Along with Haruhi and Code Geass, the most overrated anime in existence right there. Those anmes actually deserve an anime fan's attention rather than crap like Naruto or Bleach. Not really. They get enough damned attention as it is. There are lots of things that I think deserve more praise than I see thrown around. Haruhi wasn't bad by any means, but it's just so horrendously overrated. I was actually disappointed with it in parts because my anime friends had hyped it up to the point where I had to just give in and watch it - I'm pleased that I did, because some of it is actually very solid. It's the best series that Kyoto Animation has ever adapted, that's for sure. As for things that I think deserve more praise: Texhnolyze. Sure, I've only watched the first episode of it, but I can already tell it's a masterpiece; hell, anything that Yoshi ABe had any involvement in is a masterpiece. There are some really beautiful series out there tucked away behind all the stuff that's pushed to the majority. However, anime fans are largely blinded by the big shows instead of going on and opening themselves up to things that aren't aimed at a mainstream audience. Then, the anime fans wonder why the average person hates anime when all the person in question has probably watched are shows such as Gurren Lagann, Code Geass, Naruto, Bleach, et cetera. I, for one, am definitely for more people enjoying animated shows as well as non-animated; but when some of the shows that are pushed are incessantly stupid, it's hard for some to enjoy it.
