  1. You've got a point there, psychic types really saw a resurgeance, and i ain't liking it. I have no ghost or dark poke's in my team (even though i have 4 resists in teh form of nattorei, jirachi, heatran and starmie) and sometimes theya re a pain to get rid of. Specially shinpora and her psycho shift or whatnot. And aparently, Drizzle and manaphy are undergoing suspect testings. Manaphy will undoubtly be banned and i hope drizzle too. Rain teams are a pain to defeat, and while those who just use polidrizzle+5 ramdom sweepers are maneagable, others that put more thought into their team are, frankly, impossible to defeat. I've once seen a team of Toad+DDDra+Ludi+Toxicroak, Nattorei and Latios and was a massacre. When i finally was able to take down that friggin Toad i was only left with hippowdon, Landlos and Rachi. Hippowdon fell shortly after (i needed to eliminate the weather), only to realise his ludi had rain dance one turn after it went down. And i don't get why people put Sand on the Same boat as Rain. Sand has 2 decent abusers, Dory and Landlos, while rain has practicly half or more the water type pantheon. Dory is killed by priority and a lot of common pokes, Landlos is easily taken down by any super effective move and is neutral to rocks. Sandstorm teams always share weakneses to water and ice, both very common types with reliable moves and users. Rain teams have, literally, no weaknesses. Kingdra has a single weakness to dragon type which can be solved not only by nattorei but by himself, since he can dish powerfull outrages. Ludicolo has 2 weaknesses, flying and bug, both very rare offensive typings apart from u-turn and acrobat. I can't wait for rain to be banned, ir eally can't. Maybe chomp will go after (or even better, the lati twins).
  2. Wouldn't you be better of with a Machamp in that case? I mean, loosing knock off is kind of bad, but machamp mroe then makes up for it. Machamp, along with other like Starmie, Garchomp (which i can't wait to be banned), Lati brothers (same boat as chomp) and skarmory haven't aged a bit, and still do their job without much interruption.
  3. I take from that that you're doing well, have you tried zuruzukin yet? Or have you found another guy for your team?
  4. [hide]After you get the troll's help, where do you find Veldaban? Disregard, i found them.[/hide] Man, this was quite a disapointment. The final twist could be seen half a mile away, hte boss was a joke and they could have expanded way more into [hide]troll alliance, [/hide] everything seemed to have reached the status quo like the second quest left us in, really really hoping for more.
  5. Try a zuruzukin, they are also quite bulky, and have three amazing abilities (Moxie, Intimidate and Shed Skin). Plus, access to two other amazing set up moves (Bulk Up and Dragon Dance). Not only that, but it gets two increadible stabs, Dark and Fighting. If you are willing to try a sandstorm team, doryuzzu is obviously strong after a sd (and very fast), but landlos takes the cake. While not 400 speed fast, he ahs the trolliest speed of 101, and sand power, which gives earthquake on sandstorm and LO boost a increadible base power (OHKOs 0/252 nattorei and 252/252 if it has spikes).
  6. If thats your play style, then stick to it. Before i settled down with my team i tried a miriad of other techniques and failed miserably with almost all of them. Although i might suggest having at least 2 usable sweepers in yourt eam. I personally use Starmie and Landlos, but i guess Ranku can use both with psycho shock and Psychic.
  7. I think people realised this metagame is more about team synergy rather than checks, hence once you start messing with your team to find your perfect defensive core and the attacking combo that you like best, you start noticing that most threats arent that broken and are easily countered by your regular pokes and some prediction. Whats your team and pokes that give you most trouble?
  8. Heatran's already a good poke, great typing and coverage, and can set up rocks. Plus, he has good stats to top it all. Oh, Magma storm is awesome on heatran, specially if you also have a pursuiter/wanna trap someone. I can't believe how many people use FB over it, yet it's only slightly more accurate. I can be just lucky though.
  9. Congratulations guys, make sure you open the beer sellar again :P
  10. V-Generate will probably be released along with the next movie, since the event victini didn't get it. V-Generate will sigle handedly elevate Sun Teams to an whole new level. Lets make the calcs. 180 base power, which gets stab, which turns into 270 base power. That alone makes it the strongest move in the game apart from stab selfdestruct/explosion. Now, sun also multiplies this by 1.5, which turns it to, lets see, 270+135=405 base power. Add a choice band and use adamant nature and you have, quite simply, the strongest move in the game. Boy, victine will bea beast (plus, his ability makes sure the move won't fail). Also, lets organize a 5th gen tournment, it's about time.
  11. Portal 2 won't be an exclusive I'm fairly sure. But still, I am looking forward to it greatly as well. I second this. Portal 2 is coming to the PS3, xbox 360 and PC. Plus, i also think Dragon Age 2 will also be for the 360, but i'm not sure about that.
  12. Definatly agree, Monster Hunter Tri, specially on online. Taking down a 20 feets behemoth is always satisfying. Are the servers still up and the community still around? I've stopped playing it around september  And i just read here someone suggested Red Steel 1. Like Valeyard said, it's an awefull mess, the second is the "real" red steel.
  13. Super Mario Galaxy (either one or two are great games) Red Steel2 Zelda Twilight Princess Metroid Prime Trilogy A Shadow's Tale SSB Brawl. These are the "essentials", but there quite a few more. Either way it's up to personal preference.
  14. Maybe not ten, but my favourite games of 2010 are: A shadow's Tale Not out in the US yet (i think), this game is pure genious. Increadbile atmosphere, a story reminiscent of team ico games, outstanding art directions, 30-40 hours long and has some devilish concieved puzzles, would definatly cut my top 25 list if it was out sooner  Donkey Kong Country Returns I never knew what nostalgia was until DKCR showed it to me. It's increadibly hard later on and has a god multiplayer to boot. Really awesome. Limbo Great atmosphere, good gameplay, awesome layouts and all around a good experience. Super Mario Galaxy 2: Platformer perfected, even if that seems hard considering it's predecessor (which i still regard in higher grounds). Assassins Creed Brotherhood: I've always wanted an AC online, when AC was out i was weary at first, since it was the first time i was so itchy to try an online feature. Thankfully it worked out, and i love it. Epic Mickey I don't know why so many people felt disapointed by it, i mean, it's definatly not perfect (the camera is a real pain), but it features good gameplay, apart form the mention camera issues, great story and some good fan service, both for disney fans and videogame fans in general (i've actually found a zelda reference early on) Mass Effect 2: While i don't know why people say this is an RPG, since it kinda feels more like a third person shooter. Regardless of what it is, it's awesome, can't wait for number 3 next year. I just hoep they don't slap in an unnecessary multiplayer. Red Steel 2 You are a samurai in the old west firing rifles wih explosing bullets against chaingun wielding ninjas. Tatsunoko vs Capcom/SSF4 Both great fighting games, one is more over the top, the other is more classic. I really can't find the better one. Side Note: While i bought Super Meat Boy on steam, my PC can't handle it aparently. so yeah, no very hard platformer for me until next year, donkey kong aside.
  15. God erufuun was a disaster for me, i droped to 4k ranks and such. Bt i think i found a new partner, replaced celebi for a jirachi with twave, trick, wish and iron head (i'm kind weary of this one, any replacement suggestion?). It is kinda working, and it doesn't rely much on flinch. Plus, he's a good wish passer. (20:08:57) +RankingBot: Your rank in Wifi is 500/19380!
  16. I see, can erufuun sponge special hits and learn stun spore/twave? cause paralisis helps me a lot more than toxic, so landlos can set up an sd instead of rock polish. (im writing this on a cell phone, sorry for the format)
  17. I'm trying a: Celebi@Choice Scarf Calm 252SpD, 104HP, 152Def -Trick -Leech Seed -Thunder Wave -Heal Bell While it is doing its job (forcing switches and paralysing a lot), i still need a betetr move set, any suggestions? 18. (13:25:59) +RankingBot: Your rank in Wifi is 871/18506! I think i'm starting to understand this gen better. While gen 4 was all about checks (like, you wanted a starmie/ice shard user to coutner dragons, Jirachi for Scizor, etc), this gen is much more about team building and offensive duos and such. In any case, here's my team so far: [hide] Heatran (Ellebrayals)@Shuca Berry Modest 156Def, 252SpA, 100 Spe -Magma Storm -Stealth Rock -Earth Power -Dragon Pulse The regular Shuca Heatran with stealth rock nudged in it and the EV's tinkered. Magma Storm is for trappin a Choiced earth attack so i can pass to another member to set up on it. Stealth rock is stealth rock and Earth power is for other heatrans. Dragon pulse is for the ocasional dragon. It mostly a disruptive poke that forces a lot of switches and racks up healthy damage. Hippowdon (Jannet)@Leftovers Impish 252HP, 100Att, 156Def -Stealth Rock -Ice Fang -Earthquake -Slack Off Sets up sandstorm and rocks. It is quite bulky and sets up rocks without a nasty weakness to fighting (which my team is very weak to). Nothing much to say really. Ice Fang is for Dragons and Gliscor and Slack off is for recovery and leech seed stalling. Randorosu (John Cleese)@Life Orb Adamant 4HP, 252Att, 252 Spe -Earthquake -Knock Down -Swords Dance -Rock Polish A double dance set made by me. Max Speed and Att for sweeping potential, adamant and life orb allow maximum damage without getting locked into one single move. Earthquake reaches a ludicrous power even without swords dance (2HKO'ing every single physical wall apart from levitating/Flying ones. Knock down is a middle finger to ghosts trying to switch in and i can follow up with an earthquake. The crux is the double boost setting. If i have spread enough paralisis, I will swords Dance. Otherwise, i simply rock polish, since most poke's are OHKO'd by earthquake. If they switch into an wall that does nothing to you (Nattorei without LS, thunderwave blissey), i just swords dance for 2+ on Att and Spe. This guy is really a beast. Nattorei (Beyblade)@Leftovers Impish 100HP, 252Def, 156 SpD -Power Whip -Thunder Wave -Leech Seed -Spikes Sets up hazards, paralyses a lot of stuff and leech seed forces switches.. Shame it has no viable form of recovery, even sythesis would be allright (not on my team, but atleast it would be there). It walls a ton of stuff, specially rain teams, and leech seed is just amazing. If i manage to paralise and leech seed a set upping poke, i set up spikes and try to finish it with Power Whip. The paralisis is what shines though. It allows my Randodoru to set up freely. Uxie (TinkerBell)@Choice Scarf Carefull 100HP, 104Att, 104Def, 200SpD -Trick -Thunder Wave -Yawn -U-Turn Trick a wall or Set Upper (It usualy outspeeds base 100's), thunder wave the switch in, yawn a ground type if you see it coming (or a set upper). U-Turn is to at least get soem damage on a taunt user and a reliable scout. This is my only speciall wall (well, this and nattorei). I really need a better EV spread, any suggestions? Starmie (Rupee)@Life Orb Timid 252SpA, 252Spe, 4 HP -Rapid Spin -Surf -Ice Beam -Thunderbolt It's Starmie. A good revenge killer, BoltBeam and Rapid Spinning [/hide] So, any suggestions for improvement? Edit: Yep, levitate user+ Heatran + Nattorey creates a very good defensive core: Battle log below. 19. I find Genosect very predictabe, since it's always scarfed. I can't remember how many times i paybacked a ghost/psychic poke on the switch in. I want a tank that is also able to screw around the oponent team. Being able to dish out a decent SpA hit is also appreciated, since currently only Starmie cna dish out SpA moves. Uxie@Choice with trick, twave and u-turn can annoy, but i'm still loosing a lot.
  20. I'm looking for a special sponge for my team. Burungel doesn't coexist with ti very well and if i make a bulky rankuruso it has to be on the physical side. I'm using an Uxie@Choice Scarf with Trick, Heal Bell (replaceable), U-Turn and Thunder Wave. Evs are: 100 HP, 104 Att, 104 Def, 200 SpD. Carefull nature. It can do some wrecking in Wifi: Start with him, people expect rocks, i trick them a choice scarf as they set up, thunderwave the switch in and U-Turn the hell out of there. It kinda works, but i hope i can fidn better, any suggestion?

Well, from this calculator i got these results: [hide] Adamant LO Randorosu vs Physical and bulky Hippo: Randorosu@Life Orb (Sand Power) (252 EVs, +Nature) Earthquake vs Hippowdon@Leftovers (Sand Stream) (252/252 EVs, +Nature): 45 ~ 53% (189 ~ 223 HP) (Sandstorm) Randorosu@Life Orb (Sand Power) (252 EVs, +Nature) Earthquake vs Hippowdon@Leftovers (Sand Stream) (252/0 EVs, +Nature): 55,2 ~ 65,2% (232 ~ 274 HP) (Sandstorm) Standart Yache Set vs Physic/Special Hippo Randorosu@Yache Berry (Sand Power) (252 EVs, Neutral Nature) Earthquake vs Hippowdon@Leftovers (Sand Stream) (252/0 EVs, +Nature): 38,8 ~ 45,9% (163 ~ 193 HP) (Sandstorm) Randorosu@Yache Berry (Sand Power) (252 EVs, Neutral Nature) Earthquake vs Hippowdon@Leftovers (Sand Stream) (252/252 EVs, +Nature): 31,6 ~ 37,3% (133 ~ 157 HP) (Sandstorm) Choice Scarf Rando vs Physical/Special Hippo: Randorosu@Choice Scarf (Sand Power) (252 EVs, +Nature) Earthquake vs Hippowdon@Leftovers (Sand Stream) (252/252 EVs, +Nature): 34,5 ~ 40,9% (145 ~ 172 HP) (Sandstorm) Randorosu@Choice Scarf (Sand Power) (252 EVs, +Nature) Earthquake vs Hippowdon@Leftovers (Sand Stream) (252/0 EVs, +Nature): 42,3 ~ 50,2% (178 ~ 211 HP) (Sandstorm) [/hide] Now, take in mind that both Adamant LO and Yache set, even though they have swords dance in teh moveset, the calc didn't have any option to add in boosts. But even without those boosts, Adamant LO Rando will always 2HKO Special hippo and has a fair chance to 2HKO Physical hippo, and a 100% change to KO it after SR and 1 layer of spikes. So, as you can imagine, if you have 2-3 layers of spikes (or toxic spikes/SR on top of that) a +2 Adamant LO Rando would KO hippo straightforward, and unless it had Ice fang it can't do much besides roar or Slack Off. Just as a reference, here's Ice Fang's damage: [hide]Hippowdon@Leftovers (Sand Stream) (0 EVs, Neutral Nature) Ice Fang vs Randorosu@Life Orb (Sand Power) (4/0 EVs, Neutral Nature): 70 ~ 83,7% (224 ~ 268 HP) (Sandstorm)[/hide]
  24. I'd swap roobushin for a Gliscor. Benefits from sandstorm and is possibly the greatest counter to Doryuzzu aside from Landlos. Use that set you sugeested my a few pages ago. Earthquake/Taunt/Knock Off/Roost Shuts dwn or out stalls many things. Just watch out for the ocasional HP ice. Also, you might wana place Ono/Chomp as a lead. Tear up some holes first then set up rocks and sand. This also brings the advantage of taking down the oponent weather inducer early on. Landlos is also a good choice apart from dory. While he may not be blitzing fast, Sand Power gives him such a tremendous power after a Swords Dance that it can even 2HKO 252/252 impish Nattorei. Plus, he's not that frail, and can usually survive a non Ice attack easily. Also if you are using Espeon on a more defesive role, why not Xatu? Also has mirror guard and screens, and a much richer support pool (bar baton pass i think). Those are just my two cents though
  25. I friggin hate those things, without a crit from stone edge or stalling it out with paralisis i can't take it down ;~; Also, i'm starting to love starmie. So many people understimate it, and then end up being mauled by it. Specially late game  (12:14:06) +RankingBot: Your rank in Dream World is 657/19795!
