    Google is God

[hide=Me vs Google] Google doesn't know everything, it merely organizes the many webpages on the internet, it doesn't know what these pages contain, the only think it knows is the 9.5billion links and how to organize them. Google is not everywhere at once, it is in many different servers all around the world. It can be accesed from almost everywhere on earth, but it ins't there per se. Besides, Omnipresent means everywhere, not everywhere on Earth. Under that agument, I am god, after all you can ask me a question and I will to the best of my ability answer it, wich is the same thing it does, only on a smaller scale than Google's. Destroy the world= destroy Google, so no not inmortal. A god under most definitions would survive the destructuion of a single planet. 3.4x10^38. The max amount of internet adresses that can be used under the IPv6 server. Sure when that is filled we can use another sistem but each of those sistems take space and since the universe is not infinite it's space to hold these sistems would run out eventualy, making it finite. It can't remember all forever, eventually it needs to delete information to mantain server space. Google "suicide methods" find one, follow it, kill yourself. There, Google just did something evil. And besides, just because the company filosofy says it doesn't do evil, it doesn't mean it doesn't. So what? I is searched more, that doesn't prove anything at all. And how does Google help you at all? It doesn't it merely links to pages that can help you. So? Evidence that it exist doesn't mean it's a god. Under that logic, since I am writing this, there is evidence of my existance, and thus I am a god, but I'm not, and neither is Google.[/hide] *I fully understand that this was made as a joke and it should not be taken seriously. I just couldn't resist.*
  2. If you use the line burning method you can burn about 1k logs/h, if you use the box method you can burn 1.3k/h. So: 140 hours/2=70 days with the line method. 108(rounded up) hours/2= 54 days with the box method. Line method is just burning them in a line. Box method consist on burning them using figures, wich is faster since you can get closer to the bank while you burn. There is a guide on the General guides forum on this,I think it's called Profesional Firemaking.
  3. I agree on your point that when you junk trade you still sell the actual items for the same price. However this logic is negated by one of thing : PEOPLE ARE STUPID. They don't care that they are still selling the item for the same price. They want the ilusion that they are getting more money for what they are selling, even if it's just an ilusion. They think as junk as being items that aren't worth any money, so they see a trade as they giving away their rare (worth x) and junk (really worth y but to them being worth 0) for y+x. To them they traded the rare for x+y and the junk for nothing, since it is worth nothing (in their minds). And to people takeing advantage of others, this is a game, morals have no value here. The goal of people here is to be better than the rest, otherwise, why grind for hours on skills?. Why merchant to get enormous amounts of money you will never use? Why buy expensive equipment when there's other things you can use that are both cheaper and more useful. Also, because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean that they are't intelligent. This may seem contradictory with my previous opinion that people are stupid, but there I was talking about humanity as a general, here I am talking about the people that made good points. If someone makes an intellingent argument then they are not stupid, but if someone makes a stupid argument over an over, it most likely means that they are stupid(I'm not calling you stupid here, you make some good points, I'm just explaining myself), wich is the case of most of humanity unfortanely.
  4. Junk trading is an effect from the removal of free trading. the player want to dictate the price they sell and buy things from so they came up with a way to do that: junk. The only way to surely remove junk trading is to give back free trade, orin other words, the give people the ability to dictate the prices. Sure, the G.E. prices change based on the things that people sell, but Jagex sets the starting price, if people feel that that price is wrong, they wont start to sell their items to raise/lower the price, because they will fill that they are getting ripped off, instead they willuse junk trading , wich allows them to trade things for a price they feel is fairand in turn causes the G.E. prices to stagnate, unless Jagex changes them. that however would make people feel that Jagex wants to control what they do, even if they change the price for a fairer one. Also you argue that under the current circumtance casual players will never be able to afford these items, however the items were made so the average player wouldn't be able to buy them, because they were meant to be a status symbol (exept for the rares but that wasen't Jagex intention in the first place).
  5. [hide=Good reasons for the trade limit] Makes scamming almost impossible and makes it so you can't lose too much from it. Prevents the transfer of items between people's accounts. Makes begging is hardly worth it. Kills RTW (part of it at least) and with it must autoers. Make it so you actually have to EARN the money you get instead of someone giving things to you.[/hide] Now the discussion I think it's a step forwards, while I do remember the old companies I don't miss them, I don't miss haggling, I don't miss getting sometimes horrible deals for some items because it was the only way to get them, I don't miss standing in Falador world 1 screaming :"Selling 1k iron ore 80k" (not sure if that's the price it sold for at the time but it's around there). All of this is made unnecessary because of the changes that Jagex has done to the game. As to the lost of the "human element" it is still there, just no longer in the same way it was. If the "human element" as you call it is what drew you to this game and is the thing that you like about it, then adapt your gameplay to form part of it. Raise your combat and go to GWD, or the Corporeal Beast or whatever. To me the game has always been about 3 different aspects: the combat, the skilling and the economy. If you found the combat part fun, then you are now better off, if you found the skilling part fun, the your life is now easier thanks to the Grand Exchange if you found the economy aspect fun (merchanting, investing) the adapt and learn to use the G.E. to your advantage. If you really hate combat but wish to feel the "human element" then join a skilling clan, a merchanting clan, a star hunting clan, a minigame clan or form one. You just need to adapt to the changes to the game and use them to your advantage. As to you preferring the time Jagex added new content over making changes, they still do add new things. This last year of 2008 is considered by many to be one of the best years when it comes to updates. This year we got summoning, the first grandmaster quest, various minigames, high definition, the partial return of player killing, various quests, the bank interface ect, ect. However the "drastic changes to the way you play the game" were necessary to the continuation of the game. If they had not fought as fiercely as they did against RTW the game would have been ruined. You ,a skiller, have to understand that. Your life is much easier now that there are practically no bots. Your life is much easier now that you can't get forced to selling your things at a low price. Easier now that I'm running out of things to say so I'm going to shut up. PS:Cuppy didn't say that he was a "classic rs2 player". He said that he played both in classic and in Rs2. The term "classic Rs2 player' is a bit confusing.
  6. The air company doesn't work by money now, or at least it isn't used much. It now works with assting which makes it so he can't do it(you will probably need 7x for anyone to request). But still it depends if you prefer speed or money, you will make a bit of a profit on airs but it is horribly slow. Fastest exp is earth rune with the Fist of Guthix gloves, without them I think fastest is fire but I am not sure.
  7. You need level 70 pray to bless them. Yes 60 minutes for all when it is about to decay you can repair it (and maybe bless it i am not sure) again. You don't need anything to repair graves and it lasts about 5 minutes.
  8. People won't ask for assist unless your at leat 7x, which you are so you should be okay. As to if it is worth your time as a member I don't know but just standing there typing "7x assist-[insert name]" should seems easier than normal rc training. However remember the exp limit from assisting.
  9. 45,921/27=1,701 rounded up.(Number of inventories) 1,701*3=5,103(Number of ores paid) 45,921-5,103=40,818 (Number of ores you will end up with) 40,818*500=20,409,000 20.4m profit. ^ Fixed calculations. If you want profit go for that. If you want speed you best bet would be granite or iron. On the time, well if the 50k/h experience is correct then: 2,984,852-Experience that you need for 60-85. 2984,984,852/50,000= 60 hours rounded up. And for gold if you can get a load in say 10 minutes:( I don't know how long it would take for a load just assuming here) 1,071*10=17,010 minutes 17,010/60=284 hours rounded up. So it would seem that it is 60 hours no profit or 284 hours with a 20.4m profit. You choose.

    One Day....

Mining, no doubt. It gives the best money making in f2p. With that I can buy what I need for the other buyable skills.
  11. Thanks anim. I thought it was 1 exp. So: 50,000/33.25=1,504 rounding up. So not much of a difference, which leaves whether controlled is faster or not to the weapon. And since I am f2p I can't comment on most of them, but individual training is better in f2p since all of our weapons (as far as I know) are inferior in controlled modes than in the other modes.
  12. Heres the problem with that thought, I want you leoben to get a new account and try to log in on the same world with both accounts, and you will find out that it will not allow you to, I have thought this over. Next time you post do you homework, cause its not worth my time to have to look at my forums and see that some noob has posted in my post with false info. It just takes too much of my time and it makes you look like a a bigger noob. He He I love it when people call me noob. If you are going to insult someone try to come up with something more imaginative. Besides, it's Christmas, I don't have to do any homework! No seriously I was talking about having it die, logging out and logging in with your main. I didn't know that graves dissapear after you log out ( I bothered to make a new account and to get him out of tutorial island to check). I am sorry for the inconvinience. However I still disagree, its free prayer experience, something I am against unless you bother to kill something to get it's bones. PS:Try to not double post, just use the EDIT button.
  13. I don't support, it can be abused. You would be able to make a couple of new accounts, have them die somewhere and just keep repairing their graves. When the limit kick in, just let the graves disappear make the other accounts die and repeat. Not only would it give a high amount of free experience, you could be working on other skills at the same time which means prayer would not require your full attention to level up. So no, too easy to abuse.
  14. Ok assume you need 50k exp in all of them. You are killing Flesh Crawlers (25hp each 100xp per kill on 1 skill with individual training 25xp to all 3 on controlled, easier to caculate). You kill them at a constant rate of 10 seconds each. Individual 50kx3 is 150k exp total. 150,000/100=1,500 You need to kill 1,500 crawlers. 1,500x10=15,000 seconds. Controlled You only need to gain 50k exp since you are training all 3 at the same time. 50,000/25=2,000 You need to kill 2,000 crawlers. 2,000x10=20,000 seconds. So individual training is faster. Correct me if my calculations are wrong but to me they seem correct.
