POLL: What were your thoughts on the Bonus XP Weekend?
Phrost replied to Cowman_133's topic in General Discussion
I do not like the idea of bonus weekends but I took advantage of it. Would have been a fool not to use up my charms etc. -
Okay, thanks :) What's so weird about this is that if it actually is possible, I have yet to hit over 570 with extremes. Would love to hear someone confirm or discard this. :)
-
Hi, I've been doing slayer lately and I noticed that my max hit (in Kuradals cave for example) is ~570 with almost maxed out gear + 99 str + piety + extremes. At the same time, my friend swears he can hit ~570's without extremes+same gear+piety+ 99 str Our gear is the following: Full Slayer Helmet Fury Fire Cape Bandos Chestplate Dragonfire Shield Whip Ferocious Ring Bandos Tassets Dragon Boots As I mentioned, both using piety. The difference is that I'm using extreme pots and he is using super pots. I have been using extremes for a few weeks and been pietying a lot. Not once have I seen anything higher than 57 (going by the old update). I am certainly giving my friend the benefit of the doubt and assuming that he is not lying. He is a great friend and I know him well enough to believe him. So what is going on? Is my max hit really that low or is there something wrong? For the record, I also tried tip.it's max hit calculator and it came up as 53 (added +4 for fero). So does this really mean that he isn't telling the truth? I refuse to believe so.

There is an open item duping glitch in RuneScape.
Phrost replied to MerchantInTheDark's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
How would the items risee in value if the said dupers are bringing items into the game, not coins? The coin amount currently ingame doesn't change thus making the items that are being duped lower in value. -
Fire cape compromise. New post by Mod Chris L.
Phrost replied to Obtaurian's topic in General Discussion
Meh, I didn't have a fire cape when the wyrms were released? So what? I went and got it. Sure, it took a few tries but it was worth getting the benefits of slaying ice strykewyrms. So, now they want to change it again? Great. One thing I didn't fully understand, will the people who have fire capes recieve a special bonus or advantage of somekind? -

What a day it has been for me. First off 5 whips in 1 task, followed by 2 SoL's in 1 task. -
Played it, got 58/60 shards. Didn't like it at all. As for the location and hint: Fountain downstairs of the Hero's guild - Heroic Fountain

I was already getting out my credit card to re-subscribe to rs when I saw the fire cape requirement. I have tried the caves too many times without any success. Nevertheless, great update and some high end content for the ones who are mindlessly bored. <_<

I regret going to Mcdonalds and ordering a CBO. Just a few minutes later I threw up. What the hell was I thinking, right?

indeed! a couple of things though - who or what is insight venture? I'm presuming you know, me also, I was checking traffic yesterday just wondering how things were going I'm sure it can't mean much if they are still raking in the cash but maybe it means there are less new players coming onboard? Insight Venture is a VCI group. In other words, the group invests in capital and private equity and their goal is to make a profit. Based on the owners graph posted earlier in this thread you can tell that Jagex is a privately held company and is not on the stock market, thus making it impossible to own any shares unless you are part of the Insight Venture group. I'll add a source about Jagex being privately held company just in case (click) I agree, I was one of those who played Runescape Classic and retired when the initial game engine upgrade was released. However, I came back when I saw another mate of mine playing RS on high definition. I even asked him which game he was playing as I obviously didn't recognize it being Runescape. Needless to say that I began playing again. The game has gone a long way since then and now actually looks like a game. I'm sure Jagex marketing department has already looken into the possibility of tv advertising. Probably just a matter of time until we see it on our screens.

........ Last time they said that it was mobilizing armies....... I'm just hoping its graphical, if its RT or mobilizing armies related I'm not going to be exactly jumping for joy. That they did. I am as skeptical as you are about this. Yet, I try to take all things into consideration. This is the first time (correct me if I am wrong) they have used such teaser and in my view it would be a waste to use it on a Mobilizing Armies upgrade or any upgrade for that matter. This teaser might imply that the following update is new content and eventful. The same conclusion can be made from the problems they are experiencing right now and hence the delay. Let's hope for the best  -

Experiencing unavoidable game engine problems might mean that the update is big and thus worth the wait. And come on, it's only one week. It's not like they teased us six months ago and scheduled the release for this week and then decided to further postpone the release. We have been waiting for this update only for a few days, unlike many other examples such as Mobilising Armies. Lighten up  -

[hide][/hide] I wouldn't be surprised if there is another ingame teaser just to keep people happy this week now And the following week will generate even more speculation, anticipation, excitement, etc which will all add up to the potential let-down volume. Let's hope it really is something exciting and 'big' -

Hello again, Sorry guys, but this latest version of the sticky of doo-ooo-ooom brings more...unfortunate news. However, we wanted to let you know as soon as possible. Due to unavoidable game engine issues, we are delaying the game update for this week and will be moving it to next week. Please accept our apologies for any disappointment caused by this announcement. Quick find code: 16-17-535-60280044 -
I have no speculation to what it might be but I won't be getting my hopes up just in case

yay :D -
It all depends on how much of a "rush" you are in getting 99. Buying addy bars and making addy arrowtips/platebodies will cost you about 50-60M, give or take a couple million. If you want to go an alternative route, you can get roughly 250 SC hammers. Using the hammers smith will cost you half of the normal cost, so about 20-30M. The nice thing about the hammers is ex/hr getting the hammers is pretty equal to smithing the bars normally. So it all boils down to if you like SC or not. Both methods will take you about the same time, so if you dont mind Stealing Creation I would go that route as it will save you money. If you dont like it, just smack some bars and make the best of it. PS. Either Mith Bolts or Iron Knives until you can make arrowtips. Arrowtips sell for more gp than platebodies, but plates are faster. So its your personal choice on what you want to make. The difference between arrows and plates is around 5M when all is said and done. I don't think you're right about the figures. First of all its approximately 190-195 hammers. Second of all, the cost with sc hammers is roughly 60m. It's double that without them I strongly suggest you to play as much sc as possible. Preferrably non combat, since its a lot faster than the regular sc (I average about 5 tools per hour)

[hide=] [/hide] Wooot, congratulations mate :) Well done. I'm quite sorry I couldn't be there but I'll be there for your next one, whichever it'll be :D -
Whilst I do think that spirit shards should have inifinite stock, I know there are more ways than 1 to accumulate them. For example, take a calculator and spend 5 minutes working on the pouch exchange rates. I was able to find 2 pouches that got me profit and the pouches sold for upper mid in 10 minutes (bought 2k pouches, not gonna name it but it's easy to figure it out for yourself). Then there's the people on RSOF who trade the pouches that do not sell in ge for shards and now are selling heaps of shards on the forums. Sure, you can't buy them with junk anymore but if until now you were dependent on buying them from the ogre, it doesn't really matter since you're spending the same amount of gp. The only thing that changes is the amount of time needed to find the sellers. And how long does that take? 10 minutes maximum? Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this shouldn't be changed back to what it was. I'm trying to say that it actually doesn't take a lot of effort to get them right now. I agree that there should be more high-end content out there though. It would definitely get a lot of the semi-retired players out of their retirement and give the ones that are currently active, but bored, something new to do. It would also give the mid-level players something to strive for. One might say that the group that this content will be focused on is relatively small compared to the userbase but this might be part of the reason why the high-end group is so inferior right now. Maybe the reason that there are so many 100s and not enough high-levelled players is that the 100s don't have any incentive (new content at higher levels) to train once they reach a certain stage. I really think that Jagex should at least TRY to release some high-end content and see what happens. If you follow the current trend of content - the higher level you reach, the more interesting the content gets - then the high-levelled content should blow you away and instantly give people who can't access it a reason to go for it. This game is all about having fun, exploring (both land and new content) and as much versatility as possible. Of course it's good to have a lot of mid-levelled content but there should also be a considering amount of high-levelled content. Anyway, there's my opinion. Sorry if I made it too complicated to read. I'm not really used to expressing my thoughts in English.

Not a bad task I'd say -
I'm very annoyed by this myself. Luckily I have a stash of prayer pots saved up for rainy days like this. However, this doesn't change the fact that the price manipulators are frustrating most of us. I hope the bright minds at Jagex come up with a way to stop this or at least limit it because I can see this getting only worse and worse. It takes a lot of fun out of the game if you can't do what you want to do because you can't get the neccessary items for it. Surely something can be done to stop this?
