Joe: Intel processors in general tend to run quite hot, at least, from my experience with them. I haven't used anything newer than a Pentium 4 HT though, so don't quote me on anything newer than that. im1knight, the golden rule of overclocking is this: never overclock a prebuilt. A lot of prebuilt computers have limitations to prevent them being overclocked, and also, you're not familiar with the hardware if you buy a prebuilt computer. I'm not calling you stupid or anything, but it would be wise not to overclock a prebuilt computer. I'm not an overclocking expert (I've never done it myself) but OldJoe seems to have some experience with overclocking and such. He would be a good person to ask if you're intent on overclocking. I still don't advocate it at all.

HURR DURR GET FIREFOX. The evangelical attitude of some of you is getting on my nerves. Just because you use Linux, use Firefox or whatever doesn't make you a geek, a techie or anything. Most of the time you're just self-righteous and pretentious. 1) It would be helpful if you did as Dracion1 said and took a speed test. This would determine whether or not your Internet as a whole is laggy, or (and answering part of my second question), if it's just Facebook. 2) Is this problem isolated to Facebook alone or do you have problems with any other sites that make heavy use of scripting for applications, players and such? Other examples would be YouTube and possibly other social networking sites. I can't really think up any more examples at the moment, but if anyone else can, I would be most grateful. 3) Ping Facebook. On either machine, go to Start > Run, and type cmd[Caution: Executable File]. If you've never used cmd before, don't be put off - type: ping www.facebook.com and either take a screenshot of your cmd window or post your results here. If it looks like mine: you are fine. Don't worry if your ping isn't the same as mine; I live in the United Kingdom, and I think Facebook is hosted in America. 4) Just an addendum - are your machines connecting to the Internet through your router/modem using an ethernet cable, or are you using wifi? Just out of curiosity really, because if you use wifi, do you have any connection issues? I'm currently on wifi and I have a few problems with my router's wifi dropping out, but if you have a strong signal and a consistent connection, then you shouldn't worry. 5) Addendum #2: if you do all of this, and it's still slow, do as JoeDaStudd has said and post a screenshot of the specs of both your machines. Hope I could be of any assistance.

You won't really get any better than Wolves in the Throne Room for what they do. You would probably enjoy Drudkh though. Nadril knows more about black metal than me, but I thought I would drop that suggestion anyway. Animal Collective - Peacebone I remember hearing Animal Collective for the first time at 14. I hated it. However, since Merriweather I've liked them somewhat more. Not a favourite by any means, but I like to listen to them once every couple of months or so. At 14 I was also getting into Neutral Milk Hotel and a few other bands, for example, The Mountain Goats. I don't listen to much of that music anymore though.

Life would be better if people didn't jump to conclusions so easily - myself included.

Opeth - Harvest Enjoying some of Blackwater Park. Haven't listened to Opeth properly in quite some time now.

Bro. I've heard The Script every day since they topped the charts here or whatever they did. At first, it was alright, but the more I suffered with it in the car with the radio on, the more and more it grated on me. It's a horrible, whiny piece of music - even more offensive than Kings of Leon. I like pop-rock for the most part, but The Script is just horribly cringeworthy, rageworthy, and not to mention overplayed tripe.

My 22" LCD monitor decided to start working again today. Feels good man; now I can watch 720p video without it taking up my entire screen. Happy days.

A couple about me: - I used to be an exceptional trombonist. I passed my grade 8 a couple of years ago. - I've had a big interest in all forms of music since I was very young. - I used to obsessively watch rugby when I was about 3 or 4.

I can sympathise with this a great deal. I'm a hikki (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hikikomori for the unenlightened); I don't leave my house, hell, I don't even leave my bedroom most days. I do all sorts of crap I regret doing (skipping school, eating too much, not talking to real people) and stuff I dislike myself for (being scared of other people and going outside). I have no 'close' friends - I have a few people I know well, but that's it. The situation at home isn't good either, since some stuff happened about 3 and a bit years ago. I wouldn't use the term "freak" to describe myself - I'm just another one of those people who have just given up on trying to become anything because we don't get anywhere trying to. I think, because I don't socialise well, I enjoy the amount of time I spend here, just doing nothing except posting on message boards, idling on IRC, playing games and listening to music. I was picked on quite harshly until this year really - because I had no clue as to how to stand up for myself. I guess people just got older. I still hate school though, because it holds negative connotations to me. tl;dr hikki loser
