflect that the Vyrewatch can be found east of Burgh de Rott (and not just in Meiyerditch or on one of the Temple Trekking/Burgh de Rott Ramble paths as the entries currently suggest). Uncut Sapphire & Gold Charm[/hide]In an unrelated note, this is a fairly poor batch. When I cremated my first 500 Vyres a week or so after Legacy of Seergaze was released (I'm an avid trekker, so the flail was a godsend), I remember getting several more pages and one or two pieces of the trimmed armours. Ahh well, I just wish that I had recorded those drops as well. Anyway, I've highlighted the drops I received which do not appear on your lists. If you trust that I'm not lying about these, they should be added to the "master list." Here's the updated list (again, with the changes highlighted in red), if you'd like: [hide=Revised Master List]Gold: 907-1694 100%: Vyre corpse Weapons: Black spear, Adamant javelin(13-22), Mithril hatchet, Rune javelin(6-11), Rune spear, Dragon spear, Rune dagger Armour: Adamant full helm, Adamant full helm(t), Adamant platelegs, Adamant platebody(t), Rune platelegs, Black full helm(g), Black platebody(g), Black platelegs(g), Rune full helm(t), Rune kiteshield(g), Rune med helm, Black dragonhide(set) Runes/Arrows: Rune(6-11), Adamant(15-28), Steel(62-122), Chaos(11-19), Death(8-30), Blood(7-12), Earth(62-121), Law(7-13), Nature(8-15) Misc: Adamantite ore, Gold bar(7-13 noted), Uncut gem, Half key, Shield left half(dragon), Herb (1-3; Harralander or better), Runite bar, Zamorak pages, Guthix pages, Saradomin pages, Blood talisman, Nature talisman Seeds: Herb(1), Limpwurt(1), Cactus(1) Charms(1): Gold, Green, Crimson, Blue[/hide]The changes aren't incredibly significant, but that just means that your drop lists were fairly accurate to begin with. :P 'Cheers.
  16. matter-antimatter annihilation, nuclear fission and nuclear fusion all destroy matter. This is from the annihilation page on Wikipedia. Concerning nuclear reactions, some of the mass is simply converted into energy (light and heat); nothing is "destroyed" in the process.
  17. If you don't have the Karamja Diary Gloves, the next best route to Shilo would be to use the cart system: (1) Teleport to Ardougne with 40 GP in your invent. (2) Take a ship to Brimhaven for 30 GP. (3) Speak to Hajedy (who's nearby) to take a cart to Shilo for 10 GP. (4) Run to Duradel/Lapalok to receive your new task. I marked up a pathway if you feel you need it (excuse my poor drawing skills): [hide=] [/hide] EDIT: ...and I get beat to it by several people.
  18. You should burst Rock Lobsters--setting the attack style to whichever option splits the experience you gain between Magic and Hitpoints, of course. Here's a guide, if you're interested: viewtopic.php?f=103&t=754040
  19. It's the muslim fanatics that keep bothering us, normal people, with death, threats and death. I'd just like to point out that stereotyping won't lend either of you much credibility. Generally, problems arise when people holding conflicting, fanatical beliefs clash. In this case, anyone who clings too tightly to their set of beliefs--be that person theistic or atheistic--to the point of blindly and vehemently denying all others is at fault, and since radicals can exist in any denomination of faith, no one group should be discriminated against for it. 'Feel free to criticize individuals for their own behavoir or zealotry, but don't assume that everyone sharing that same person's view is at fault as well. Remember to keep an open mind and to never stop questioning one's own beliefs; you'll find that they do sometimes change with thought and time.
  20. Heh, what's with the "[Caution]?" :? Anyway, onto my reply: Ahh, 'my apologies then. I had assumed we were discussing the suffering of humans in relation to God's purpose. I've said it before, but I agree that mankind benefits from the misery of individuals; I just don't believe that this plan could possibly have been adopted by an all-powerful, ever-loving God, and I had thought that you were arguing otherwise. So I apologize if I made the wrong assumption, but if that is the case, then what were we arguing about to begin with? What strawmen? I'd appreciate it if you could point out the offending quotes, as I don't see any statement of yours I've misrepresented, and that certainly isn't my intent. I wouldn't intentionally judge someone I don't know--much less attack them in a debate and twist their words to suit my own purpose. Also, I never said that you considered it "an excuse not to do anything about the problems." Again, I don't know you personally, so I wouldn't make that assumption; my point was that many people do, in fact, use it as an excuse. Instead of doing anything to help solve or even mitigate the plethora of problems evident in this world, an astounding number of people simply offer their condolences for the victims and act no further. I don't expect everyone to have bleeding hearts for those less fortunate, but everyone can and should play some small part to help in making the world a better place. It just doesn't happen, though, and that's definitively wrong. And yes, I do not believe a silver-lining exists in all situations. Perhaps for something as realtively minor as a child catching chickenpox or a teenager losing his or her summer job, I'd be able to understand your viewpoint. After all, the child would develop an immunity to the disease and be protected throughout adulthood (when chickenpox becomes increasingly potent and dangerous), and the teenager would be able to hang out with friends during the break rather than having to work. In these cases I can understand, but what "bright side" are the severely malnourished and terminially ill supposed to see in their situation? Granted, someone dying of cancer could realize that, at the very least, they weren't starving to death, but what kind of silver-lining is that? It would be a delusion meant to console themselves only; it would be similar to unconsciously thinking the following in order to feel better about having to suffer through their own ordeal: That's the weakness I had spoken of earlier--turning to the misfortune of others so that they may shore up their debilitated psyches. I see a crucial difference between being grateful for what one has and being grateful for not being in another's position. I find the above quote despicable in its timidity and unconscious selfishness, while I believe the following, revised quote to be perfectly acceptable and resilient: So, maybe there is a "true" silver-lining to look to in every situation, and if there is, then it's surely to be found in being grateful for the things one already has. You wrote in the previous post that "it's more disgusting to let their suffering go to waste than to make something positive out of it," but I would argue that there is nothing positive in making use of the suffering of others in the first place. Misery isn't a commodity, and utilizing it as such only serves to perpetuate this false truth. Structural-functionalism, one of the paradigms of sociological study, holds that every construct of society exists to serve some purpose, and that those which lose their purpose in the system will eventually cease to exist. In not letting misery and suffering "go to waste," their existance becomes confirmed, and, as I said above, perpetuated. If we (and by "we" I mean "mankind as a whole") were to refuse to profit from the misery of other people and reject the notion that suffering will always exist and should therefore be made use of, then it all may come to cease. 'Idealistic, I know, but it's a principle I believe we should adhere to; rather than accepting human suffering as inevitable, we should combat and utterly reject the thought--even if it appears to be a futile and overly-optimistic endeavor. I applaud you for this. Your friend was absolutely right; many, many people wouldn't have had a second thought about throwing it away. It's best to be thankful for what we have and remain considerate of others. I know. I wouldn't expect for you or anyone else to solve all of our worldly problems individually, as we've all contributed in the creation and continuation of these problems. If everyone were to play their small part in a communal effort addressing the world's problems, I honestly believe we'd find success in our enterprise, however. But the fact of the matter is that it just doesn't happen, and that is why I find those unwilling to participate despicable.
  21. And those who survived them. I agree that there are cases where the people suffering get nothing out of it, but you're thinking on a personal level too much instead of extrapolating it to a universal level. Not everyone's going to be happy, but this allows for at least some people to be happy which is better than no one. So where is God in this? I agree that suffering greatly benefits mankind as a whole, but what of the "losers" in the process? Am I to believe that God (while supposedly loving everyone on an individual basis) would sacrifice some of his beloved so that those remaining would be able to "appreciate" their lives more as a result? It's disgusting to be grateful that you're not in their shoes...? Yes, I believe so; I find it callous and decidedly naive. Do you mean to tell me that when you hear a mother telling her child to eat his or her food because "there are starving children in Africa who'd love to have it" that you don't feel disgusted? People today (and particularly those living in post-industrial, "modern" nations) are so often sheltered from reality; they hear of the suffering of millions of people but are removed from it all. It's sickening. None of these are "actual" quotes, but I'm sure you've heard similarly ignorant, self-serving statements such as these before. People cushioned from the harsher realities of life can watch charity commercials detailing the horrors faced by many of the world's poor and the dire need for aid, offer their fleeting, hollow pity for people suffering far more than they would ever be able to imagine, and promptly continue--heedless--about their day afterward. The blatant lack of genuine empathy is stunning; it is, in fact, repulsive. I realize that it wouldn't be realistic to expect everyone to have bleeding hearts for the destitute and miserable, but it's ridiculous how so many can simply be glad for themselves in the knowledge that they're not quite as bad off as the next person. I suppose this behavoir is merely adhering to the adage of "out of sight, out of mind." Do you understand what I mean? I'm having difficulty describing my feelings adequately in words, but, essentially, I see this form of gratitude as a maddening weakness--one which, at once, serves as both a justification for perceived superiority and an excuse to do nothing in righting the wrongs of the world.
  22. Basilisks, I believe, are essentially the best green charm droppers. They're easily killed and are fairly enjoyable.
  23. Supercompost guarantees a minimum harvest of five herbs--should the herb plant survive; I don't believe it guarantees any specific number for allotment harvests. Watering plants, however, does not affect the potential yield.
