Great Orb Project - A Night in the Game
A typical w61 regular player gets about 1.2k+ experience per 12-13 minutes IF they win all 6 altars. I wouldn't really recommend using TGOP as a way to get levels fast. It's certainly the slowest way, slower than assisting on w16. Some people get how to play right away, some people take weeks, some take months, and some, they don't get it at all. -pokes Skila- Get 59! On Green!

The insanity, it's escalating! Nice solo Skila. <3 To be honest I don't think Jagex will fix this anytime soon. (Look at the auto-win mind glitch as an example, took them roughly 5 months.) Still there's probably a race to see who will get 100 on air first already. The rough steps to getting 4-6 orb spawns on yellow on air: 1.) Get a skillcape emote that is easy to time. 2.) Spam the skill emote the moment the game starts in the lobby. Doing this will make you stay in the lobby while in a team. 3.) Stop spamming until the air altar is done and you get the message "Waiting for orbs to appear." If you did this right, you will proceed to the air altar twice and you will skip the mind altar. #3 Is the tricky part since the timing must be exact, like "glitching" in players into the game. Jagex can easily fix this though, all they have to do is make the skill emote behave like the rest of the emotes and pull the player into the altar at 3/4.

It's so beautiful. But so illegal! :D

Great Orb Project - A Night in the Game
I witnessed the glitched 6 orbs, and its pretty complicated to do. It involves emotes and going into the air altar twice. :| They got this score: But with this glitch, its extremely possible to get 75+ if not 100 from really fast coord, and yep, its like major bug abuse, but with GOP being so neglected by Jagex lately (glitched attract animation anyone? invisible barriers? puny green orbs?) I doubt they're going to be able to fix this fast. Edit: if a mod feels this collective thread feels as if it fits in the blog area, then feel free to move it there.

Great Orb Project: New Angles..?
Haiiii Andy! You could maybe also point out (Vorltex said it made sense to him more this way) that the orbs' behaviour when the player is standing east basically added +1 square attract range. A good guide, you get an A!

Great Orb Project - A Night in the Game
:o nice score Icy Today's fun 3v3 match resulted in this score: Hulahula, Chris, Billycarrot, Dumbdude, Skila, and me :D I'll be using standard detail more often now because it's easier for me to see and click on green this way.

Great Orb Project: The Attract Wand
Hai Sonic! Erm, I dont think I have the time to add a basic repel section and its a bit more complicated since repel involves taps. Oh yesh, Mod Emilee said this in the forums concerning the strange new angles: "No, it's still in the hands of the Developer." QFC: 74-75-560-59517085 Which basically means theyre going to probably take as long as it took them to fix the air-mind auto win glitch. Which means we wont see anything solid done about it for months. Eep!

Omigod, nice! :D And that's not in a private game too!

Great Orb Project - A Night in the Game
Awww a lot of the old pictures vanished. Reposts please? <3 I gotta update the guide too because mod emilee is taking too long replying on the nerfed angles. Im busy for the months ahead too btw, so I got way less time to play here. No the games I stol-err, borrowed have nothing to do with it. At least I think so. <.< >.> ^.^ V.V

Great Orb Project - A Night in the Game
Omigod. ... ... ... 61 on fire?!? Epic score! (Especially when most of the 60+ scores occurred on air!) Is that from before the updates Gato? --- Pink, a change in pathfinding completely altered the angles for orbs spawning to the west.

Great Orb Project - A Night in the Game
 YAY! Omigoooood this means there is a great chance they'll turn GoP back the way it was! :ohnoes: I'll still put up the new angles (confirmed 3) but now I can hope again! Huzzah! I'm putting my hopes on the return of old angles and not the destruction of the activity bar. Jagex seems to like it. :|

Great Orb Project - A Night in the Game
Hai Saru : Looks like you're playing with Csieagleeye's 5050ers. :ohnoes: Keep in mind that 5050ing should be useful as a place to train your reflex skills and not a way to make easy money, too many people forget that, get greedy and do 5050 all the way, and then get bored of GoP that way because it isn't competitive. There's a thrill to going against an actual team you won't find in cooperative 5050. Anyway, once you think you're ready, go and play in the themed worlds with a partner if you can find one. Forming a 3-4-man team would be even better. Some tips: If you're only going to score with the attract wand, close down the chatbox and the inventory box to allow for more room to click and less camera-tilting. Try playing with the resizeable screen option to increase your line of sight. The 4-cardinal positions (N-S-E-W) hugging the altar are the ideal places to stand. Until I see your style of playing I can't really offer any further tips.

Great Orb Project: The Attract Wand
Hai Qweddy, you got it right! :wall: Raw shots if you want a quick overview, I still have to fire up Gimp (eep, trouble loading it) and edit these with the Pathfinder legend, and there is another shot in particular I need to remember that's not included here: This one I'm not sure of as I can't remember if it's one more or one less spaces than that. All these shots can be mirrored for the northwestern spawns, and western spawns if you stood south. (The east spawns, if you stood south, require the old way in accordance to the Great Divide.) Most important thing is to hold until the orb is between the arches, and then you move back and score it. :ohnoes:

Great Orb Project: The Attract Wand
A quick picture for those regulars who are having some trouble with east. With thanks to Shy Yellow, Sad Hollow, Thor 313, and Xx Skilaxx for essence bombing the air altar since I couldn't make a good grid map. White dot is where you stand. Yellow dots are the key positions from previous lessons. Red dots are the locations of orb spawns. IMPORTANT NOTE: You only need to click once to score these orbs. You do not need to click the ground, click the altar, or break your control from the orb at all. Just click the orb once and let it do the rest. [hide=][/hide] ~ ~ ~ This is all because of what I'm going to call the Great Divide. The Great Divide is a line that runs right down the middle of the north and south arches. This line separates the new ways and the old ways. Orb spawns to the west require new techniques. The east spawns require the old techniques. Basically any orb west of the dividing line involve new ways. This is why, if you stood south, you have to do the new techniques to get western spawns, but are forced to do the old ways when spawns are eastern. [hide=][/hide] I'll incorporate this into the guide once I finish brushing up the rest. It will take me a while. Hope it helps those who are having trouble. The new techniques happened because the east-west orb movement, a fundamental of GoP, has become more emphasized as a rule than before.

Great Orb project Moves.
Hai Old. There's this line dividing the altar between the old ways and the new ways, cutting down right through the middle lane of north and south arches. Basically a lot of the new ways involve straight diagonal lines. For that move you don't need run on. You just need to be diagonal to the orb, hold until it's between the arches, move back a step, and score! \ The orb spawn is from the west, so all it takes is 1 click without letting go and the orb goes in by itself from the north position.

Great Orb Project - A Night in the Game
In light of the new angles, I think I'm going to add a Sept-2-2009 changes to the guide in the style of the Pathfinder section. :ohnoes: There's this interesting dividing line that has the old way and the new way, roughly differences between west spawns and east spawns. Its better if I explain in pictures. Basically there's this split right down the middle lane of north-south pillars that dictates how the orb moves. Spawns to the east are the old way. Spawns to the west are the new way. Think I'll call it the Great Divide.

Great Orb Project: The Attract Wand
It was in beginning guides because I thought I shouldn't put it in General Guides, since most of the stuff in there is already finished. :? This is more or less nearly done.

Great Orb Project - A Night in the Game
5050 works the same as it has always done, except now the 5050ers need to constantly repel or hug their color orb for each altar instead of just touching once, then they go back to afking. That's about it, activity bar didn't do anything to stop it. Meep! :ohnoes:  You can sometimes get the ones who are afk booted off the team by repelling their orb when they hug during 5050s.
-
Great Orb Project - A Night in the Game
:o We don't do 5050s. We don't split tokens at all if we can help it, we'd rather win it all. We play in the themed worlds, w61 and those who are members, in w60. We play to compete.

19 is good on earth :ohnoes: hit the 20s and you'll become as good as certain partnerships, who claim they always hit 20+ as a duo. :o It's hardly a blog. :-# Just a thread for the minigame.
