  1. Oh I forgot about Mafia! That game has some pretty awesome music!

  3. They keyword is this is what they SAY, not necessarily what they believe. I find this one interesting though "one third of teenagers say they intend to wait until they are married to have sex compared to less than a quarter (24 percent) in 1989." Whats with the big drive behind this "no sex before marriage" thing in the US? I guess it's a bit different where I live, because strong religious affiliation isn't quite as common. I think it's a mostly religious thing, isn't it?
  4. Yeah that innings has been amazing so far! If he keeps this up, hes in line to break his own record for the fastest triple century (Balls faced), which is currently 278 balls.
  5. The music in Pokemon Gold is pretty epic. Other than that the music from Morrowind is unbeatable, the only problem is that the whole soundtrack is so short, you hear the same music every hour...

Went to the bar the watch the cricket, but a wet outfield delayed the start, so went to the beach, and got sunburnt on my arms <_<, forgot to sunblock them...Then I had go go to work
  7. I didn't watch much, but from what I saw it didn't look like a proper cricket stadium? Where was it being played? It was played at the University Oval in Dunedin, it's a small oval, not a stadium with a small granstand and some temporary seating. The banks also aren't very big... It's kind of trapped between a stream and a road on either side, and at one end there is an art gallery limiting the expansion (the ground is quite small, the straigth boundaries are only about 60m). However the art gallery is difficult to get rid of, as some stupid arty people see it as being historical (despite it being an ugly brick building that's only been around since 1925 or something). If they can get rid of that, expand the ground and the banks a bit, it will be a very nice cricket oval, similar to the Basin Reserve (but a bit smaller).
  8. Try going a bit shorter, especially at the sides and fringe. Then maybe try pushing it up/spiking a bit down the middle, not like a mowhawk, but like a hill... Sorry not a good description...
  9. Oh please don't tell me you're from New Zealand... Thanks Giving isn't celebrated where I live, so nothing.

I enjoy both, but I'm mostly a tea man, but I have it the english way, milk and two sugars. When I'm home, I usually have 4-6 cups a day, but usually only 2-3 when I'm living at my flat. Sometimes I go through periods of drinking coffee.

  12. Hell yeah NZ won! And I was there for the whole game. With Pakistan only needing about 70 runs to win with 5 wickets in hand, it was looking like we were heading for a loss. Who else but Shane Bond to get a vital breakthrough? The atmosphere for that last session was amazing. Only problem now is that Shane Bond has an abdominal tear and will miss the rest of the tet series :wall:
  13. Oh yes it can! You have NO idea... WHere I live It's called sack tapping, and generally it's just a backhand flick aimed at the sack, punching or kicking would be waaay too far. I think it was bigish when I was in 6th form, I think we grew weary of it by 7th form...

Im going to the last day of the cricket (NZ vs Pakistan, then I'm off to PEARL JAM! Going to be a mean weekend!
  15. In case you weren't aware, 99% of your pictures involve you Drunkscaping. I'm just saying... <3: Haha yeah, what else do you expect from the Irish? Haha jokes, my Grandfather was Irish.
  16. You'd be surprised, a lot of girls like shyer guys (especially those who are naturally good looking), but still, you have a point. So what I'm saying is that looks matter. To some more than others. Personality is important, very important, but looks are as well. I'm just being honest with this. Yeah my friend is like thats, and was like that throughout school (The quiet, good looking guy) and pretty much all the girls in our year (and the years above and below) liked him. I think sometimes girls are attracted to these kind of guys because they are kind of mysterious, and while he didn't put himself out there much, no-one thought he was a poser, or a jerk, or attention seeking etc...
  17. I've been going to NZ vs Pakistan, has been awesome so far apart from the rain.... I watched Shane Bond's 3 wicket spell from pretty much behind the stumps... amazing spell, looks so quick that close

Nelson's an awesome place, especially for the summer! It's sunny, full of beaches, and you're right next to golden bay and Abel Tasman National Park... Although I guess if you're by yourself and you family don't take you anywhere then it could get a bit boring, Iknow how it feels. A few years ago my family moved to Kaikoura, so whenever I go there for the holidays I don't know anyone so I don't usually get up to much outside family stuff...
  19. Hmmm seems like a bit of a tough one. If your family is such a supportive one, but they would go as far rejecting for just dating a girl of a different race, I'm sorry to say that IS racism. They may claim not to be racist, but this clearly would be. However I cannot see how they would be so close-minded, especially as a Christain family living in a Muslim country surround by people of a different race...seems a bit out of character. If you're closer to your Mum, it might pay to open up to her first, and get her opinion first, and to see how she thinks your Dad will react. She may be able to help him see your reasoning. I expected an answer like this sooner or later. You would have to understand the history of my country before you can make an accurate judgement. As a Christian family we believe thats different cultures should not mix (as is pointed out in the Bible), our history just makes this even worse. I can assure you me, my family nor any other South African i know has one racist thought in his or her head. Its simply out old fashioned way of up-bringing and i guess my parents' generation never learned how to addapt to the modern world. I do know a bit about the history of South Africa, and I also have South African friends. The whole aparthied regime was built on racism. And that was the South Africa your parents would have grown up, where racial inequality was not only promoted, but enforced. Racist thinking became such a part of every day life that people did not think twice about living in their nice city home, while the blacks lived in the slums in another city. You may not see it as racism, but that is indeed what it is. However this debate is not going to help you win your family over. It's hard as you said because your parents have been raised with a way of life and thinking that is not to change overnight, but maybe their love for you will allow them to accept your choices.
  20. I want hex to post a video lol. I say we issue the challenge

  22. Love and compassion can be easily explained as an evolved behavior to help assist in the survival of the species. If we love we are more likely to look out for and help our fellow humans, which makes the species more survivable. Animals do love, just not on the same level we do. Haven't you ever owned a dog? We are able to think because we have a brain, like all animals. Our brain is just more complex than other animals. We do still evolve. As a population we've been growing taller, for instance. A: Monkeys did not evolve into humans in the first place. We evolved from the common ancestor of all apes. B: Monkeys are still evolving. C: I think you're still not understanding the time-scale involved. It took millions of years for us to evolve from the primitive ape-like creature to what you see today. Everything is still evolving, it's just that evolution takes a very long time to happen. Look at oak trees. They start from an acorn but over the course of 30 years they can reach dozens of feet in height. Your perception of time is such that you can't watch it and see it grow, but every time you look at it it's a little bit larger than the last time you saw it. Furthermore, if you plant an oak tree sapling, then don't see it again for 30 years, when you come back there will have been a dramatic change. You know that it's the same oak tree for various reasons, but you didn't actually witness it grow, did you? That's partially how our understanding of evoulution works. We see a creature in the fossil record and due to many lines of evidence we can say that this creature is a transitional or primitive form of this other creature. We didn't actually witness it evolve but it's evolution is the best explanation for those many pieces of evidence. Dogs (and all animals) cannot make their own choices though. I understand that our brain is much more complexed but i still cannot understand why we can make a CHOICE while they only have INSTICT to rely on. Dogs do as they are told, not as they want. And animals do not love. They have a certain affection, but affection is not love. Also animals have loyalty, this also is not love. EDIT: I'm not trying to troll or anything. I'm really just trying to get a better understanding of everything. I never had the chance to learn about the Big Bang and all that goes with it in my school. My knowledge of it is very very limited so thats why my answers and questions might seem really stupid. Are you trying to say Dogs (and all other animals) cannot make choices? This seems like a VERY steep claim. Every creature is largely influenced by instincts, however humans have a different kind of reasoning to animals, which means we take many factors into consideration when making a choice in regards to responding to instinct. Also we cannot comminicate well with animals, so we have no idea of how their reasoning works, or what they are thinking or feeling. You can't exactly ask a dog if it's in love can you?
  23. Is there any clubs that you can join and play with? Not locally unfortunately. I'm sure I'll find one eventually. maybe when I move states one day lol. For now though, I'll enjoy the game on TV :D You get cricket on TV in the States? Thats pretty good.
  24. 6.5.. I've seen you round a fair bit
  25. Not sure, I only have photoshop. You might be able to do something similar with another program. No as in, no program .. as in done with the camera? I have photoshop btw so that's not the problem. I guess if you sercured the camera perfectly to the otherside of the merry-go-round so that it was able to focus on the couple, but nothing that wasn't moving at the same velocity as the merry-go-round you may get a similar effect. But I don't think the blur would look so radial...
