  1. So, i need a replacement for that DD Onono. While it sometimes does okay (and some times he's a friggin beast, it OHKOs Gliscor at +1 with rivalry), he just isn't up to par. Currently trying mence, but it doesn't shine either. I need a set up sweeper fort hat role. Any suggestions? (just one nitpick please, don't suggest vulcarona, It'd require a spinner, and my team doesn't have that much problems with hazards yet.)
  2. I know it's a DS game, but i, for reasons beyond my current understanding (most likely peer pressure from my basic school years), i bought a psp instead, so for me to play Pokemon Black (reshiram <3) i'll have to wait for the 3DS. And don't worry, you will really not see a single oldy until the after game.
  3. Yeah, i'm unable to play pokemon until get a 3DS, i already know my team though: Samurott, galvantula, krookodile, Hihidaruma, Scrafty and either Golurk or Leavanny. In the competitive scene, i've returned to PO, only to find my user reset <.< Changed my team, i now use: [hide] Aloe (Rotom-W) @ Choice Specs Trait: Levitate EVs: 56 HP / 252 SAtk / 200 SDef Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Volt Change - Hydro Pump - Trick - Shadow Ball Beyblade (Nattorei) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Iron Barbs EVs: 100 HP / 252 Def / 156 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Power Whip - Stealth Rock - Thunder Wave - Leech Seed ColinFirth (Gliscor) (M) @ Toxic Orb Trait: Poison Heal EVs: 152 HP / 52 Atk / 252 Def / 52 Spd Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Taunt - Ice Fang - Swords Dance Penelope (Garchomp) (F) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Sand Veil EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def) - Fire Blast - Earthquake - Outrage - Facade Hax'r'us (Ononokusu) (M) @ Yache Berry Trait: Rivalry EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Dragon Dance - Outrage - Earthquake - Brick Break Megaman (Latios) (M) @ Choice Specs Trait: Levitate EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Trick - Surf - Draco Meteor - Hidden Power [Fire] [/hide]
  4. Boooooo, they changed the title music, what was wrong with the original RS music? :( I really enjoyed the quest though, it still exhibits one major flaw, it leaves you in the dark completely. It's not bad for a quest/game to leave you in the dark, but at least drop a hint or two, even with the book i had to look around a bit more to find out the second puzzle's procedure. Elemental armour also needs a good stat boost, it's just ridiculously weak compared to... anything and it takes an unreasonable ammount of time to make the full set.
  5. Finished Final Fantasy 6, would easily move it to number 3 on my best games list now i replayed it again, it still keeps the charm and i actually found more tidbits of history this time around (Shadow's story in particular). Now lookin for another RPG to play, any suggestions? It can be everything but Chrono Trigger, or any other DS RPG, i'm DS-less til the 3DS comes out (plus, my R... magic DS isn't working well lately).
  6. In honour of your pimpoleon, I've also recently tested, to great success, an awesome shedinja set: S0u1E4t3r, Eater of Souls Killer nature 252Doom, 252 Fear, 4 Chance to run Life Orb -Double Edge -Death Gambit -Sandstorm -Harden EV's are so your oponent can die of fear instantly by seeing this set! Double edge demolishes any kind of wall with Life orb helping it out, as if it needed! Death Gambit makes your oponent play russian roulet... with a sniper! Sandstorm traps your enemy into a cage of fear who can't be broken! After the deed is done, harden is for the afterparty with other female shedinjas. . . . . . You're better at this
  7. Decided to take a break from Pokemon online and play Final Fantasy 6 again, still awesome
  8. Dangerous Clan vs Clan still has it uses, but dangerous FFa is pretty useless considering there are already high risk wildy worlds. I'm all for the removal
  9. I see, point taken, but just one little remark: At least with my nattorei, Doryuuzu and Rando, both LO'd, adamant and at+2, NEVER KO natorei from full health, i can always survive to either Power Whip the Balloon(Doryuuzu) or leech seed to limit their sweep (Rando, but rando is easy to handle). Well, my team is still at the same spot, i can't find matches in smogon and in PO i'm trying an antimetagame poke, Dusclops with skill swap. Oh man, doryuuzu, reuniclus and Gliscor love soooooo much loosing their abilities
  10. Still, nattorei can block most of the rain abusers, has his fire weakness halved and can easily beat Dugtrio with a power whip unless it has taken a lot of punishment.
  11. Round 3 of bans has started and the discussion thread is open, man from recent battles i hope Doryuzzu goes to ubers on this one, he is just too strong. Landlos won't be banned for sure, the glitch did have a huge difference in it's power. Before i could OHKO nattorei at +2 with SS boosted EQ, now it always survives, seeding me and limiting my sweep. On Latios, i really don't know. Everyone seems to have a pursuit user so it's really hard to play him around, and if the other team has a tyranitar, yeah, your latios ain't going no where fast. Doryuzzu on the other hand, requires a lot of thinking ahead, and when the other team has other various threats you just can't keep up. Also, i really feel what 4-moveslot syndrome is now: My jirachi would be way better with an extra moveslot: Wish, t-wave, Iron head and trick are good, but I'd love an extra slot for Hidden power water or Fire Blast.

Lost in Shadow/ A shadow's tale is a really great game aswell, even if it's pacing is a bit awkward. Other than that, nothing really springs to mind. Panzer Dragoon and Shantae are also good but relatively unknown.
  13. Isn't this already included in the "Which games are you currently playing" thread?
  14. Well dang! I've been focusing on my Scarf Chomp+ SD Landlos and it works awesomely! First i was just screwing around, trying a new team on smogon for a change (since the PO server is filled with rain teams), then i rememebred to check my ranking. 15. 1) Even though Blissey has crappy Defence stat (lol, 10), her HP is so freaking huge it can tank some hits with 252/252 impish/any other defence boosting nature. Her SpA tankign rights are beyond amazing. 2)Blissey also gets toxic and T-Wave, and as you said a better healing move in the form of softboiled and wish. And do not forget Aromatherapy/Heal Bell, which cures your entire team of status (and is often my doom since i play a lot with paralisis). Plus they get Natural cure, a boon for a defensive wall. 3) Agreed, even though versitality isn't only that. Blissey can survive a pursuit if she's at full health. If Tyra comes in on the Wish, she can protect and change next turn. Really, the only advantage Cresselia has over Blissey is her higher Def stat and Levitate, while Blissey has aromatherapy and, most importantly, reliable recovery. Sure, there you go. [hide]Team Overview In Depth Eadgar (Hippowdon) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Sand Stream EVs: 188 HP / 160 Atk / 160 Def Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Stealth Rock - Ice Fang - Slack Off Hippowdon is my usual lead, he sets up rocks and sandstorm and can take hits quite well. Slack Off is recovery of course, EQ is for stab and Ice Fang is for those pesky dragons. I've tinkered with tyranitar for a while, but i ended choosing Hippo due to better defences and more durability. Primadonna (Jirachi) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Serene Grace EVs: 200 HP / 56 Def / 252 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Thunder Wave - Wish - Trick - Iron Head Rachi is my backup lead. Trick cripples walls such as Blissey, Burungero and Skarmory who think they can come in scoff free. It also gives the middle finger to Evolution stone users. Thunder Wave is probably my team's biggest asset, lowering speeds dramaticly, essential for Latios or Landlos coming in later on and set up without much need for speed. Iron Head is here simply for lack of better support option. Wish grants my entire team some sort of recovery. Apart from these roles, Primadonna is also my team's special wall, in particular ice moves, my bane of existence. Beyblade (Nattorei) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Iron Barbs EVs: 100 HP / 252 Def / 156 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Power Whip - Spikes - Thunder Wave - Leech Seed Quite honestly my biggest player, Nattorei is quite simply amazing. I use it more as a leech seed annoyer and paralisis spreader rather than Spiker. Fire types tend to switch in a lot, and thanks to that i prefer to Thunder wave more often than leech seed and spikes. Only after i feel relatively safe do I start stacking them needles. Power Whip is there to counter even more water types and to break some balloons. Legretta (Doryuuzu) (F) @ Chople Berry Trait: Sand Throw EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Rapid Spin - Earthquake - Frustration - Swords Dance I've tried to stay away from Dory, i really did. I've tried Garchomp, Heatran, Flygon, a toxic Spikes variation of Nidoking (which worked ok), hell even a Rhyperior was tested (with also surprising results). But in the end, i needed a rapid spinner and another Physical threat in my team. Dory was the obvious solution. Rapid Spin to send hazards away, since they hurt 4/6 pokes in my team. Swords Dance on the switch and wreck avoc from there. EQ is stab and Frustration is for neutral coverage. Now, i run a chople berry just in case a mach puncher appears, but since i haven't seen any recently, I've been thinking on running a different item, I'd like some feedback on this please. John Cleese (Randorosu) (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Sand Power EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def) - Hidden Power [ice] - Earthquake - U-turn - Stone Edge Since the beggining I've liked this guy, I used to run a Double Dance set with him, to great success, but i've found the scarf set more and more appealing overtime. EQ tears appart everything, U-Turn scouts and doesn't let Celebi loose. Stone Edge is for coverage and HP Ice is for Gliscor, who is increasingly popular. He is very frail however, so i need t rely on wish passing to keep him aline for extended periods. MegaMan (Latios) (M) @ Choice Specs Trait: Levitate EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Psycho Shock - Hidden Power [Fire] - Draco Meteor - Surf Specs Latios is just too strong. No wonder he's called the blue bomber! DM kills everything not named blissey, tyranitar and Steel types (and even then you need some bulky ones). I tend to be conservative with this guy when i see a Tyranitar on the oposing team, and if any other pursuiter is at bay i use HP fire to scout. Surf is there for some very restricted situations, like Heatran and other Steels. I used to run Tbolt instead, btu skarmory is becoming scarcer the day it seems. Psycho Shock is to beat Blissey/Chancey, even though the last one needs to be tricked out of it's Stone. Battle Strategy Really simple in fact. Check the oponent's team and decide optimal lead. Anything weak to ground or that Hippo can take and i lead with him, otherwise Rachi gets loose. On very rare ocasions, i lead with Latios to net a free kill (abcence of Steels/blissey) or with Landlos (scouting). From there on, i try to set up rocks and spread paralisis in the best way possible. After enough is spread, time to bring the big guns. Latios forces a lot of switches racking up entry damage. Landlos demolishes whatever comes in if predicted correctly, and works wonders as a cleaner. Dory clears the field and is a strong Set-upper and Rachi likes to flinch a lot. Nattorei also forces switches, and with some prediction i can score free Leech Seeds. Very rarely i tend to use Natto as a pseudo shield due to iron barbs, but it's really situational. (rxamples include Flinchachi). [/hide] Please keep in minds i'm still finding a good guy on my last spot (that's dory). I've been tinkering with Breloom and Terakion, and changing Landlos to a dual dancer and letting my scarfer be Chomp, but i never seem to test them ok. When i needed terakion for the victory, i'm using chomp and same the other way around, frustrating.....
  16. Blissey (and chansey for that matter) are still the go-to special walls. Only physical ubers can wreck her, and while specs blue fire doesn some heavy damage, you must still notice that in OU she still gets her job done and more. Yeah, Reuniclus can wall stuff too, specially after some Calm minds, but he can't cure your team's status nor heal a team mate for 350~ HP. Both Chansey and Blissey are, to this day, the best special walls in the game, bar ubers (where it could still be debateable versus Lugia and Giratina). On the note of Psycho Shock (since Break is for mewtwo in ubers), Specs Latios can't 0HKO a 252/0 impish blissey without either some heavy entrance damage or a crit, and i talk from experience (unless everybody started to use 252/252 calm blissey). I can agree that, however, Chansey takes hits better. It can't use special attacks though, sicne it's SpA is too low. Also, apart from Gliscor and Nattorei, Blissey is the guy i most see in high ranked matches.
  17. If you mean Gen 4 UU, the only thing i can remember is Heracross going down to UU, as for Gen 5, Smogon is still judging the Tiers. In a related note, I've been also trying a double dancing Terakion and it eats faces. Really.
  18. I took a shot at using this zapdos at a new stall team i'm working for casual use/tournments and it did wonders to any kind of team: Zapdos@Leftovers Modest 200SpA, 252 HP, 56 SpD Pressure -Roost -Toxic -T-Bolt/Thunder (when i use it in rain stall teams) -Freefall Toxic anything, then use Freefall on it. 3 turns of toxic are guaranteed if you succeed on freefalling the same poke. The 200 SpA EVs+Modest is to do some heavy damage on steels. Works really great, couple it with Nattorei for spikes and SR since it forces quite a few switches. Skarmory also works as a physical variant of this.
  19. In all honesty, i prefer this new metagame to Gen IV's (at least late gen IV), Gen 4 was jsut so boring, you had to have a check for everything and play it accordingly. With Gen V on the other hand, team building is much harder to try and accomplish, but it's also much more rewarding in the end. Team preview also adds another layer of strategy, to not only surprise, but to outpredict your opponent with obscure sets both on regular pokes and NU gimmicks. Dream world is another aspect of team building i love, and while there are certain threats that are downright annoying (Latis, Dory, Nattorei and Chan/Blissey, Metagross and Gliscor), once you have your team and style of play figured out, you can succeed even with the most unorthodox team. These aspects combined show a deeper layer of strategy then the previous "Oh, a Scizor, let me switch to hippowdon/Machamp/Heatran, outpredict a switch and keep on going". Gen V ftw!
  20. Ya, azumarril is amazing this meta, but it gets stopped cold by Lati@s, or a well predicted Nattorei. Plus, after several switch ins, it'll get it's health witted down. I also made my first RMT, I'm open for suggestions apart from a few cores (Landlos, Latios and Nattorei are staying). BTW, my ranking so far: (20:49:16) +RankingBot: Your rank in Standard OU is 121/21680! 120-demoli-1314 Doing better than expected :P Edit: (21:07:35) +RankingBot: Your rank in Standard OU is 100/21685! Yay top 100 :) :)
  21. I've been dying to use shubarugo, but i just can't place it in my team. Hippo is a great physical wall who can screw dragons over with ice fang and also counter Dory, jirachi spreads T-Wave, tricks scarfs into walls and greedy set-uppers, passes wealthy wishes and flinches til he dies, Landlos is an increadible scouter and revenge killer and late game cleaner, Nattorei is single handedly my best player, spreads t-wave into fire guys who otherwise threaten my team, spikes, leech seed and power whip for rain abusers and stallers, Dory sets up and sweeps, plus rapid spins hazards and Latios is the blue bomber of doom (i'm so changing my latios' name to megaman now), i seem to have reached a erasonable balance between offence powerhouses and defensive pivots, i guess Shubarugo may have to sit my team out  Also, on Frustration on my Dory: At first, i used return, but when i needed it, i found out PO doesn't have the happiness level at a default of 200, causing it to inflict a massive 1% damage on a dragonite. Thankfully i had the fighting resist berry, resisted the Superpower, and changed to my nattorei so he could die of iron barbs. Anyways, i ended up so mad I changed return to frustration, to mimic what i felt  In comparison to other moves: Brick Break is too situational, X-Scissor only hits psychics hard, but not hard enough to outweight EQ's, Rock Slide hits Levitators and Flying types, but the only notable flying types I've been seeing are Dragons and Gliscor/Skarmory, Skarmory walls Dory to oblivion anyways and Gliscor takes it extra hard from Return/Frustration, Dragons are usually frail anyway, and when they switch in i'm usually at +2 so it doesn't matter. So yeah, it's a well rounded move, and it usually works, so hey why not? (It also has a chance to KO'ing Landlos after Rocks, which is a huge plus).
  22. (19:31:18) +RankingBot: Your rank in Standard OU is 153/20847! 1285 ranking Yeah, i've finally gave in and i'm now using a Dory in my team. Adamant, 252 Spe and Att, Equake, rapid spin, Frustration and Swords dance. It's kinda cheap yes, but i'm tired ofother dorys coming in and having a field day with me. Plus, the thing that really sold it to me was rapid spin, i really needed one on my team and i wasn't feeling like trading rachi for a claydol. Yeah, i liked Nidoking, but i guess paralisis is better for me than poison
  23. I've done some tinkering with my team: Latios traded roost for HP fire and Tbolt for Surf, since Skarmories have been rarer and rarer these days. And possibly my best trade: Garchomp for a Nidoking@lifeorb Encourage, modest 252 SpA, 56 Spe, 100 on Def and rest on Hp, Toxic Spikes, Ice Beam, Fire Blast and Earth Power. Nidoking is a freaking beast! Even with little Spe investment it ouspeeds the walls it wants to break, sets up spikes and generally rocks because it's a nidoking. Also, i think i now consider myself a great nattorei player :P [hide] Battle between Demoli and Aoko started!
