  1. They arent really feminists then.
  2. does the gmace have potential as a crush weapon? waterfiends are weak to crush right? If so this+a dfs might be a very good set up
  3. you just need to test with void then add the salve ammy to check I do believe they stack
  4. Why are aliens more likely than the occurrence that I've stated though? Both are only known to happen once as far as we know. We can only safely say that I typed that paragraph once and that life popped into existence only once because we only have evidence of them happening one time. because for you to type the paragraph life has to develop and evolve signifigantly as a simple model the odds of getting n consecutive coin flips as heads is given by 1/(2^n), lets call life developing 3 heads in a row and you typing the paragraph the 10th flip the odds of getting to 3 head flips in a row is 1/8, getting 10 heads in a row can only occur if you get 3 heads in a row and since flips 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 have a 1/2 chance each the odds of flip 10 still being heads is much less then the odds of getting to a third flip obviously life developing isnt as simple as a coin flip but the example should show why
  5. actually the only empirical reason god shouldnt exist is that we have never observed something disobeying the laws of physics, and that isnt proof that its impossible. You will never have proof of god, and you will never have disproof because the claim of god exists (generally) implies the existence of something beyond empirical observation. This line of reasoning is a leading factor in the growth of agnosticism, I can point to a logical flaw in any religion given time to study their texts and belief system, but there is no logical flaw in believing that its possible for something to exist that doesnt obey what we know as the laws of physics. Secondly, there are quite a few books that say god exists not sure why you are claiming one. Quran, Bible, Torrah(if we wish to differentiate between judaism and christianity), Buddhist texts(Buddhism does believe in gods correct?) and if I wish to get technical any book that involves religions which have a god.
  6. the thing is, no matter what the punishment they will still be annoyed if they get reported for a typo, and I doubt there is any typo that would take text from non reportable to a mute
  7. wow ive only read two of those (Huck Finn and Beowolf) In fairness I have to advise Beowolf since its the only one I have read, and it seems like you are asking this for some type of project I have heard good things about slaughterhouse 5 though so make of that what you will.
  8. maybe not in the direct sense, but Im sure a few car accidents caused by the smoking of marijuana have killed people. Noone has ever died from the pulling of a gun trigger, but what the trigger caused has killed them etc. Such a good waste of tax money we cause by keeping this illegal. Stuff that is truly destructive to your body should remain illegal but marijuana is on the same "level" of harmfulness as alcohol and cigarretes which are both legal, and marijuana has been shown to have various useful purposes which cigarretes dont(removing pain)
  9. the thing is, there are very few if any cases in which Ive muted someone for something that could have been a typo.
  10. only thing is how can you reduce their power while keeping them mods? just curious I agree totally though, mods are already told not to just run in and report. If a situation warrants a mute instantly I usually just deal with it, if there is any doubt as to how offensive it is I usually wait for them to talk again.
  11. how is it at all belittiling to think there is some divine being behind the universe? The universe is truly an amazing place, and whether it be created by the laws of physics or the hand of god its still just as interesting.
  12. its never been recorded, but its possible it happened and was missed. If the woman was married and trying to get pregnant, miscarriages etc. plenty of ways it could have happened without being noticed
  13. How does god existing make life any more meaningful? Because you believe you'll get a reward in an afterlife? Because you need some cosmic father figure to feel significant? If god doesn't exist then we still have something to live for, and that's life in the here and now. Life should be reward enough, especially so if it's the only one we have. We all have hopes and dreams to make something of ourselves, to be surrounded with good people and to enjoy all that life has to offer. We all have things that are meaningful to us and dreams that drive us. Life is not meaningless without god. I agree entirely, I was just saying that some people need/want there to be something afterdeath. In a way it makes it more meaningful because your life will have a purpose other then its effect on the human race. Living for the fun of it and to help the human race is enough for me, some people just want their to be a higher meaning.
  14. I personally can't understand how one can believe in something that can't be understood. How do religions answer those questions? So far I've only gathered from them, that our purpose here is to wait for the armageddon to begin. #-o Atheism's asnwer is simple (or if it isn't atheism's answer, it is my own): There is no purpose. And it is ok that way. I agree with the rest I think :( Faith is faith, its just a longing for their to be some greater purpose taking on some form. If you dont understand it you dont understand it religions tell some story as to why we are here, and guide people through their lives. If there isnt any higher power then nihilism is entirely accurate, and a lot of people dont like to just throw in the towel and say everything is meaningless.
  15. that slide show was pointless imo yes, we dont have the exacts of the big bang figured out yet, so what? Good science takes time, and we cant exactly make a model to study this type of thing. The reason God doesnt work in scientific research is that he/it simply defies physical laws. Just introducing an unprovable god and saying he did it is useless to science because it doesnt allow for explanation, I dont care if god did something, I want to know how he did it. We can of course debate philosophical matters such as if god cause the big bang, and its quite an interesting topic to discuss. Certain scientific facts have been entirely proven, there are of course gaps such as how life spontaneously generated and specifics around the big bang but science will always move forward. Eventually, science will be able to explain nearly every single detail, and it will get closer and closer as time moves on. Settling for "god did it" limits what humanity is truly capable of, by hunting for the hows and whys of the universe we see the divine beauty that is science. When I look up at the stars I see something more beautiful then a universe made by god, I see a near infinite expanse that we can understand through math, and a scope beyond the human mind that could not even be imagined just a few centuries ago. on a side note the core of christian morality (10 commandments and love thy neighbor as theyself) are a very good moral code to abide by. Im agnostic and have no problem with religion, my complaints come about when fundamentalists try to explain things through a model that ignores any factor that disagrees with it.
  16. Albert Einstein said calling him agnostic was the most accurate if you had to label him. His model of god is more of god as a force like gravity or magnetism, but calling him an atheist is horribly inaccurate. Believing there to be something (literaly) divine in the learning and understanding of the nature of the universe is not atheism. I like to think I can begin to understand what Einstein believed here, and from what ive read of various quotes he did believe in something beyond; maybe not a god per se but maybe the presence of what we would call god even if the being doesnt exist. and personal god means god in the form of a deity, which does not cover all models of god
  17. Er. He was still Jewish. He just preached the Old Testament differently. Christianity is nearly just Judaism believing Jesus to be the savior of humanity, in its most basic form. Considering how often He preached against being that damn sure of yourself, I really believe He didn't die for His own sins. I think Jesus's critiques of the jewish leadership at the time are too harsh to call him jewish. Similair to Martin Luther not being Catholic even though he followed the same core belief system
  18. thouht guys liked [bleep]s. no, just no well, decent guys dont
  19. is not being a [bleep] a characteristic? That would be an extremely important one, somewhat intelligent, open minded, fun.
  20. which means we only have free will when he wants it, so its not really free.
  21. [hide=] he would be a christian, a follower of his own beliefs Karl Marx was a marxist, Confucious was a Confucionist(spelling) etc. Well, he was a Christian in the end, but he was raised as a Jew. [/hide] my parents are catholics and I self identify as an agnostic. If you consider me agnostic then you must consider Jesus a christian
  22. he would be a christian, a follower of his own beliefs Karl Marx was a marxist, Confucious was a Confucionist(spelling) etc.
  23. sporadic thought is it logical to assume jesus was fairly attractive? I mean people that are good orators and gain followings have a tendency to look "good". edit--BC and AD have a different meaning, they have taken on before and after over time(I forget the name)
  24. I am alreadly questioning the christian god's morality, how is this any different if he appeared? Assuming the christian god were to appear I demand he explain soddom and ghamorran(horrible spelling), how was it not interfering with free will when he flattened two cities just because they were sinful? How was it not interfering with free will when god flooded the earth and wiped out everyone except those who he chose to live(noah)? When god crumbled the walls of jericho was it not interfering with the natural choice of Joshua to attack, with walls that city would have survived. etc. If god doesnt intefere with free will then why are there so many examples of him interfering with free will. Unless you wish to deny the great flood, soddom, and parting of the red sea(promising aid to refugees interferes with their choice to flee) then god has already impeded free will.
  25. dark arab idk why just first thing that came to mind after reading question lol
