Wasn't there a study that proved Technician was better 70% of the time with multi hitting moves? I'm not entirely sure about it though...

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
I hear ya dude. I kinda gravitated towards him and have been using him online. 10 wins 2 losses so far. I hate Akuma abusers, I truly do. I also got down the EX variants. Eat it Ken, EX Sonic Boom overrides your hadoukens. I've not yet tried the online that much, but i'll probably start doing so. Btw, which attacks do you keep on the touch screen? I use ex Sonic Boom, Sonic Boom, Flash kick and Ultra.

@ previous posts: sorry if i use japanese name, I've been using them for what, 4 months now? The habit makes the monk... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO blaziken is banned. I have no idea how did that thing survive two rounds of testing. The only counter it has is Slowbro, everything else gets KO'd by it's 130,120 STABS and Shadow Claw. I just hope D-S and Latios aren't banned next round, they really shouldn't, they have enough checks to be great but not overpowered.

Jellicent sucks. Yes, it has that type combo resistence with nattorei, but really, it is just too frail to take on dangerous sweepers. Hell, nattorei 2 shots it without any att investments with power whip. The worst thing it can do is burn you really. Tentacruel is much better, has the same combo with Nattorei and can do way more in the form of rapid spin, Toxic Spikes, decent SpA and Decent Speed. After the 5th gen hype dies down, Tentacruel will come back at full force. You know one mon who is powerwull as all hell? Hihidaruma. He one shot my kingdra (trying a new team) with CB flare Blitz in sun. oh, btw, it was a 252hp, 252Att kingdra. Yep, One shot... Kingdra... with Flare Blitz.

The 3DS is Here!
I made some tests last night: 3D off, wifi off, sound in max and brightness max with energy saving on, the battery lasted for 6 hours played SSF4. I heard it lasts around 8-9 hours with DS titles in the same conditions, but i can only compare that next week.

I've tried zoro before, and it's really hit or miss, mostly miss due to hazards. You know it's odd when the oponents doryuuzu suddenly gets full SR damage or switch in kingdra on your nattorei.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
Perfecting my guile techniques in SSF4 3DS  Man, flash kicks and sonic booms are so easy to pull of thanks to the touch screen, i almost feel cheap

I've been using a mixnape of mine on Pokemon online, man does it completely rape. I use a +speed,-def nature, with 200 SpA, 252SpE, 56Att with LO Overheat, Close Combat, U-Turn and hidden power ice, and it just tears things apart. I particulary like to CC and U-Turn at first, to lure their gliscor, and then nail it with hidden power.

The 3DS is Here!
Finally, after months and months of waiting, the 3DS is finally here. Well, at least in Europe. So, I've been tinkering with it since 11:00 am to 3:00 pm GMt time, and here is what I've gathered so far: -The battery life is, as expected, pretty bad. I've not yet ran complete comparisons, as it is charching right now, but the battery life is drasticly improved with the Wifi turned off (really really noticeable), and will extend a bit more once you turn the 3D off, but the 3D off didn't extend as much as the wifi off. -The 3D is really amazing. Your eyes take 1-2seconds to adapt, but once they do be prepared for a treat. You can't shake the console a lot, but it's not like you would anyways. It really adds to some games (mostly pilotwings which i got to try in the store, and i feel star fox will be just stunning when it arrives), and to others it's just a very cool effect (SSF4 for example). -The bundled software is also pretty decent. Face raiders is a bit tacky, and be prepared to have some odd looks if you play that in public, but the AR games are really great. -The mii maker is hilarious, in a sense it never gets your face right if you use the inner camera. If you are not happy with the result, just add a few improvements manually. -I didn't get to try online, i was too busy raging at M-Bison and his cheapness. So yeah, it's pretty impressive.I personally only got to buy SSF4, but I should buy Pokemon black and either Rayman or Splinter Cell next week, after i get my pay check. I'd definatly reccomend buying one for three reasons: It has a few great titles in the horizon; It won't drop price anytime son (my parents, who loathe videogames, were fascinated with the mii maker and 3D in general, the "casual" crowd will eat this up); and to top it off, if you buy one now you get the lauch promotions, i got mine as a gift from a recent scolarship, but my parents did get it with 10% discount and 50% discount on the first game i buy, plus a free bag à la GBA. It's definatly not perfect, and i'll be looking forward for a better battery life (i think nikyo is planning one), but if you are into the games that were announced, it's fine as it is. Just remember to turn the wifi off. Should you have any questions about it, feel free to ask in the comments below. Now if you excuse me, it has finished charging  Remember to visit us, TET, on our weekly events and boss hunts. Who knows, maybe you'll be hooked to us :P ~Demoli

Gamecube General
Phendrana was great, but i think the reason it didn't get stuck in my head was the lack of Phendrana in End Game. You'd Visit it once for the artifacts and that was it. Plus, just listen! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQCZIb0fbt8 That coir is amazing.

Yeah, SSBmelee was the [cabbage] back in the day. But THE gamecube game was Metroid Prime, closely followed by WW and Ikaruga. Man, that magmoor caverns theme is still in my head.

But then again, as you said, excavalier isn't doing much besides knock off or SD up hoping to muscle through his various resists. At least scizor is somewhat helpfull outside of Reuniclues, that BP hurts as much as it did last gen. What really [bleep]ed Scizor up was, surprisingly, Natto.. I'm sorry, Ferrothorn *shrudders*. How you ask? Since Ferrothorn is such a good wall, everything must run a fire move, and that means more hidden power fires on Latios and the like. That means Scizor is pretty much OHKO'd by most of the metagame now.

I'll also be waiting out to buy a Gen V game, i was going to buy black when buying a 3DS, but due to recent findings of the system's memory I'll wait it out for either a) a killer game made for it, either Star Fox remake, RE or Kid Ikarus or B ) wait til a new iteration comes out witha bigger batery life. Competitivly, I've swapped my specslos for a CB Scizor and my Physical nape is not Mixnape with Overheat, HPice, u-turn and close combat, really great. I'll also add that Scizor is one of the best counters for Rankuruso. A friend of mine did a match with me, and in a certain time he sent is ranku (100% health) into my mixnape, while i u-turned (around 25% damage) to scizor. Scizor then proceeded to KO Ranku with U-Turn. It was a 252/252 +def variant he said.

I'm not sure if a console whose life cycle ended around 4 years ago deserves it's own thread. Besides, what are we really supposed to be discussing here? I'm kinda confused

Erm, you are talking about Gen IV or Gen V? Because i haven't seen a single Smeargle since the end of round 1 on the Smogon PO server.

Like four side king said, OU, UU and NU are tiers in the competitive scene. GenV tiers are not yet set on stone. NU are the worst of the worst, UU is those who aren't exactly bad, but are held back by more power full mons, and OU is the metagame, where all the strong pokemons battle. Ubers is the last tier, and is for those pokemons who are so much more powerfull than OU mons. CM is calm mind, SD is swords dance, RP is rock polish and SR is stealth rock. Those are the main abreviations. Moving one, i've had trouble dealing with stall on my new team, any suggestions? (check the RMT i linked for in deph of the team).

Pokemon Thread
Yeah, this generation a lot more teamwork and synergy is required, therefore a lot of NU and UU are used a lot more. It's really interesting to analyse other people's teams too. And sorry to burst your bubble, but Manaphy was voted uber in round two. With permanent rain now in OU, he was just too overpowered with his bulky CM set. and he could also go for a bulkish cannon form with the new Tail Glow mechanics. Manaphy didn't belong in OU with temporary rain let alone with Drizzle on toad.

The formula in this demotivational should help.

Mmm, i might try that Terakion. I've tried it before in a double screens team and found it quite good, even without SS support for the boosted SpD. About Gyarados, i'm having trouble coming up with the fourth slot in my set, (DD, Waterfall, Earthquake so far), Nattorei is a big problem to gyarados though, and apart from bounce it really has nothing on it i guess :/.
