  1. Currently playing baritone horn (as in, the British version, not what the Americans like calling student-model euphoniums) in my local brass band. It's gonna take a while for me to get back into it, but I'm having fun.

    Today...

In just under 15 hours' time, I make my brass banding comeback. I haven't really played in a year. Part of it is volunteer work helping the youngsters who are learning out, but I'm also going to try and find something I can do with my life. Needless to say, I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing but I'm sure that I'll be fine. It's like being 11 and just being told that I'm allowed into the full band from the training band again, seriously.
  3. Well this has gone to crap. Way too many posting lists at once.
  4. Firefox behaves more and more like Opera each release.
  5. Philips make pretty good low-end headphones for the price. I have a pair of SHP2500 Philips headphones that I bought to replace my Sennheiser HD205 set, and I can fully say that they're one hell of a lot better than the Sennheisers. Some people reckon they sound tinny, but I found the other set I had to be tinnier after trying my current ones. They're a little quiet and are generally more suited to TV/video use than music, but yeah. Good all-rounders for the price. [edit] What you must remember with headphones is, like everything else, more often than not you're paying for the brand. I would recommend going to HMV or wherever and trying a couple of pairs out.

    Friends

A couple of my friends share similar personality traits to myself. That is, they're nerdy and pretty friendly. There are a few friends of mine that are rather [bleep]ish, and I also know a couple of fat, weeaboo goths who endlessly go on about how much their life sucks when they've pretty much got it made for themselves already. Quite a weird bunch.
  7. Did those who saw Attack Attack! witness crabcore in action?
  8. They don't really click with me quite as much as Obscura does. They're good albums, but I place Obscura at the pinnacle of death metal perfection. I remember listening to it for the first time and having my mind completely blown. Clouded is an amazing song.
  9. I consistently clock uptimes of over 2 weeks. I leave my computer on because I hate starting it up in the mornings.
  10. The headset that Nadril posted is probably the best you'll get. Also, I find that Sennheiser headphones sound really flat and boring. I had a pair of HD205s for quite a while, but I recently replaced them with some cheaper headphones that are more comfortable and better-sounding.
  11. I've not seen Negima at all, but I recommend Nodame Cantabile. Great characters, hilarious moments and an awesome story.
  12. I don't understand how anyone can seriously hate Brokencyde. Sure, they're not exactly super awesome creativity-wise, but man, they're so damn catchy. Same applies to all of this kiddie-pop that the angsty teens of TIF seem to hate so much. It seems that less and less people are enjoying simple, unpretentious pop tunes by the day. This is one thing that I've realised after subjecting myself to years and years of experimental and avant-garde [bleep]: simple music is awesome; whether it be metal, pop, rock or whatever. Now that I've lost all credibility, I leave you with preferred tune for enraging my friends: [yt]sDkPdJJoqSc[/yt]
  13. Already heard it, it's a fantastic album. Words can't really do justice to how unique and epic it is.. I tried to grow hair like the guy from Lykathea Aflame once. Needless to say it didn't really go very well - I ended up looking like some sort of folk musician. Porcupine Tree - Blackest Eyes
  14. This is the OP. Now, nothing really makes me want to kill myself.
  15. I didn't know you had such a varied taste in music. Definitely a very good and diverse list. A lot of stuff I really enjoy is on there.
  16. Lots of people didn't find it that great, including several people I know. It was a little strange for Clannad, but I really liked it. Kyou is superb.
  17. I was wrong about Clannad: After Story. Man, I feel really sorry for Tomoya. Also, Kyou OVA was wonderful.
  18. Do other sites load reasonably well? I'm trying to rule out any issues with your Internet connection. [edit] Seems as if it's a connection issue. Your Internet speed is rather slow by today's standards. Just out of interest, is anyone doing bandwidth-intensive activities such as downloading large files via torrents? If not, I would restart your modem and router, and then call your ISP. Are you on a wired or wireless connection?
  19. Just kill it after you're done playing Java games.
  20. I bestow you the honour of a picture of me, not long after waking up.
  21. I'm not a death metal fan by any means, but that album is amazing. Disillusion - And the Mirror Cracked Back to Times of Splendor is probably the greatest progressive metal album ever, if we take maudlin of the Well out of the equation. Fat riffs, brilliant songwriting, emotional, powerful vocals that manage to carry the lyrics perfectly. If you've never listened to Disillusion before and you're into metal, I fully recommend them.
