    Rap lol

    Gone off rap already?
  2. SilverSword admitting to liking all of Dream Theater's albums... never thought I'd see tha-- wait a sec! I think I also blame maudlin of the Well's 'Part the Second' for re-igniting my love for prog metal. Which I must add is better than every DT album ever. Also, I need to add that I'm almost delusionally feverish, and am on a maximum dose of painkillers right now. Yeah.
  3. One Step More and You Die, or Walking Cloud and Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered and the Sun Shined. All their albums are excellent though. Get One Step More and You Die for sure though. I once read a good analogy of it, "public transport in musical form". Can't say whether I agree or not, but regardless, it does feel like a 'journey'. maudlin of the Well - The Blue Ghost/Shedding Qlipoth
  4. Whoa, I was acting like such an [wagon] earlier on. Disregard all of that crap. Here's my opinion: Every moment of it was brilliant. They said they were going to combine all their previous efforts at epics together, and boy, has it paid off. This album made me love Dream Theater again. "The Best of Times" is my favourite track, and I really like "The Count of Tuscany" too. The other tracks are great too, but they didn't speak to me in the same way that those two did. "Wither" grew on me after a minute or so. I thought that one was pretty meh at first, but then it turned into a classic Dream Theater ballad. I love Dream Theater's ballads. All in all, a VERY strong album, and probably one of the best they've ever put out! (it's hard for me to say that, because I love all of their albums). I'd rank it somewhere in between Scenes From a Memory and A Change of Seasons. 8/10. I'm definitely buying the collector's edition.

    Today...

I have a cold. I feel like crap. Been years since I've had a cold so I'd forgotten how rotten it feels. And what's worse is that it's summer, so I'm aching and feverish in the heat. F*cking brilliant.
  6. Hey this is the same guy who posted that thread about making friends. Here is my advice again: quit RuneScape.
  7. That's probably my favourite from the new album. Track #5 - Sunshower This might be my album of the year for 2009. It's pretty close between this and maudlin of the Well's new release, Part the Second; but I think this one takes it because it's just so blissful and dreamy. It's like I'm listening to Slowdive, but more upbeat and outgoing than that. Hush is strong and bold, but timid and shy at the same time. There's a mini-review for you.
  8. King Crimson - 21st Century Schizoid Man (including Mirrors)
  9. Great band. Dream Theater - Pull Me Under In light of their new album, (which, after my little rant, was a LOT better than I expected) I'm listening to some of my DT CDs that I bought a year or so ago when I wanted to start buying music.
  10. Took the words out of my mouth. Green Day is a band that's raking in the cash anyway, and if people can't buy their CD at Wal-Mart, they'll simply go to another store to buy it. This is childish; they're still acting like arrogant teens when every member of that band must be at least 30. I guess some people just don't grow out of that silly rebellious ideology.
  11. Wait till they bite you... Well, yeah. But things like that don't really terrify me. It's just the concept of a spindly, fast-moving house spider that really creeps me out.
  12. Tool - Lateralus I used to write this band off a lot. Honestly though, Maynard is a brilliant frontman and the band compose some solid material. They're not quite as deep and meaningful as some of their devotees like to make out (in my opinion), but that doesn't stop them from writing and playing great alternative rock songs.
  13. Realistically large spiders get me. I'm talking large house spiders and stuff, not those [bleep]ers you see in Australia. I simply laugh at those.
  14. [bleep] YES. ANOTHER GORGUTS FAN. And yeah, I think Clouded is the best song on the album too. It's almost doom metal in a way. Also, the lyrics to the whole album are absolutely fantastic. Some of the best metal lyrics I've ever read. Opeth - The Moor

    Chicken

Chicken soup is pretty cool, and so are kievs, but more for the garlic sauce. Otherwise, I'm not too keen on chicken (and meat in general).
  16. I was thinking pretty much the same thing, judging by how the OP is explaining his situation. So yeah, just quit RuneScape, OP. You'll be forever thankful that you listened to my advice.
  17. Step #1 to IRL success: quit RuneScape. No, seriously. If your friends are bothering you so much over your account and it bothers YOU too, then why don't you find some other way to occupy your free time instead of playing RuneScape? Also, get better friends.

    Post-Rock

For Jesu, get Silver and Conqueror. The debut is great too, but it seems like that one is more drone than post-rock. For Mono, get One Step More and You Die and Walking Cloud and Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered and the Sun Shined. Yeah, the trendy kids like them, which is part of the reason that most people on the internet (at least) call them bad bands. I'm pretty indifferent to both. Neither are bands that I listen to regularly because I don't feel like listening to half an hour of going nowhere for a one-minute buildup.
  19. Finally a thrasher in this thread \ Pantera /= thrash metal Also, most people grow out of metal after high school, and MM&T has a lot of people over 16. The Fall of Troy - Chapter II: A Strange Conversation Not a particularly big fan of The Fall of Troy, but I do like this particular album quite a lot. Gives me a lot of The Mars Volta vibes. Is that Fall of Troy track off the new EP? Think the album's worth paying 5 bucks for? Yeah I would say so. It's decent. Aki Kuroda - To Zanarkand Listening to the FFX piano collection album. Very nice.

    Today...

The more I read your posts, the more I realise that I've taken my relatively carefree parents for granted / thought of them as "normal". I would even say that your family is a lot more normal than mine because no matter what happens, my parents seem so unbelievably postive and upbeat. There are no over-the-top punishments here because nobody does anything worth punishing. There's the odd fall-out here and there, but my family is pretty chill on the whole. Until my brother starts getting moody, anyway. Thanks. I really need to land myself some form of job if I can't get into any of my chosen colleges for whatever reason. Even if I hate it, it's money and some place to be other than at home all day.

    Today...

There is no real "easy way" to combat either; you just have to MAKE yourself shower and MAKE yourself go out. Trust me, if there was a shortcut to being a more sociable person I would've taken it, but you just need to really do it and enjoy whatever you're doing. You don't have to go out and get hammered at parties every weekend to qualify as "social" - all that needs to be done is to just hang about with your friends, people you know etc. a few times a week. (actually I avoid going to parties like the plague - most parties full of under 18s suck so [bleep] much that it ain't even funny. I'm saving the partying for college, and uni if I go.) The biggest problem for me is living in a rural area, away from most of my friends. We really have to plan something if we do go out, which is why it happens so rarely. Most of the time I'm just going outside to do nothing and end up talking to random people in my village whom I know. Still working on getting a job, but like everyone else, I'm having zero success.
