I don't know. At least she didn't advocate crimes against humanity (killing families of terrorists) publicly. Trump has never held office, he has no record to compare against.

Frankly, I worry more about 1) A Republican-majority congress and 2) Trump's nomination. I haven't reviewed the latter. The former could be prevented by Democratic fillibusters since it's not a super majority. But I don't doubt America will do worse under Trump than it would have Clinton. Clinton would've easily stalled any social regressions (in other words, stalled attacks against women and minorities) while keeping the status quo (steady increase of wealth concentration to the capitalist elite). The same cannot be said for Trump who ran on a platform marginalizing and attacking minorities.

When America isn't great again in 4 years, are 58 59 (and counting) million Americans going to blame the Democrats or minorities?

Today I voted. Got to vote against Senator Richard "Big Brother" Burr and Governor Pat "Sucker (Genital) Punch" McCrory, among others. I want Burr to go so badly. He's a disgusting politician. Unrelated: this article, McDonald's sues Florence for 18m euros for blocking restaurant, seems like something out of some dystopian fiction piece. But it's not...

I quickly scanned through an old HDD before I wiped it and stumbled on a bunch of pictures. Some of them were of the house, and I can't begin to describe how anxious the disorganization/clutter makes me feel. These pictures were a few months before my mom passed, and the house got worse after. Since I cleaned it back in January, the house hasn't seen a messy day. A few had me in them. I was so round. And one of them had my mom in them. She was on oxygen, watching TV on the couch. That was terrible. She loved TV. I have dreams where I'm trying to get her to watch the latest Doctor Who, or some new show that I know she would've liked. I'm sad now. :(

Why not something like this? https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/jBWG3C/modest-gaming-build Gives you $250 left over for a monitor + accessories.

What do you want to use the computer for?
  8. My brother loved Uncharted Collection. He never got to play Uncharted 1, so that was nice. It's also nice having it all on the PS4. Have you played Uncharted before? I just liked watching him play. It was almost like a movie with real-time bloopers.

I had the most hilarious bug in a project that resulted in two days wasted. Silly dynamically typed languages and implicit boolean coercion! I'm thinking of getting a basic Android phone and getting rid of all the Google stuff, but I have no idea where to begin. Getting rid of my Windows Phone is the last stop necessary to rid myself of Microsoft services. It's been over a year that I haven't used Windows on my computers for more than a few dozen hours (VMs, small stint trying Windows 10, etc). I don't use Facebook (and their other services). And I've been slowly moving away from Gmail. Soon, I'll be independent of these monsters. Soon...

Thought I'd just add some insight from an NPR piece I read this morning: Even In A Virtual World, The Harsh Reality Of Sexual Harassment Persists I like this quote: Personally, I believe the outcome of our actions is more important than the intent behind our actions. Hypotheritcal situation alert! Say I play a FPS and teabag my opponents because I find it funny. The intent is humor derived from playful jests at the opponent's expense. It comes to light that teabagging is linked to a decrease in women playing FPS. My intent (humor, playful jesting, whatever) is meaningless, because the effect of my action is results in a sexist outcome.

Was the person or the avatar groped. Because i dont think avatars have rights. And if you think so thats a VERY extreme position. Did you feel sexually assaulted when you got killed in CoD or Halo and the death cam shows them t-bagging you I'm not discussing it. Come on, I just said I stopped visiting the other forum for such reasons. That makes it sound like you brought it up on TIF for reassurance since the people on the other forum were disagreeing with you >_> Let me be clear: I stopped visiting the aforementioned forum because of dwindling activity, where certain overly vocal members contributed the majority of the discussion centering on feminism. Since it was evident the game development and programming discussions had pretty much dried up, and I don't particularly care to discuss feminism with far-right bigots, I stopped participating and stopped visiting. This was several months ago. However, I decided to visit today, to see if anything had changed, and lo and behold, there was an active topic discussing feminism. So no, the forum was still frequented by these members I mentioned, and nothing had changed in the several months I hadn't visited. So I decided to post my experience in the today thread here, contrasting said forum with Tip.it. I wasn't looking for reassurance. I was just posting an experience. It seems RpgGamer understood, for example.

For better clarity, it was a multiplayer game and a woman who was playing was groped by a male player. Unless it's a sexually-orientated game or otherwise consensual, that's not acceptable.

There's an old programming forum I visit, but some members have pretty much become poster children for alt-right, so I stopped visiting. They especially obsess over feminism and how it's oppressing them. So I decided to pop by after not visiting for months, and what do you know, a 3 page topic on why feminism is bad. You know, because it should be acceptable to grope women in VR games. It makes me sad. It was a small community, like off-topic here, but the few alt-right dickbags are just too much.

I'm not doing anything illegal, but you don't have to break the law to be be sued.

I've been working on an incredibly novel software project recently. But I'm doing so under an anonymous identity, because of liability, which is a bit sad. Oh well. Probably on more secret government lists now, too, since I'm using Tor a lot more often as a result. Also, the Haunted House LEGO kit box got damaged because I'm an idiot, so I decided not to sell it. I'm going to build it tomorrow. Fitting.

The only dynamic language I like is Lua, and by extension, MoonScript. But that's because I love how versatile Lua is, and easy it is to embed in C++ (or whatever). And LuaJIT is amazing.
  19. NXT uses texture atlases. Looks like the coordinates got screwed up, or the wrong shader was used, so it's showing nearby other textures in the atlas as well. Here's what an example atlas looks like: They're normally 4096x4096, but I cropped the image since it was mostly empty space.

It just amazes me how anti-pedestrian or anti-bicycle you 'Muricans are. Bicycles are great. And faster than cars in cities. We rented bicycles in Toronto in June. There people ride quite a bit, there's a lot of bike lanes and people do give you space and consider you as an element of traffic. I live in a poverty-stricken area that is full of people in military-financed Mustangs/Chargers and hilariously oversized $60K+ trucks. The automative fetish is undeniable. It is also full of morbidly obese individuals. We're in a sandhills areas--lots and lots of hills. Most of them couldn't even ride a bicycle more than half a mile. In 2,000 miles on my scooter across all kinds of weather, I've seen maybe a handful of cyclists using the road. They don't exist.
  21. Veiva replied to Leoo's topic in Off-Topic
Riding on the road is less dangerous than sidewalks for bicyclists. It's a deadly myth to think otherwise. People should just hate their live less. My stopping you from getting to the next red light, or your crappy job, or your crappy home life, a few seconds sooner should not result in threats.

I rode my bicycle to a Rite-Aid (convenience store/pharmacy) just about a mile away and had three people yell at me to use the sidewalk or get out of the road, one person honk, and two people give me less than 6 inches of space. All in a timespan under 10 minutes (going there, coming back). Lol. At least I use turn signals.

There is no good phone. They're all insecure pieces of crap. Why does a propriety GSM module with a non-audited, POS firmware have full access to RAM and/or GPIO? It's insane. You wouldn't use a computer if the network chip was connected directly to the public internet (e.g., no firewall), and said network chip had essentially admin privileges to your computer. I mean, public Wi-Fi is bad enough, and the most you have to worry about is someone snooping through insecure website connections, not arbitrary code execution!

The antenna dish for the LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon is worth like $200, and the kit itself is easily $2,000 used. LEGO bricks are made out of adamantium-derivative plastic, they keep their value well. And after all, the value of a LEGO kit is having it built, which requires opening the box anyway.

It's 10228, Monster Fighters "Haunted House". Definitely sell it, maybe you can buy a used/unboxed one for far cheaper? Depends on which set I'd imagine... Possibly. Probably not. The margin between used/new isn't too different. But a large bill last month took out a good portion our savings, so I'd like to get it back up in the mean time.
